LISTING OF CHANGES TO REVISION 6.5:

Changes in port repair policy

Modified CP/FP Passport Card Crash Procedures.

OVERVIEW:
Objective:
This document is meant to standardize the way Infonet support personal troubleshoots
and maintains the passport network. This document will cover how the Passport nodes
are commissioned, how the Passport trunks are monitored and maintained and how the
hardware maintenance is performed.

Background:
Now That the Passport network is fully deployed, the NMC, GTS and others will now
have to monitor and maintain service levels on this cutting edge technology. Some old
type of network support procedures will no longer be applicable and yet others remain
the basics today as they did with TDM.
This document will try to dispel myths and reveal secrets discovered about Magellan
product line that will help in the monitoring and maintaining of the Infonet Passport
network.

HARDWARE:
The Passports are now being maintained by Infonets SMP, (Self-Maintenance Program)
organization. They mostly bring out replacement cards and swap them. No real troubleshooting is
performed. It is left up to both the NMC and the TSE to determine what the actual failed
component is. The following represents official procedures in troubleshooting mostly FP port
problems.
Currently the customer is inconvenience by having a port failure impact their service, then we
inconvenience them again when we move them back to the original port to use their modem and
FR access to test the repaired card or panel. This is unacceptable and the following procedures
are to be used in such cases. When a FP port involves an IP or X.25 trunk, it is preferred that the
service be placed back on to its original port to maintain diversity issues.
The Passport network, at this point in time, now has both 160 and 50 type nodes deployed. Over
the period of deployment, we slowly found an excessive amount of bad FPs DOA. This forced
Infonet to modify its commissioning procedures. Below are the official procedures for
commissioning a new Passport nodes:

PASSPORT COMMISSIONING PROCEDURES:

In the case of the node located in South Africa, SEM will assist the South African Telecom
(SAT)site engineers in the following procedures. It is to be assumed, that Infonet support
personnel are to direct the SAT engineers through the following procedures and must
accept limited access to the node in doing so. Where a TSE is stated, assume it
represents a SAT engineer.

ACTIONS:

TSE AND FIELD SUPPORT:

1. The following procedure should be followed to install the master CP and correctly synchronize
the secondary CP.
2. Remove any previously inserted CP from the Passport shelf, by simply disengaging the CP
from the Passport bus and retract the card a few centimeters if the CP cannot be safely
stored outside of the cabinet.
3. Remove the CP from the box shipped from El Segundo, (another set of these instructions will
be taken from that box), and insert the CP into Slot 0.

Verify that the CP inserted into slot 0 is active (wait 5-10 minutes) by:
Ensuring the CP LED is in a solid green state.
Issuing the 'display fs' and 'display fs disk/0' commands from the local operator port.
Verify disk volume label is CP Disk.

4. Insert the second CP into Slot 15.

5. Connect a terminal to console port and perform the following provisioning commands for CP
15:
The terminal should be setup as a VT100 9600bps, 8,N,1.

Start P

set shelf card/15 cardtype CP

set lp/0 sparecard shelf card/15

check p

save p

activate p

conf p

commit p

end p
6. Verify the CP inserted into slot 15 is in standby mode (wait 5-10 minutes) by:

Ensuring the CP LED is in a flashing green state.

Issuing the 'display fs' and 'display fs disk/15' commands from the local operator port.
7. Issue the 'sync fs' command. The standby CP (slot 15) will sync off the CP (slot 0) over the
next hour. You may verify the progress of the synchronization by issuing the 'display fs'
command again.
8. Verify the two CP's are synchronized.

NODE ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURES

In the case of the node located in South Africa, SEM will assist the South African Telecom
(SAT)site engineers in the following procedures. It is to be assumed, that Infonet support
personnel are to direct the SAT engineers through the following procedures and must
accept limited access to the node in doing so. Where a TSE is stated, assume it
represents a SAT engineer.

ACTIONS:

NMC AND FIELD SUPPORT:

1. Perform the following Passport commands from PP0000:

d shelf bus/x
(Verify all installed components report ok status)

d shelf bus/y
(Verify all installed components report ok status)

d shelf card/x ( x = all installed FP's )

(Verify cards report enable and active)

d fs
(Verify file system is active and synchronized)

d rtg dpn mid/*

(All defined MIDs in the network should be listed)

os pcsShowCards
(All installed cards should be present)

If above component report clean, Nortel technician is cleared to leave.

