Summary
I've been involved in ELT since 1996, when I began teaching in Kuala
Lumpur and then Tokyo. I have extensive experience developing
content for a range of high-profile ELT courses for major global
publishers.
In addition, I have a strong understanding of new digital
technologies and user-centered learning principles, and how to
apply this to ELT materials.
I have also written original content for workbooks and online
platforms.

Full developmental work, from initial research and specification, to
final handover for design. I have been the main content
development editor on a broad range of titles, including: face2face
Advanced, English Unlimited Starter and Advanced, Cambridge

Content and copy editorial work on new editions of Cutting Edge
and Total English, and content development work for secondarylevel English courses for Kaplan.

Development of beta- and alpha- content for a new interactive

Development Editor, Cambridge University
Press
Content development and copy editing for CUP's face2face series,
comprising print, online, electronic, and CUP's first Interactive
Whiteboard elements.
Liaising closely with authors, freelance editors and designers to
develop content, from initial specification sessions to final
production of the content.
Identifying, commissioning and briefing authors and peer
reviewers for new course components.
Planning and conducting research interviews and focus groups
across Europe in order to identify and report on new or existing
publications.
Attending conferences and giving presentations on new EFL
products.
19962005: ELT teacher, materials developer
With the British Council and International House and other private
language schools, in London, Hungary, Japan and Malaysia: a
teacher of English to a wide range of groups, including: in-company
classes; general adult classes; exam-preparation classes; young
learners.
Also involved in the creation of new teaching materials for
secondary-level learners with the British Council for the
teachingenglish.org.uk website.
