Dharma And Bhakti

What is Dharma?
Dharma can be seen as religion, duty or righteousness.
Dharma teaches what to do, and what not to do.
How did Dharmadev get his name?
Dharmadev used to teach and know a lot about Dharma so he got
the name Dharmadev.
Leelas on Dharma
When Maharaj was very young, he used to get up early in the morning and
going to the river with his mum to have a bath. After having a bath he
went to visit every temple in Ayodhya, and do darshan. After he done his
darshan he went home and did his pooja. Now this is maharaj setting an
example for us at a very young age. This is his leela and it is his dharma
as well. Dharma is a duty, what we should do is dharma. Bhagwan says
do not lie don't kill, their all dharma. Coming to mandir is dharma. Here
bhagwan has set an example of dharma as a leela.
Dharma's you can do now

Dont swear
Dont lie
Dont kill living things
See an ant just leave it dont kill let it go its not harming you.

How did Dharmadev get his name?

Dharmadev used to teach and know a lot about Dharma so he got
the name Dharmadev.
How did Bhaktimata get her name?
When Bhaktimata was young she used to do a lot of seva for
bhagwan and had a lot of faith in him, so she got called Bhaktimata
What is Bhakti?
Bhakti can be seen as devotion. Its a way of connecting with god.
Or seva when it is done for god with lots of love. And without bhakti
we can't have full faith in bhagwan.
There are 9 types of bhakti:
Shravan bhakti - (listening to the discourses/katha of the
Lord)
Kirtan bhakti - (singing the praises/kirtans of god)
Smaran bhakti - (to talk/chant or write about the Lord)
Padsevan bhakti - (physically serving the Lord/ bowing down
to his feet.
Archan bhakti - (performing devotional ceremonies, e.g. aarti,
applying tilak to the Lords forehead, mahapooja)

Dharma And Bhakti

Vandan bhakti - (bowing and prostrating before the Lord)
Dasya bhakti - (always remaining the Lords devout
servant/always be at his service)
Sakhya bhakti - (having a rapport with the Lord so that there
remains a total faith in His commands and His wishes are
implicitly obeyed)
Samarpan bhakti - (offering all, wealth, body and soul to the
Lord)
Leela On Bhakti:
One day dhadakachar was shaving his beard, he had already done
one side of his beard and it was all clean. And the other side still had
foam on it. And then someone came in and said "Dhada bhagwan is
calling you". Dhadakachar got up straight away, didnt even bother
to wipe his face. He rushed to bhagwan and said "Bhagwan did yu
call me?". Bhagwan responded "Dhada why havent you finished
shaving?" Dhada said " Bhagwan you called me and I'm at your
service." This is bhakti doing what maharaj said without hesitation.
Dont think its just doing mara and tilak chandlo. Those are more
physical things, but its what you feel and think inside that means
more. Always eager or willing to do something for bhagwan. Think of
everything he's given us. (Talk about pinky finger and glasses.)
Types of Bhakti:
Chandlo, when you do it people take the mick out of you. After a
while they'll get bored. Some may not, but doesnt matter do not
cuss them or swear at them. Who cares your doing it for maharaj
not them.
If someone is doing the hoover help them move things out of the
way. Help people in mandir.
Sit in katha do mara
One step at a time
Shloks On Dharma And Bhakti:

They shall never kill goats and/or other living beings in sacrifice
performed for the Yagna (propitiation) of deities and Pitris
(ancestors), for non-violence is declared by all the Shastras
(scriptures), as the highest Dharma of all the Dharmas. (12).
One shall never listen to any religious discourses from a person
whose preaching might lead one away from devotion to Lord Shree
Krishna or ones Dharma. (25)
They shall then read hymns or the religious scriptures about Lord
Shree Krishna according to their ability, and those who do not know
Sanskrit, shall sing songs in the praise of Lord Shree Krishna and
chant His name. (57)

Dharma And Bhakti

Dharma is the right conduct as authenticated by Shruti and Smruti

(scriptures). Bhakti is profound love for God coupled with
knowledge of the majesty and magnificence of Lord Shree Krishna.
