4- Establishing Selection Criteria


There shall be criteria to accept quotation of a contractor, and it should include but
not limited to;

Price
Name of past projects of similar nature executed by the contractor
Reputation
Willingness to provide Letter of Credit from bank in case he is selected

5-Submission of bid

Bid price: subcontractor price +overhead+ site supervision + profit

6-In case We do it our selves


Bid price : Material/equipment cost+ labor cost+ indirect cost at site+
Overhead+ others + profit

Plan in case the contract is awarded to us


1-Hiring Project Manager and getting approval from Client
2- Prepare and define project scope in form of WBS (*Work Breakdown Structure) in
collaboration with PM. This will help in identifying and controlling changes to the
scope.
3-Making Construction Schedule (in collaboration with PM)
This task will include

Define activities
Sequence activities
Calculate resources needed to complete the activities
Calculate duration for each activity using realistic productivity data
Prepare the schedule
Submit to client or client representative for approval

4-Making Procurement Plan (in collaboration with PM and procurement department)


This will include

Identification of items to be procured


Identification of suppliers of those items
Negotiate with them for best price and supply
Identification of phases when a particular item will be required
Perform procurement (after PM mobilization to the site)
Control procurement (PM and procurement department)

5-Prepare Cost Management plan

Prepare cost base line ( This will be contract cost)


Phase out the expenditure as per construction schedule
Make sure that sufficient funds will be available during phased requirement
of money
Monitor and control changes during the execution of the project by
employing Earned Value Management (*EVM)

6-Mobilization to the project site


After seeking PMs approval from client, and making the four plans mentioned
above i.e. WBS, Construction Schedule, procurement plan, and cost management
plan, the next step is to mobilization. This includes

Fencing of the site


Establishing temporary offices as follows
1- Portable cabin with inbuilt kitchen and bath for consultants- 01 No
2- Portable cabin with inbuilt kitchen and bath for Ourselves- 01 No

Provision of electricity and water ( in this case the university will be requested
to provide the same)
Arranging Labor accommodation
Hiring services of approved independent laboratory
Arranging Site store and sample room
Lightening and security guards
Staff required during mobilization stage
