RUNNING HEAD: Week 8 Assignment

3) HSOs and HSs are formed for the purpose of ability of alliances to increase the participants
capacity to innovate and adopt to environmental threats to experience organizational learning and
to make quality improvements. There is lot of coordination between the HSOs and HSs and they
do so for more purpose. The common purpose is for the alliance activity which helps the purpose
of cost reduction and revenue enhancement. It generally negotiates on behalf of members to
obtain volume discounts with suppliers to provide its members with the favorable pricing, terms
and condition. This is why the co ordination is very important for the HSOs and HSs.
The mechanism of HSOs and HSs create economy of effort to maintain control and
minimize friction. It gives direction of vision to the product rather than the process, the result
rather than the effort (Longest, 2015)
4) An organizational design of fundamental concern to classical theorists was how large
to make the group of workers. Span of control is defined as the number of subordinates reporting
directly to the superior. The span of control remains an important factor in the designs of HSOs
and HSs.
Delegation is a common practice in contracts laws. It is more important part regarding
how an organization is managed and whether the subordinates are listening to the superior or not.
The narrow span may encourage greater communication between layers of management structure
and cleaning lines of communication. Thus it has strong relationship with the span of control.
The relationship with the span of control is higher than centralization since centralization means
that control by one authority while span of controls determines the number of levels in an
organization. Decentralization on the other hand shows fewer tiers of organization structure than
the other factors (Karmakar, 2012)

9) Thinking broadly one can say that people have always been forming strategic
alliance. In personal relationship, they partner each other with hoping to realize their own needs
and their mutual goals. Similarly people are members of book club, investment group and
neighborhood watches synergies associated with collective rather than individual action.
Strategic alliance accomplish these things by pulling the resources, sharing risks and dividing
cost and benefits. Hence strategic alliance is a multi party relationship and regardless of
whether these partnerships occur among individuals and organizations it is divided in two
distinct elements.
In viewing strategic alliance as a process is the phase which can be divided into pre
preformation stage and post formation stage. Such steps include the rationale behind the sought
alliances.by choosing appropriate partners and types. It is therefore considered as a strategic
advantage in dealing with the precondition of goals. The central feature of these coalesced or
loosely couple SAs, in the partial pulling of resources by two or more entities to peruse definite
objective (Underhill, 2015).
