Details of Offence Andrew Rutter engaged in conduct which was discreditable to a barrister and likely to diminish the trust and confidence in which the public places in him as a barrister in that on the 12th September 2014 at North Tyneside Magistrates Court he was convicted of being in charge of a, mechanically propelled vehicle, namely a Mercedes C200 VRM LP12ZKY on a road, namely Grove Park Crescent, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, whilst unfit to drive through drink contrary to section 4(2) of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988. He received a fine of 800 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of 80 and costs of 650 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