AVOIDING DAMAGE FROM STATIC ELECTRICITY

TSE:
To avoid damage from static electricity, when handling circuit cards follow these rules:
Do not handle circuit cards unless you are using appropriate anti-static protection, such as an
anti-static wrist strap. In addition Northern Telecom also recommends use of conductive carpet,
conductive shoes, or heel grounders.
If you are wearing an anti-static wrist strap, it must be attached to a good ground to ensure that
static buildup is discharged harmlessly. When a Magellan Passport cabinet is fully grounded, you
can use the electrostatic discharge (ESD) jack on the shelf assembly. Handle circuit cards by the
faceplate or stiffener. Do not touch electrical connections, pins, or soldered surfaces.

SELF MAINTENACE PROCEDURES:

If any ports or cards test defective, please follow the following instructions for equipment
replacement:

The defective part is to be replaced with the on-site spare once it has been determined that
the part has failed. At this time, a trouble ticket has been opened for fault isolation and to
track the process.

The defective part should then be returned to depot and the "return tag" should be attached

Handle circuit cards by the
face plate or stiffener. Do not touch electrical connections, pins, or soldered surfaces.

TESTING PASSPORT DS1C/E1C DS0S:

In the case of the node located in South Africa, the NCC is to assist the South African
Telecom (SAT) site engineers in the following procedures. It is to be assumed, that
Infonet support personnel are to direct the SAT engineers through the following
procedures and must accept limited access to the node in doing so. Where a TSE is
stated, assume it represents an SAT engineer.

PART 1
ACTIONS:

NMC / TSE / FIELD SUPPORT:

Figure # 6. Outlines the concept overview of the DS1C/E1C project. It shows the various
places in the network where loops can be made in order to take advantage of the Passport
Manual Test.
1. The operator is to first identify the correct timeslot for the customer in question. They may do
so by interrogating Passman tool as follows;
First pull up the DS1C card and view timeslot overview. Example; Torrance Sales Office is
currently occupying Timeslot 0 of the groomed T1 (M-24) circuit. See Figure # 7.
Then pull up the T1 circuit and note the PTT and circuit ID#. See Figure # 8.
Assuming the problem is DS0 on LP/13 ds1/2 ch/0.
LP/13 = DS1C card is inserted into slot 13.
DS1/2 = T1 circuit is attached to port 2 of the DS1C. (Up to 4 M-24 circuits can be
attached to a DS1C/E1C card)
CH/0 = Identifier for the bundled or singled DS0s. (Timeslots 1, 2, 3 can be bundled
into a single channel CH/0, this will represent a 192K channel.)
Inform the PTT that you would like them to loopback the bundled or individual DS0(s) on the
Groomed T1 back toward the Passport. (Some PTT(s) refer to these Bundled DS0(s) as
channels). This is usually performed at the DACS equipment itself.

MAKE IT CLEAR YOU DO NOT WANT THEM TO LOOP THE T1 IN ANYWAY!

2. Perform the following Passport commands:

Set Lp/13 ds1(e1)/2 ch/0 test type manual

Set Lp/13 ds1(e1)/2 ch/0 test duration 3600

REFER TO APPENDIX K
ACTIONS:

NMC / TSE / FIELD SUPPORT:

1. The operator is to first identify the T1 for the customer in question. They may do so by
interrogating Passman tool as follows;
First pull up the DS1C card and view timeslot overview. Example; Torrance Sales Office is
currently occupying Timeslot 0 of the groomed T1(M-24) circuit. See Figure # 7.
Then pull up the T1 circuit and notate the PTT and circuit ID#.
Inform the PTT that you would like them to loopback the entire groomed T1 back toward the
Passport. (Some PTT(s) refer to these as M-24s). This is usually prformed at the DACS
equipment itself.
2. Perform the following Passport commands:

Set Lp/13 ds1(e1)/2 test type manual

Set Lp/13 ds1(e1)/2 test duration 3600

Set Lp/13 ds1(e1)/2 test interval 1

Lock Lp/13 ds1(e1)/2

Start Lp/13 ds1(e1)/2 test

Wait for the test interval and verify the following;

Ensure Rx bytes are incrementing

erroredFrmRx
= 00
bitErrorRate = 00+00
Stop Lp/13 ds1(e1)/2 test
If the test passed perform the following.

