Time 60 periods
Objectives

to provide students with opportunities to explore basic knowledge about the UK in


terms of geography, education, society and lifestyle so that they can enhance their
pragmatic/socio-linguistic competence in using English in communication;
to assist students in understanding the cultural aspects introduced in secondary school
and some other popular textbooks;
to improve students skills in reading to collect information and for presentations,
critical thinking and discussing in English.
