Industry recognised qualifications

Our accredited diploma courses will train you to a higher

practical standard than NVQ or any equivalent qualification. All
of our courses are fully recognised by the beauty industry and
we are the only distance nail educator accredited by the Guild
of Beauty Therapists (The UKs largest beauty trade
association). Unlike many 'distance learning' or 'online' theory
only courses, our courses require you to complete and save
each step of the nail building process on our unique progress
cards. Some of our courses require as much as 100 hours of
practice on the Nail Trainer so you can be confident in knowing
you will receive more hands-on practice than on any other
course.
In order to maintain our high accreditation standards we assess
you to salon standards and should you not pass first time there
are no extra fees to resubmit your work. You can resubmit as
many times as you need. Some students even like to resubmit
fresh work for a better grade as many techs love to have their
best certificates on display.
Once graduated you will be able to apply for insurance with The
Guild of Beauty Therapists who will cover you to work on paying
clients in a salon or at your own home business.

GEL COURSES FOR YOU

You'll then learn how to apply the bonding, building and

finishing layers of Gel to the nail. The Gel is like a thick
polish and is applied to the nail with a brush. Application is
quick and easy and does not start to set hard until placed in
the UV light curing box. We teach you how the different
layers bond together and how to remove the final sticky
layer, leaving the surface shiny like glass. You will be taken
slowly through each step in close up, with illustrations to
compliment the DVD making the learning process as easy
as possible for you.

Putting it all together

In part three, your tutor Gina builds a complete set of nails,
using the different sizes of Nail Trainer practice nails. She
creates them at the sort of speed that's common in a salon,
where you need to complete 10 nails in under 90 minutes.

Assessment and Graduation

During the course you will have saved the nails that you've
been practicing on. You send these, together with your
completed question papers, back to us for assessment on
your Progress Cards. Our assessors will mark your nails and
issue you a Certificate from The Essential Nails Institute
which is nationally recognised within the nail industry.

celebrities worldwide. Acrylics are beautiful and strong. It's
the system every serious Nail Technician has to master in
order to provide a full service. It's an ideal first course for

WHAT YOU LEARN

Foundation

In the first lessons you'll learn all about the tools and
products that you'll need to create Acrylic Nails. We'll show
you how to keep things clean and sterile, how to look after
your clients, how to recognise some common nail diseases
and what to do about them. We'll tell you about working in
a salon and how to make money doing nails.

ACRYLIC COURSES FOR YOU

Essential Techniques

We will show you how to choose, fit and blend a nail

extension tip. Then you'll learn how to produce the perfect
mix of acrylic liquid and powder and apply it to the different
areas of the nail. Shaping the acrylic to a perfect profile and
finish is a critical step and covered in great detail during the
course.

Putting it all together

In part three, Gina runs through the entire process of

creating five beautiful, natural looking Acrylic Nails, offering
some tricks of the trade and demonstrating just how quickly
a skilled Nail Tech can work. The quicker you work, the more
money you'll make! You copy what you see, saving the nails
on Progress Cards.

Assessment and Graduation

The qualification that you receive with any of our courses is
issued by the Essential Nails Institute and is nationally
recognised within the nail industry. What this means is that
you will be able to gain your professional indemnity
insurance with your certificate.

Spa Manicure & Pedicure Course

Assessment & Certification + Foot Spa

The full course includes a luxurious foot spa for students
wishing to incorporate it into their Pedicure routines. How
ever you can choose to buy the course without a footspa.
Also included is your workbook and a set of question papers
that you work through when treating your clients or models.
You learn the routines as shown on the course DVD. Using a
model of your choice, you take progress photographs as you
complete the treatment, which you save in your work book.
You then send your completed workbook back to us for
assessment and certification.

Assessment and Graduation

The course follows the requirements for the UK NVQ.
However we recognise that not everyone needs to be
formally qualified. So we've made the course as flexible as
possible, allowing you to choose to learn Manicure,
Pedicure or both. If you pass - and most people do - you will
receive individual recognised qualifications for each
discipline. What this means is that you will be able to gain
your professional indemnity insurance with our certificate.

These expert courses increase your skills, improve your

techniques and extend your knowledge and understanding
of advanced nail systems and nail art, through practical

course, our 'Conversion Course options' are for you.

Maintenance
After completing your first or second course the
Maintenance course is the one you should really consider.
After 2 weeks, your clients nails will have grown, leaving a
ridge at the cuticle and pushing the smile past the finger tip.
She may have a lifting overlay, a chip or crack. Maintaining
your client's nail extensions so they look good all the time is
the best way to keep your clients loyal, and to earn more
money.

Acrylic Sculpt
Acrylic Sculpting is the pinnacle of the Nail Technician's art.
The extended free edge is created out of pure acrylic, so
there's no gluing or blending of tips. The length and shape
of the nail is sculpted with your brush. In this nail course we
teach you how to create fantastic looking nails in both pink
and classic pink and white. Sculpted nails are in demand by
the more discerning customer and command top prices in
the salon.

Fibreglass
Fibreglass nails are not as popular as Gel or Acrylic, but in
some ways are superior. They're the first choice for a client
that chews her nails and if applied correctly will look very
natural. There's little odour during application and the
extensions are built using adhesive and an invisible glass or
silk weave. The finished nails are really tough and are easier
to remove than the other systems. Fibreglass is the favourite
system for a select band of Nail Technicians.

Amanda has always enjoyed art, and when
she discovered nail art she knew this was the
path for her. Amanda has set up her own
business working from home and has
created competitions and workshops for
nail techs lacking in confidence.

Its not all about study and hard work here at Essential Nails, we want you to have lots of
fun with the new skills you have acquired. So throughout the year we hold themed Nail
Art Competitions, which are open to everyone. The standard of work entered into our
competitions are extremely high, and with every new competition the level is raised even
higher. We love seeing all of the stunning creations and we have tried to make it a fair as
possible by dividing the competitions into levels and categories. Keep a look out on our
