Social Media Strategy

SEO: Social media validates your professional

brand
Your brand is equal to your market value in the job market.
Summary blurb:
Social media channels are the becoming the primary
channels for your professional brands voice and content.
These networking platforms allow people to see your
interests, your engagement and ideas before you can say
your elevator pitch.
Blog Post:
But First, Social Media
Its the first thing we see in the morning, and the
last thing we see at night. At least, for most people in the
digital age, this is true for social media. Social media is
now equally as important for your personal brand as it is
for your professional brand. People meet your profile
before they meet you. Its more important than ever for
your social media presence to distinguish you in a sea of
followers. Its important to go beyond the likes.
What to say when you get a follow request from
Grandma
LMDO- laughing my dentures out. Everybodys doing it,
even Grandma, so if you havent developed your online
presence yet, get on the bandwagon. But, what grandma
doesnt do is monitor the blogs, the Instagram, the
Facebook and the Twitter. Shes only on the Spacebook.
It is essential to capitalize on the power of social
networking, as it is the only networking you can do in your
sweats from your bed. In the sports industry, social media is
the main way of engaging fans off the field. Facebook is for
trash talking, Twitter is for live updates when you have to
be at a family gathering, and YouTube is for reliving your
favorite game.

Who should you keep your eye on?

Darren Rovells twitter feed was
the top recruit for Sports Social
Media Professional of the year last
season.
College basketball has become
synonymous with Dick Vitale, the
famous, animated basketball
analyst. The same goes for the
man, the myth, the legends tweets.
Oh baby.
What should be in your
playbook?

As I watched the
game, I listened to
@DickieV analyze
every movement.

The Bleacher Report blog gives real- time updates, and the
fans go wild for it. Its the place to be during the Big
Dance, you know the one with all the brackets. They are
my No. 1 seed in my blog roll.
Although, for most, the powerhouses remain ESPN and
CSN. From nostalgia for favorite players, to the pre-game
excitement and post-game banter, these dynasty companies
cover it all.
The place to discuss plays on LinkedIn is The Sports Buzz.
Sports professionals gather here to network and pick each
others brains.
If youre not on social media listening and engaging, how
can you expect to become the MVA (most valuable
applicant) in a sea of job seekers?
How will people know that you can not only talk the talk,
but walk the walk?
