Radiology for Coders

Radiology is a part of the services offered by many physician groups. Do you

Kathleen G. Bailey

Kathleen specializes in coding education (including ICD-10), accounts receivable


management, managed care negotiations, and physician relationships. She has worked
with physicians to establish new solo and group medical practices, conducted
comprehensive practice evaluations, provided coding education and audits and assisted
with advisory services for medical practices.
She received her BS in Accounting and MBA degrees from FSU and is a CPA licensed in
both Florida and Georgia. Knowing that healthcare is an ever changing environment
Kathleen is a member of numerous professional organizations including AAPC, where she
earned their CPC, CPMA, CPC-I (instructor) and ICD-10-CM Trainer certifications; AHIMA,
where she earned CCS-P certification; MGMA (Medical Group Management Association);
and several other local, state and national organizations to stay abreast of current issues.
Understanding from direct experience that physician practices can benefit greatly from
business expertise, she founded Practice Management Solutions in 2006. Prior to this her
experience included working as a practice administrator for anesthesia, radiology, general
surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, primary care and internal medicine practices for over 25
years. In addition, she formerly served as Dean of Online Programs for a college located in
Tampa FL. She continues to teach coding training classes in the
Tampa area and works as an instructor for several online universities.
Kathleen is very familiar with the difficulties facing today's physicians.
Her management experience offers clients ideas and solutions to
improve their lives and the lives of their patients.

diagnosing and treating disease and injury
through the use of medical imaging techniques
such as x-ray, computed tomography (CT),
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron
emission tomography (PET), fusion imaging, and
ultrasound
Radiologists graduate from accredited medical
schools, pass licensing examinations, and
complete residencies of at least four years of
postgraduate education that includes:
Radiation safety/protection
Radiation effects on the human body
Appropriate performance and interpretation of
radiologic and medical imaging examinations
