Our Mission

Trade Signs was originally established in 1994 and has become one of the
leading trade suppliers of signage to the UK and Ireland sign industries. We
are an innovative sign company with a high reputation for quality and service.

Trade Signs A company committed to innovative technology, service

excellence, rigorous quality control and a culture of continuous
improvement where our total workforce is passionate about exceeding
customer expectations.

The company has also developed and grown in line with the needs of the
industry offering more than just signs with lines in architectural metal work
and specialist LED Illuminations to help assist our customers to complete
shop fit outs and complex projects.
We operate from a state of the art modern factory
in Hertfordshire with cutting edge technologies
and a bespoke operational/communication
system. We pride ourselves on being the best and
introducing change to our processes where we can
to improve our services and quality.

Flat Cut Letters

We offer a wide range of products and services for flat cut lettering in
a large range of materials with endless possibilities. Running two main
types of CNC technologies in laser cutting and routering, we are able
to achieve a wide range of finishes to the highest quality, processed
quickly and efficiently in almost any material.

Base Products

The most commonly used

materials are acrylic, foamex,
stainless steel, mild steel,
brass, aluminium, aluminium
composite and almost any
other material of your choice
subject to availability.

Finishes & Effects

Most materials come in a

range of thicknesses, finishes
and effects as standard. From
gold stainless steel to powder
coated metal and bevelled
acrylic to flame polished
edges, we do it all in house
to the highest standards. We
can create new innovative
effects by applying layers of
different materials to each
other to create a unique
visual impression on your
customer.

Fixing Methods

All flat cut letters come with a

wide range of fixing methods
fitted in our factory ready
for installation. The most
common type of requested
fixing is Tradefix sign locators
(also known as nylon or
acrylic locators).

Templates

All flat cut products come

with a template (fixing/
drilling guide) to help you
position the letters correctly.
They are all pre-marked and
checked for alignment by our
assembly team to ensure
accurate positioning.

Built Up Letters
We have been manufacturing and supplying 3D built up lettering for
many years now and have a high level of expertise & experience. From
basic brushed stainless steel, right through to LED illuminated special
effects, we do it all to the highest standards.
Finishes and Materials

Innovation

We also use materials for special finishes in

brass, copper, bronze and mild steel to create
that unique rustic finish.

Fixing Methods

We make our letters primarily from stainless

steel, aluminium and acrylic which come
in a wide range of finishes. From brushed/
polished silver and gold stainless steel to
powder coated matt, semi-gloss or gloss, the
possibilities are endless.

With the bespoke nature of signage no two

sign locations are the same, this creates the
problem of getting the right fixing method
for your letters before its manufactured. We
have a simple fixing guide which allows you to
identify the method you will need when you

LPFLEX Superior Letters

LPFLEX was primarily developed for exterior
use but thanks to its powerful luminosity
and sleek build, it is also ideal for interior use.
Manufactured from solid acrylic or acrylic
layers and machined using the latest CNC
technologies the versatility of this product
means it can simply do things that other
illuminating products cant.

LED Technology

In our LPFLEX Sign System we have many

years of experience with LEDs and we have
constantly developed the technology further.
Only the highest quality LEDs are used in
LPFLEX and in laboratory tests they only lost
5% of their light output after 10,000 hours
of use, with an initial light output of 2000cd/
m which makes us the market leader in this
segment. All our LEDs are tested prior to use to
make sure the Kalvins each LED emits are the
same in every sign (this is the colour of

the light) they are then separated into

individual bins making sure your sign lights up
consistently the same colour on every letter.
If you need a letter replacing we make sure
its made from the same bin of LEDs (with the
same fixing position) so any light degradation
of the existing sign is then controlled with a
dimmer on the new letter to make sure your
replacement letter matches the existing letters
exactly in both colour and brightness.

Sign Trays
One of the most common services that companies require is for
basic fabricated aluminium sign trays. Whether it be 2mm or 3mm
aluminium or stainless steel, we cut, fold, weld and dress the corners
prior to painting or powder coating. All our tray joins come with a
folded and welded joining system which keeps the joins flat, rigid and
easy to install.
Blank Sign Trays

We can supply blank trays ready for the customer to apply

their own graphics/lettering or fully sign written ready to install
with fixing rails and colour coded screws. One of the most
common services that companies require is for basic fabricated
aluminium sign trays.

