Professor David Dozier to Speak at the


Public Relations Society of America International Conference

SAN DIEGO – The Public Relations Society of America has selected a professor from San
Diego State University’s School of Journalism and Media Studies, one of the top-ranked public
relations programs in the United States, to speak at the 2009 International Conference in San
Diego.

As a scholar of public relations and communication management, Dr. David Dozier has been
chosen among professionals from around the nation to lead one of many interactive sessions and
workshops in order to provide an informative and insightful look into the trends of the industry
and the changes that face the profession.

“I’ve studied the effects of quantitative research methods for more than 30 years,” said Dozier.
“It’s proven to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the educational community to the
professional community, and I am honored to be the guide of my fellow colleagues.”

Dozier will speak on Nov. 8, from 4:45 to 6 p.m. “How Much Does My Baby Cost? An Analysis
of Gender Differences in Income, Career Interruption and Child Bearing” will be a session of the
conference addressing the outcomes of various case studies within public relations strategic
research and how it delivers value for all organizations. As a recognized expert on research
applications to communication management, he is author and co-author of more than 50 books,
book chapters, articles and scholarly papers.

Dozier was the 2008 recipient of PRSA’s Outstanding Educator Award, presented at last year’s
conference in Detroit. The award recognizes significant contribution to the advancement of
public relations education through college or university teaching.
