Technical Adhesive Tapes

Coroplast is a modern family firm

with a rich tradition. Production facilities are located in Germany, Poland
and Mexico with representations and
service centers in 23 European countries and overseas. This demostrates
our global presence and allows us to
pursue the goal of the highest level
of service to our customers.
Founded on the basis of our plastics
know-how, the Adhesive Tapes Division first made a name for itself with
its assortment of insulating tapes
and today offers a wide variety of
technical adhesive tapes. Here, the
aim is not to supply the right product for every purpose, but rather
to offer the customer specialty products in defined segments, with an
emphasis on quality, assortment and
service.

Coroplast adhesive tapes Experience and Innovation from

a Single Source

Coroplast is large enough to have an

international presence and provide
the necessary prerequisites, in development and quality, but not so large
that its flexibility to provide special
solutions to its customers in small
batch sizes, would suffer.
On the contrary: It is the aim of
Coroplast to react very quickly to
market requirements and to present
solutions considerably faster than
the industry average.
Also crucial is the readiness to
consciously follow different and
new paths in its search for technical
solutions. Among other things, this
binds Coroplast to the policy of vertical integration in the development
and manufacture of adhesives and
plastic films as adhesive backings,
intentionally opposing with good
reason outsourcing, which is often
seen as the trend. The result is often
intelligent products which can do
much more. A recent example is the
category of cable wrapping tapes
based on modern hotmelt acrylates,
for which Coroplast was the first
manufacturer world-wide to obtain
approval for automobile application.

As a supplier of automobile components, our long-standing certifications in accordance with ISO/TS

16949, are a matter of course for
Coroplast.
By the way: Our development and
supply possibilities extend beyond
the contents of this catalogue.

questions or special requirements.

Explanatory notes on the Adhesive Tape Standard for Electrical Insulating Tape: DIN EN 60454
The European Standard DIN EN 60454 for electrical insulating tape in force since 01.01.2001 replaces the previously
known national standards DIN 40633 and VDE 0340 and forms the basis for our tests of adhesive tapes for the
electrical engineering sector. It is now provided that the essential characteristics and test values of adhesive tapes
be indicated by the product designation. The following example illustrates the complete product designation for
Coroplast 302:
Coroplast 302 Electrical Insulating Tape
DIN EN 60454 -3 -1 F - PVC /105/ A-Tx Typ 10
Classification and identification of the heat class;
Code from temperature index and lowest processing
temperature
(Type 10: Index 105 and can be processed down to -10C)
Identification of adhesive type (A=Acrylate)
Temperature index (Temperature resistance +105 C)
Type of base material (PVC)
Form of base material (F = Foil)
Part or page of Material Identification
(Page 1 = PVC Electrical insulating tapes)
Identification for individual materials
(self-adhesive tapes for electrical engineering applications)
Standard designation
Our standard product Coroplast 302 already demonstrates the excellent characteristics of Coroplast Adhesive Tapes:
The relatively high Heat Class 10 (of 12 possible classes) is achieved in accordance with DIN EN 60454-3-1. Our
Coroplast Types 301, 302 and 352 SE undergo additional standards testing by the VDE, so these also bear the VDE
test mark. Further details and technical specifications can be found in the product descriptions in this catalogue or are
available from us on request.

Cable jacket repair set

Application, properties
and advantages:

Technical data:

The set consists of one roll each

of Coroplast 100, 1.5 x 38 mm x
5 m (self-bonding butyl rubber
tape) and Coroplast 201, 0.18 mm
x 19 mm x 20 m, black (allweather insulating tape based on
plasticized PVC, self-adhesive).
For repairing damaged cable
jacket, for upholstering cable
terminals, for insulating cables
and line connections, for
protecting cable against moisture.
Coroplast 100 is easy to use
thanks to its low thickness
of 1.5 mm.
Coroplast 100 amalgamates
following application with slight
tension to an air and watertight
layer.
Can be applied easily even at low
temperatures.
Mechanically secure final
wrapping with Coroplast 201.
