Initial Setup
1. Create an administrator password and login to the server.
2. Rename the computer and join it to the domain.
a. In Server Manager (opens by default), select Local Server on the left pane.
b. Click the current Computer name to open the dialog box to change it.
c. Click Change
d. Type in the name of the domain controller. (<Property>-DC<#>)
e. Select Domain:
i. Type in morrismultimedia.com.
ii. Click OK.
iii. Enter your username/password to authenticate.
f. The server will prompt you to reboot.
3. After the reboot, login with your @morrismultimedia.com credentials.
4. Open Server Manager (if it doesnt open automatically).
a. Click Manage in the top right.
i. Add Roles and Features. > next
ii. Choose Role-based or feature-based installation.
iii. Select your server.
iv. Choose the following Roles:
1. Active Directory Domain Services
2. DHCP Server
3. DNS Server
4. File and Storage Services (Should be automatically installed)
5. Remote Desktop Services
v. Feature
1. WINS Server
2. Leave anything automatically checked
vi. Continue through the prompts until Role Services under Remote
Desktop Services
1. Check all role services except for Remote Desktop Virtualization
Host
1. Once the roles are installed, a notification will remind you to promote the server. Click
on Promote this server to a domain controller.