AVOIDING DAMAGE FROM STATIC ELECTRICITY

TSE:
1. To avoid damage from static electricity, when handling circuit cards follow these rules:
Do not handle circuit cards unless you are using appropriate anti-static protection, such
as an anti-static wrist strap. In addition Northern Telecom also recommends use of
conductive carpet, conductive shoes, or heel grounders.
If you are wearing an anti-static wrist strap, it must be attached to a good ground to
ensure that static buildup is discharged harmlessly. When a Magellan Passport cabinet is
fully grounded, you can use the electrostatic discharge (ESD) jack on the shelf assembly.
Handle circuit cards by the face plate or stiffener. Do not touch electrical connections,
pins, or soldered surfaces.

NETWORK TROUBLESHOOTING:
OVERVIEW
The Passport was deployed with V.35 and X.21 FP cards. Infonet utilized these
cards as trunking between nodes. This was done purely for monetary reasons.
At the time Nortel only provided 1 and 2 port trunk cards. If deployed using
these cards, some nodes would have been nothing but trunks, i.e., LON and
BRU. The expense in deploying this configuration would been too prohibitive.
Unfortunately the V.35 and X.21 cards have limited networking monitoring
unlike IDNX trunk cards. This is an unfortunate realization but not
insurmountable.

Node Operational Communication Isolation Procedures

Node Communication Isolation is defined as unable to Telnet to a specific Passport node. It is
possible that the node is operational, but operational communication has been severed. This
outlines a procedure to regain Operational Communication back to the node.

ACTIONS:

NMC:
When unable to access a Passport node through the NMC or via a telnet session, the most likely
cause is that we lost the Internet Protocol Interface Virtual Circuit (IPIFR) connection to that
specific node and needs to be reset. Follow the below procedure to reset an IPIFR to a node.
1. Verify that the node is NOT isolated by checking the neighboring nodes trunks into it.

Verify via the Passport Node Manager (on the LAN) the individual DPN access module (MID)
to the node in question. This is under view node on the right column of the IP address. An
example is PP1400 is MID 750.

2. From the Passport CMD Console, try and ping to the node.(example: ping rtg dpn mid/750) If
the ping is operational, this indicates that the node is up and running. It probably indicates
that the IPIFR link between the NMS and the node has been compromised.
3. If no response, the trunks feeding the node are receiving excessive errors, or a trunk feeding
the path to that node is receiving errors.
4. From the NMS, telnet to NTBRU via a UNIX window. If you are NMCBRU you will need to
logon to NTLOS, if you are NMCLAX you will need to logon to NTBRU.

Perform the following from either NTLOS or NTBRU;

telnet ntbru <CR>
Login:
ntsup <CR>
Password: (cannot display pwd due to ISO regulations)

5. From NTBRU, you should be able to ping the node in question. If pingable, then telnet to the
node.

From NTBRU,
telnet PPxxxx <CR>
Login:
befut <CR>
Password: (cannot display pwd due to ISO regulations)

Identify the destination of the LCN (logical channel number) associated with NTLOSs IP
address, by typing in d IPIFR lcn/* <CR> (204.79.141.241 is the IP address for NTLOS)

Reset the LCN associated with IP addr 204.79.141.241 with the lock/unlock command.

further assistance. If now accessible, logout of the node, exit NTBRU, and exit out of
NTLOS.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE:
OVERVIEW
The Passport nodes are designed to be low maintenance, but require quarterly
review. Below is an outline of procedures for the TSE to use when performing
the PM.

NMS SUPPORT:
OVERVIEW
The Passport has an NMS system to help support and maintain the very
complex Passport network. Its features include network mapping, network
alarm notification, network provisioning and network access. This NMS runs
under a UNIX platform. This section has been developed to note complex
procedures in the event such occurrences happen.

NMS Passport Reboot Procedures

ACTIONS:

TSE-NMC:

Note: before rebooting the NMS, please contact B.E.

1. Go to TOOLS, select UTILITIES, select UNIX ACCESS
2. At NTLOS prompt, type su root CR, then close all other open windows
3. Type in sync sync sync CR
4. Type in reboot CR (this may take up to 5 minutes, after which login prompt will appear)
5. At login prompt type in ntsup CR, (cannot display pwd here due to ISO regulations)
6. Wait for PAMS to initialize (status text window at top right half of screen)

Open UNIX window

Login as root (su root)
Leave UNIX window open

7. Go to TOOLS, select NMS ADMIN, select GMDR ADMIN

(window will appear to which you move and click to open)

