Obey everything the Narrator tells you to do except for pressing "On" instead of "Off" on the mind
control facilities' power. This will shock the Narrator and, instead of taking control of the facility, will
initiate its nuclear self-destruct function, leaving the player to die while the Narrator enjoys their
torment and explains everything.
Coward Ending
Close the door to your office at the start of the game. Instead of exploring the office, Stanley chooses
to sit there staring at the screen, hoping some commands will pop out. The Narrator will utter some
comments about Stanley and his cowardice and the game resets.
Museum Ending
Obey everything the Narrator tells you to do, but follow the Escape sign instead of going in the Mind
Control Facility. Just before Stanley meets his death at the hands of a large crushing machine, a
female Narrator takes over and frees Stanley, giving him a chance to look inside a
museum containing beta elements from earlier in the game's production, elements from other
endings, and content that was cut from the game.
After that, the female Narrator tells the player that the only way to save Stanley is to quit the game,
but staying put will have the metal jaws crush Stanley to death, leaving the screen blank and truly
forcing one to restart.
Confusion Ending
Take the right door, go left in the open door, use the elevator inside the Maintenance Room. Taking
this route leaves the Narrator confused as to which direction to go. After opening and closing two
doors in Stanley's face, he opens a garage door that leads to the Monitor Room. In successive
restarts, Stanley will always end up in theMonitor Room.
After two restarts (ending with multiple doors, then with no doors,) the Narrator decides to use a
guide called The Stanley Parable Adventure Line Or Line for short. However, the Adventure
Line keeps leading back to the Monitor Room.
On the next restart, the Narrator and Stanley decide to venture away from the Line, eventually
coming to a room with the Confusion Ending Schedule, wherein the Narrator refuses to restart the
game as per the schedule. He "breaks" the game, which eventually resets without his consent.
Phone Ending
Take the right door, go into the Warehouse, take the cargo lift across without jumping and answer the
phone in the Phone Room. This teleports Stanley in front of what appears to be his apartment, but
when he opens the door, expecting his wife, he finds a robotic mannequin. Attempting to leave
instead of entering his apartment prompts the Narrator to block Stanley, forcing him to enter his
apartment. As the screen tells the player to press a specific button, the apartment around Stanley
begins to change into his office while the Narrator tells Stanley theStory of The Death of a Man
Named Stanley.
Taking the left door will allow the game to proceed as normal (sans the option to go downstairs, with
the railing blocking the entrance to do so.) Instead of a keypad to access the Mind Control Facility,
you are presented with a voice box in which Stanley must speak the password. He is unable to do
so, and the Narrator launches on a tirade about entering the right door and "doing whatever the hell
you wanted".
In the end after going through both doors at least once, you (the player, not Stanley) leave Stanley's
body and appear above the ceiling in the two doors room (after returning from the Warehouse.) Not
having anyone controlling him, Stanley is frozen in place. The Narrator then pleads for Stanley to do
something as the credits roll.
Powerful Ending
Take the right door, go into the warehouse, and drop to your death without boarding the platform. The
narrator will applaud Stanley for jumping then the game will restart.
Games Ending
Disobey the Narrator to the end; take the right door, go into the warehouse, take the lift and jump
onto the catwalk. Take the blue door 3 times. Stanley will walk into a large room that the Narrator had
not finished building yet; Developer textures (orange and white tiles) can be seen along the walls
around Stanley.
The Narrator will show some prototypes of videogames that he had been working on, due to
Stanley's apparent distaste for the Narrator's intended game. They include the original two doors
room, this time with a third door to the far right, featuring a wooden door and orange hallway, starkly
contrasting with the other two doors.
Stanley will then play a "baby" game, preventing a baby from crawling left into fire. If Stanley fails the
game, he is sent to a Minecraft lookalike game. He watches the Narrator create a house, and then
walks into a cave in order to mine diamond. As Stanley walks further into the hole, the lighting dims
and the Narrator laments on how open-ended the game is.
Stanley is then sent to the first level of Portal. He completes the first puzzle with ease. However, the
Narrator closes the elevator and sends it away. Stanley falls through the hole into a remnant of the
original office building, but it's actually the office from the original source mod. If Stanley walks back
after going to his office, the screen turns to black and the Narrator closes this ending with some
thoughtful dialogue.
Stanley can also break the portal puzzle by putting the Weighted Storage Cube through the door,
surprising the Narrator. The Narrator will then keep Stanley in the room, since he had ruined his only
escape.
Zending
Take the right door, go into the warehouse, take the lift and jump onto the catwalk, take the red door.
Stanley will be transported to a Starry Dome where the Narrator and Stanley can find "True
Happiness". Stanley eventually goes inside the other room and climbs a set of stairs which are cut
off at the highest point. The narrator notices what Stanley is doing and begs him not to jump off the
stairs. Stanely eventually does, but survives the fall. Relieved, the Narrator hopefully suggests that
Stanley returns to the Starry Dome room where they will be happy. But stanely continues to jump off
the stairs several more times while the narrator begs for him not to do so. Then, as the last jump is
about to happen, the Narrator sadly says that there is no such thing as true happiness and Stanley
falls one last time, making the screen fade to black and the game restart.
Heaven Ending
Complete the input on all 5 computers in the office.
The computers can be found at these locations:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
On Stanley's computer
This will lead Stanley in a place called Heaven full of colored buttons. The player can leave the place
by beginning the game again; the last input (on Stanley's computer) will remain on his computer.
Art Ending
Once Stanley reaches the Baby Game, he continues to press the button to save the baby. After 2
hours, the Narrator will add another game, one where you have to save a puppy from piranhas by
pressing another button in front of the first one. In order to beat both games, Stanley has to go back
and forth to press both buttons. After a total of four hours playing, Stanley will be brought to a white
room where he will see the Divine Art.
In addition, when playing the Baby Game, the Narrator will talk about the likeliness of using hacks to
repeatedly press the button without actually doing anything yourself.
If Stanely fails at either of the games, then the Game Ending will start.
Whiteboard Ending
Sometimes when the game starts/restarts the office is all blue-ish. When this occurs, Stanley can
open room 426. Once opened, Stanley finds a small room in which a whiteboard hangs on the wall,
saying "Welcome to the Whiteboard Ending". This is more like an easter egg or a joke given by the
game's developers. The whiteboard also has 'Console >bark' written in the lower right corner, which
is a console command that makes the USE button make a barking sound.