Stencil Cut Tray Systems

We also supply stencil cut trays with detail routered or laser

cut out of the face of the tray. We then back these areas with
coloured acrylic. For illumination we supply them with full
aluminium back trays with LEDs or LED light sheet illumination.
This technique allows the light to come through the stencil
cut areas only, making its face illuminate in a very effective
manner. We can then take the sign a step further by adding
inlays into cut areas to give the sign some texture/3D effect,
and with bevelled edges and stainless steel faces we can create
unlimited effects.
For a more creative look we can make shaped trays where
we cut and build up shapes to create bespoke fabricated tray
systems, giving customers a totally unique product. We also
mirror and replicate the process to create back to back or
double-sided sign systems which can be mounted on post or
projecting brackets.

Projecting Signs
This type of signage is seen in every high
street and on most shop fronts. We construct
a wide variety of fabricated projecting signs
in all sorts of shapes and sizes. The support
structures are usually made from mild steel
or aluminium, depending on their size and
structural requirements.
We then clad them with aluminium or stainless
steel and powder coat them to a finish that is
ready for the customer to signwrite with vinyl,
or we can stencil cut them and illuminate
them with LEDs.

We also manufacture the more simple and cost effective flat

panel systems with brackets and chains to allow the sign to
swing in the breeze; these can also be cut to any shape or size
for a bespoke look.

Illumination

Projecting signs are illuminated using a few different methods,

fluorescent tubes and gear trays are being replaced with LED
technology which provides low energy running costs and a
virtually maintenance free sign. From LED tubes to LED trough
lights and the latest in LED light sheet technology we build all
our projecting signs to meet customers needs.

Monoliths/Totems
Monolith/totem signs come in many shapes
and sizes, from the large supermarket entrance
signs to small internal decorative monoliths.
We have the capacity to build, handle and
deliver these straight to you or direct to site.
We make a wide and varied range of
monoliths, from plain box-clad aluminium
systems to stencil cut, illuminated and
curved face systems. We make them using a
combination of materials to create different
effects and styles depending on your needs.

Illumination

Monoliths/totems can be illuminated using a wide range of

LED products from LED Light panels to Light box modules.

Transport

Moving these giants and placing into position on site requires

HIAB lorry transport, we can help organise the delivery to meet
your needs in lifting the sign into position using one of our
highly trained contractors. We will supply all the ground cages
days before delivery so you can get the concrete set ready to
simply drop the monolith/totem on to the completed base.

Architectural Metalwork is a specialist division within the group which
specialises in bespoke and Architectural Metalwork.
Excellence in design, materials and
craftsmanship form the basis of Architectural
Metalwork UK. We have the expertise to
visualise, develop and produce high quality
metalwork in a variety of metals including:
stainless steel, mild steel, brass, copper, bronze
and aluminium.
We can survey, produce CAD drawings and
manufacture all types of metalwork using the
following engineering processes: fabrication,
welding, CNC machining, laser cutting, water
cutting, powder coating and polishing.

Shop Fronts

straight forward but many factors need to
be considered when creating a visible and
consistent Wayfinding system. Wayfinding
strategies generally cover all types of signage
from Monolith to Directories and Finger posts
to vinyl graphics, however a good system is all

Trade Signs has dedicated installation crews with first class knowledge
and experience to carry out and fix your bespoke signage to your
premises. Our installation crews will work to a time that suits you
providing minimum disruption to you and your clients. We can provide
internal or external installations using access equipment sourced and
organised by a Trade Signs project manager.

projects. Our online shop caters for the basic sign makers
needs. We have a range of products available, from your
standard sign tools like Squeegees, masking tape and scalpels
to specialist LEDs, wiring, connectors and transformers. These
are all available on our online shop at the click of a button.

Sign Track is a brand new system that offers our customers the ability
to track their order from start to finish throughout the production
process on our website. Our skilled staff members use touch screen
systems throughout the factory to log the status of a job, this
information is then fed through to the website giving customers real
time progress and the reassurance of knowing their job is on schedule.