8. Select SECURITY, select LOGIN (ADMIN), select O.K. (no password needed)
9. Ensure all CSIMs and FMDRs, are in a Connected state.
10. Go to TOOLS, select NMS ADVISOR, select ALARM DISPLAY, select ACTIVE ALARMS
(be sure to start Alarms in LOG MODE only)

11. At NTLOS prompt type cd /home2/tools/alarms/macros CR

12. Type ls CR, look for file start.alarm.log
13. Type exactly start.Alarm.Log & CR
14. Go to TOOLS, select COMMAND CONSOLE, select SECURITY,then select CONNECT
15. Login to AMERICAS, EMEA, & PACRIM, userid = ntsup (cannot display pwd here due to
ISO regulations) NOTE: use the standard ntsup password

16. At the bottom of CMD Console, type in . CR, then type in .PP1400 CR. You should now
have connectivity to PP1400 LAX.

17. (NOTE: A total of approximately 70 components should be connected. This may take 10-15
minutes to populate the NMS)

18. BEFORE PROCEEDING, insure the oncall NETRSM person has instructed the NMC on any
oustanding file issues (such as pollers, alarms, etc...). At this time, NETRSM may want to
WAIT, on starting the below files at a later time due to congestion on the NTPP NMS.

19. At the NTLOS prompt, type cd /home2/tools/statistics CR, then type ls col* CR
(the file being sought is collectStats1.0)

20. Then type ./collectStats1.0 trkpoll passive PACRIM 600 & CR, FOR NTLOS ONLY!
21. Then type ./collectStats1.0 trkpoll passive AMERICAS 600 & CR FOR NTLOS ONLY!

then your screen will fill with alarms and data .
24. You may then start another UNIX window if needed

NMS Delta Command Procedures

OVERVIEW
The purpose of this command macro is to eliminate constant operator queries in determining if
there are problems being experienced on a Passport trunk. Nortel developed this macro because
there was no way for operators to clear the counters. This macro can also be used for various
statistical components as described below.

ACTIONS:

TSE-NMC:

NOTE: This must be done from the NMS Command Console only.
1. Open the command console on the NMS

Ensure the console is connected to the desired region

example = AMERICAS, EMEA, or PACRIM

2. Type . then enter

3. Type in the following command structure:

$ppdelta (int), (rep) (att) (PPxxxx) (com)

OVERVIEW:
The backbone network is comprised of the Passport network, the IDNX isolated nodes and the
circuits which connect them. In case of trouble involving these networks, BACKBONE SYSTEMS
MANAGEMENT AND ENGINEERING BSME) is now considered as 3rd level support. Please
find the names and numbers for 3rd level coverage under the BSME web page address;

Figure 28...BSME Support Page

BACKBONE ON CALL PROCEDURES:

Please follow this procedure for help on any problems related to the Northern
Telcom Passport and NET IDNX Network.
1. Call Global Technical Support (GTS) 2nd Level person on-call.
Note: THIS MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO CALLING 3RD LEVEL.
2. If unable to contact GTS person on-call then call Engineering Operations Resource
Management(NETRSM) person on-call for the paticular problem type listed above.
PLEASE CALL THE INDIVIDUALS AT HOME FIRST!
3. If no response then issue a page.
4. Proceed down the list until someone is reached.
5. If unable to contact GTS/NETRSM, then call Glen Williams.
NOTE: If on-call list changes, a revised message will be sent. The above
information is also updated in the following directory;
GLOBAL_SUPPORT/DATA:ENG\ONCALL\Passport.txt and Backbone.txt

APPENDIX E
Bit Error Rate Calculation
BER is the ratio between the number of bit errors and the total number of bits transmitted. The
error rate is measured by using either a parity check or a bit-error rate test set (BERT)
The error rate, r, is calculated as follows:
r= BER x bit rate
Legend:
T = Elapsed measurement time.
n = Number of errors counted during T
C = Confidence level (Probability) that the error rate is less than r
The probability of measuring n = 0 is:
P(0) = e

-rT

(Poisson distribution)

The Poissson distribution is used since the occurrance of one error bit does not affect the
occurrance of another.

Acceptable Grade of Service

The error-free period is given by:
T = -Ln(1-C)/r
Example
-6
BER = 10
Line Rate = 128K
C = 0.99
-6
-3
r = BER x bit rate = 1.28 x 10 x 128 kbps = 1.28 x 10
-3
T = -Ln(1-0.99)/1.28 x 10 = 36 seconds
-6

A BER of 10 implies performance of one error bit in 10 bits. For a 128 kbps circuit, 10 bits
6
3
can be collected in 7.8 seconds (10 /128 x 10 ). However, for a confidence level of 0.99 that
3
the error rate is less than r = 1.28 x 10 /second, the collection measurement should be 36
seconds.

