PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
November 2013 Present
Microwave Transmission Engineer / Cisco networker, Neonetwireless Nig. Ltd, Lagos State.
Vendor equipment used is Ericsson mini-link Traffic node AMM 20p and AMM 6p.
Configurations done for Airtel include 1+0 unprotected, 1+1 HSB protected and 4+0
XPIC.
Configuration done for MTN includes 1+0 unprotected, 1+1 HSB protected and 1+1
HSB XPIC.
Other configuration skills include traffic routing namely:
i.
E1 mapping from MMU-NPU, MMU-LTU, MMU-MMU and various cross
connections on the Data Distribution Frame (DDF) and patch panels.
ii.
Native Ethernet using layer 1connection and Ethernet switch.
iii.
Ethernet over Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (EoPDH) using both layer 1
and Ethernet switch.
iv.
Ethernet over Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (EoSDH) STM-1 155mbps
capacity.
Handled trainings on microwave radio transmission with life equipment, bench test
and various configurations which include 1 + 0 un-protected, 1 + 1 protection, 4 + 0
xpic, Frequency Diversity (FD), Space Diversity (SD) and configuration on repeater
sites. And how to route traffic using E1 mapping and cross connection on DDF, native
Ethernet, PDH over Ethernet and SDH/SONET over Ethernet either on layer 1
connection or layer 2 (i.e. Ethernet switch) and IP DCN configuration (ospf and static
routing )for SIELTE / Telecommunication System staffs, IT Students and private
individuals.
Configurations and implementation of Cisco networking device like 1700,2600,
2800, and 3700 series routers and 3500 series and 2900 series switches in live
networking environment.
Handled trainings on Cisco routing and switching and VoIP implementations.
Handled training on Fiber Optic Engineering which covers :
I.
Fiber optics basics
II.
Principles of fiber optics i.e. total internal reflection of light.
III.
Fiber optics planning i.e. attenuations
IV.
Fiber optics testing and troubleshooting equipment i.e. power meter and light
source, optical time-domian reflectometer (OTDR) .
V.
Fiber optics types i.e. SM and MM, connector types.
VI.
Fiber optics splicing which include fusion and mechanical splicing etc.
Worked in their technical support unit which is divided into the Tetra radio
transmission unit and Cisco networking unit
Worked onshore and offshore, installing base radio antennas, preparing their
connectors and programming both the base radios and the mobile Tetra radios and also
repairs of faulty tetra and base radios for users.
