Jane DeFlorio: Bio

After a successful 16 year career providing financial advice to the worlds most notable
apparel and retail companies, Jane DeFlorio has recently turned her focus to social
investment, philanthropy and serving on public boards.
Jane retired in December 2013 as a Managing Director at Deutsche out of New York, where
she headed coverage of the US retail industry sector. Her clients included The TJX
Companies, Home Depot and Nike. Jane joined Deutsche Bank in April 2007 from UBS
Investment Bank where she worked with Blair Effron on consumer sector transactions.

business to a private equity firm
Prior to UBS, Jane was at Morgan Stanley where she focused on retail and e-commerce. She
was selected as the first Associate to dedicated e-Commerce Investment Banking group,
working under Ruth Porat who is currently Morgan Stanleys CFO. .She completed several
landmark transactions for clients including Kohls, Safeway, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia
and priceline.com.
In recent years, Jane was selected by Dealmaker magazine as one of its Top 40 Under 40,
which reflects the 40 most influential dealmakers -- private equity professionals and
investment bankers -- under 40. Jane received similar honors from The Investment Dealers
Digest, and she was highlighted in the New York Times The Facebook of Wall Streets
Future.
She is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at The New School University, a leading
progressive university in New York City with more than 10,000 graduate and undergraduate
students. She also serves as Chairman of their Audit & Risk Committee. She serves on the
Board of Governors for The Parsons School of Design. As part of her Parsons work, she was
a founder of the Parsons Design Lab, a program dedicated to solving key design issues
posed by corporate partners.
In early 2014, Jane began the On the Board fellowship at George Washington University.
This program was developed with the International Women's Forum to prepare and place
women leaders on corporate boards. Jane is part of a fifteen member class that was selected
from almost 100 applicants.
Jane received her MBA from Harvard Business School and also has a BS in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. She lives in New York City with her husband
and five year-old twin boys.