Data Transmission
A BER of 10-7 is typical in terrestrial digital transmission link. However, the acceptable
industry BER for data transmission is 10-6. A BER of 10-5 is not acceptable on digital
systems although it is typical for modem and satellite transmissions.

To prevent interruption of service, it is recommended that the power for each

converter of a fully equipped node be supplied froman uninterruptable power

APPENDIX J
Recovering Loadfiles
There are two ways to recover a missing loadfile and there are two versions of
loadfiles to recover. Loadfiles produced via Passman can be recoverd under
Passman, the other types are produced under Digeridoo. There is one other
method and that is one that is produced by hand and unless the author notates
where the original file can be found, there is no practical way of recovering this
type of file.

LoadFiles Produced Under Passman;

Only FRUNI type files are produced under Passman. Both FR customers and Infolan. If either of
these types of files are missing perform the following instructions:

Open PASSMAN
Select View
Select dot-part files
Select node......Double click
Select missing part files
View part file to ensure contents are correct
Select add
Select send
Confirm part file replacement number
Close
Load file in the normal manner.

LoadFiles Produced Under Digeridoo;

Only FRUNI and HTDS type files are produced under Passman. Both FR customers, Siemens
and Infolan. If either of these types of files are missing perform the following instructions:

Login into Digeridoo

cd /nsconf/passport/tools/config/passport
ls cfg0000.???.............(0000 refers to Node # and ??? refers to sequence #)
This should list all files associated to the node number and should reveal cfg file outlined in
the ico like ........so;
NETRSM: PASSPORT PROVISIONING
1. PROVISION PASSPORT 3300/45 as follows
linkmode = DCE
(cfg3300.024)
linkspeed = 64000
From the current directory under Digeridoo perform the following to FTP the file to the node:

ftp Ppxxxx............(xxxx refers to passport node number)

login: process
password: (not revealed due to ISO restrictions)
ftp> cd provisioning
ls
this will list current part and full files on the nodes provisioning directory. If you are replacing
a missing files then type the following;

put cfg0000.??? PP0000.part.???........... (0000 refers to Node # and ??? refers to sequence
#)
ls.........................(ensure PP0000.part.??? is now in the directory)
bye.......................(this will disconnect the current ftp session)
Load file in the normal manner.

APPENDIX L: Johannesburg South Africa Special Procedures

OVERVIEW:
Objective:
This document is meant to standardize the way Infonet support personal troubleshoots
and maintains the passport node that is currently housed by South African Telecom. This
document will cover how the Passport node and trunks are monitored and maintained
and how the hardware maintenance is performed.
The issue to consider is that all previous procedures apply unless stated
otherwise in this appendix.

Background:
A special arrangement has been established between Infonet and South African
Telecom. The agreement arranges for Infonet to place equipment at an SAT hotel and
share in its maintenance and ongoing support.
Essentially, Infonet GCAC, NCC and GTS will share the burden of monitoring and
supporting the Passport node in South Africa. This also applies to other overlay
equipment, which is housed at the SAT hotel. Only Frame Relay traffic is allowed to be
passed through this node, thusly, IP and X.25 customers have been converted to FR
prior to migration.

ENHANCED ALARM DETECTION AND MEANINGS

The following alarms have been filtered through to NETCOOL in order to assist the support
groups. An explanation has been provided to help understand the changes that might occur in
the network. Uniquely related to the topology when managing two RIDS.

ACTIONS:
The support groups should treat the following alarms with utmost importance, as they indicate a
breakdown of the Passport filtering, or Firewall if you will. Below, we have indicated both cause
and affects as well as what actions should be taken in the event of such an alarm ever is
received.

NCC/GTS:

7009 0202

Component Severity Status

Rtg Top critical message
Legend
None.
Details
A neighbor node, in the host node's routing area, is provisioned with the same node identifier as
the host node. The trunk between them will be automatically disabled.
If this alarm occurs, it could indicate a problem with the trunk system, since this situation should
be alarmed as 7005 0304.
Remedial action
Reprovision either this node's identifier or the node identifier of the remote node.
This could indicate that PP2702s RID number has been changed to RID38, thus breaking down
the firewall. The appropriate action is already taken by the network by downing the trunks, but if
this fails to happen it is suggested that both GTS and 3rd level get involved immediately and
assess correctly the situation as this will cause the node to be isolated.

