Jumaa Prayer

for the Muslims of Africa and beyond

West Africa Advanced School of Theology

December 4, 2015

Intercede for the Muslim World!

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him,
for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations (Ps. 22:27, NIV).

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

NORTHERN GHANA: An alumnus who pastors in the north has established a school system consisting of a central
school and four satellite schools, and has just opened a high school. More than 90% of the nearly 1,000 students come
from Muslim families. Many accept the Lord, he reports, and their lives are transformed. The director shares two
requests: (1) that the teachers would have an ever-growing positive influence on the children, pouring Christ into
their lives, and (2) for plans and funds to build housing so that students may board at the school.
SENEGAL: The Senegal Assemblies of God sent out its first foreign missionary about a year ago, according to their
missions director. He requests prayer that the Lord will raise up others to go. May He bless the work of the AG in this
largely Muslim country as it expands its vision to reach people groups outside its borders!
THE GAMBIA: A graduate asks us to pray for a worker and his family serving in The Gambia, a small, Muslimmajority nation in West Africa. Please pray (1) that his mission would receive favor and recognition from the Gambian
authorities, (2) that Gambians would welcome the message he brings, (3) that the Lord would watch over the family,
(4) for the acquisition of land for a church, and (5) for good collaboration with other churches in the country.

In the News
Intercede for churches, pastors, and believers in Taraba State, in the eastern part of Nigeria's Middle Belt. Over the
past few years, Christian farmers in particular have lost land, homes, and even their lives at the hands of migrating
Muslim herdsman. The cause for these violent incidents has been presented as conflicts over land rights, but research
from the Nigeria Conflict Security Analysis Network indicates a different motive: an Islamic agenda of domination
leading to actions that can be, at best, described as ethnic cleansing, and at worst, as genocide, with Christians as the
primary target. Please pray that the Holy Spirit would empower our brothers and sisters to confront the forces of
darkness that animate these herdsmen. Pray that these migrants would have a revelation of Jesus and be set free from
these evil powers. Pray for the church-planting efforts of the Assemblies of God-Nigeria in Taraba State. For more
information, see http://bit.ly/1IEtvLW.

From Global Initiative*

Pray for new church-planting efforts in the Muslim areas of Mindanao, Philippines. The Philippines Assemblies of
God trains and mobilizes church planters through its Berean School of Ministry. Their Summer of Service program
send teams of 20-25 to canvas a community and establish a new work, which is then turned over to a trained Pioneer
Pastor. Please pray for God's direction and wisdom for those whom He has called to these hard areas, and that His
Spirit would prepare hearts to receive their witness.

For Muslim Women

Intercede for wives whose husbands are imprisoned for their faith in various countries around the world, that the Lord
would encourage, strengthen, and provide for them and fill them with the peace that passes understanding.
