ABSTRACT
Welding is a wide range multistate permanent fastening method of fabrication. Gl
obally welding technology has
numerous applications. The present paper deals with the analysis of distribution
of the residual stresses that act on the welded tubular T-joints. Residual stre
sses vary according to the varying temperatures on the joint. The equivalent str
esses and other stresses are calculated from the theoretically calculated inputs
. The theoretical inputs are given to the analysis software ANSYS Workbench i.e.
heat flux, temperature and young s modulus of the material selected for the joint
.
The model i.e. T-joint including with the weld region is designed in d
esigning software CATIA and the model is imported to ANSYS for analysis.

ABSTRACT
The research paper focuses on the Topology optimization by the objective of opti
mizing/reducing unsprung weight in the form of alloy wheel, ultimately which lea
ds to weight reduction of a four wheeler for the vehicular applications. The wei
ght of the Automobile is one of the most important factor that affecting fuel ec
onomy. Rim wheels plays a significant role in light weight commercial automobile
s so that weight minimization of wheel has more effective than the weight optimi
zation of elsewhere in a vehicle due to the rotational moment of inertia effect
during motion. Therefore for this reason the wheel design should be optimized by
considering fundamental attributes of a light commercial vehicle. So that a man
ufacturer can produce a more number of Alloy wheels for the same cost and a cons
umer can be benefited by increasing the fuel economy, so it is so much benefited
to the manufacturer, customer as well as consumer also. In this way the investi
gation is started from designing an alloy wheel in Pro-E & Optimizing, analyzing
in FEMAP and comparing at different manufacturing constraints of an alloy wheel
.