7009 0502

Component Severity Status

Rtg Dpn critical message
Legend
None.
Details
Broadcast data received from a neighbor module is originated from a node with a different Rid
value from this node.
Remedial action
Reprovision the module with the Rid of the subnet.
This could indicate that PP2702s RID number has been changed to RID0, thus breaking down
the firewall. The appropriate action is to take the network by downing the trunks, it is suggested
that both GTS and 3rd level get involved immediately and assess correctly the situation as this
will cause the node to be isolated.

0000 9000

Legend
<component_name> = any Passport component
Details
An internal software error has been detected by a component. This alarm index is
re-used by many subsystems upon detection of various types and severities of
internal errors. Thus, one instance of an alarm with this index may be totally
unrelated to another instance. In some cases, it is possible that the alarm comment
text can give a hint about what has happened.
Because the circumstances which caused this event are unexpected, the impact can
vary on a case-by-case basis from no impact at all to possibly a severe impact. In
the latter case, it may be accompanied by other alarms.
The problem may or may not be reproducible. If the circumstances are known, this
can greatly help the resolution of the problem.
Remedial action
Contact your local Nortel Networks technical support group.
Component Severity Status
<component_name> indeterminate message
This could indicate that PP2702s RID number has been changed to RID0, thus breaking down
the firewall. The appropriate action is to take the network by downing the trunks, it is suggested
that both GTS and 3rd level get involved immediately and assess correctly the situation as this
will cause the node to be isolated.
Text/English to accompany the alarm:
"The Regionid for node PP2702 has been changed. Please contact Ed Kirstein (phone/pager/email) IMMEDIATELY".
NCC Action to the Alarm:
Once the NCC is presented w/ the alarm, they must immediately contact Ed Kirstein
(phone/pager/e-mail) of this occurrence.

NETWORK TROUBLESHOOTING:
OVERVIEW
In an effort to provide network topology and routing security between the new 'co-managed'
South African node and Infonet's Passport network, a new Region ID and RID filtering will be
implemented. The implementation of a unique/different topology Region ID within the new South
African Passport node will effectively restrict the exchange of OSPF topology databases (Infonet
Region ID - 75, SA Region ID - 105), and therefore MID's/nodes within that region will only be
seen. RID filters implemented on the interconnecting 'regional boundary' Infonet node (i.e. DOC)
will effectively limit Infonet's routing architecture to the South African node and still allow a
seamless interworking for Infonet's customer base (i.e. PVCs will still be built successfully
between the two different regions/RID's).There are slight differences to support the node in this
manner. Three sections cover the main differences, Topology/tracing, Alarming and provisioning
procedures.

CONFIGURATION AND DISPLAY COMMAND CONSIDERATIONS

INFONET JNB RID-105 (NODE PP-2702) CONFIGURATION
BSME should proceed with standard Infonet Passport installation procedures for the new
SA/JNB node, with the addition of the following;
PROV> set mod regionId 105
PROV> set rtg dpn routingid 105
A call establishment process will need to be provisioned on the new SA/JNB node. This process
will be CR (Passport Call router), and it will interwork with DPRS for VC call establishment.
PROV> add cr
PROV> add cr npi/x121
PROV> add cr npi/x121 dna/3137827
PROV> set cr npi/x121 dna/31370 routingid 38
PROV> set cr npi/x121 dna/3137827 routingid 0, moduleid xxxx
(where xxxx is assigned by BSME)

SUPPORTING PASSPORT DISPLAY COMMANDS

To display the Regionid of the node;

> d -p mod
To display the routingid (RID) that this node is a part of;
> d -p rtg dpn
To display ridfilter components;
> d -p rtg dpn ridfilter/*
> d -p rtg dpn ridfilter/105
To display the call router dna mapping;
> d -p cr npi/x121 dna/*

Figure 32...South African Topology and Addressing
The South African node is separated by addressing. By changing the node to a different RID
number, the trunk connecting it can be filtered, thus providing security. AS you can see the DNA
addressing has changed. If a PVC is destined for PP2702, the Passman tool will change the
DNIC addressing to reflect an 8. This will instruct the CSRMs to route the PVCs to the UTP
gateway.
See next section for instructions on how to trace a PVC through the UTP gateway.
