ABSTRACT

The Advanced English dictionary defines Body Mass Index (BMI) as the measure of
someones weight with relation to ones height. In calculating ones Body Mass Index, his
or her weight in kilogram is divided by his or her height in meter squared. The Body
Mass Index is a scale for the determination of ones body weight into four categories;
underweight with Body Mass Index scores of less than 18.5, normal weight with BMI
scores of between 18.5 and 24.9, overweight with BMI scores between 25 and 29.9 and
obese with BMI scores of 30 and above.
The scheme of our proposal classifying the status of Body Mass Index (BMI) of a
group of 30 people in average using microcontroller, sensors, software, QR code, etc. It
by design computes the BMI of each person one at a time. Before getting into it, t each
person should have a QR code so that the data gathered will be transferred to the
computer. Once you stepped in the platform, the device subsequently will sensor the
measurement of your height and will get your weight. The software, specifically
Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW) is the one
accountable of computing your BMI and displaying the statistical data and individual data
if demanded. Also, Arduino IDE 1.0.5 is the one that serves as the programming
language of the microcontroller in the system.
By this, as the output of the real-time signal processing system, anyone tested on the
project can be aware of the level of their overall fitness and the risk of developing certain
diseases. This project is constructive especially to those who are health conscious in the
sense that the access of watching your BMI is very easy given that it automatically
categorizes your level without any manual computation and of course for the typical
problem, forgetting the right formu

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We would like to put across our special thanks of gratitude to our Lord, God
Almighty, for He strengthen and fortify us to fruitfully do this project. Secondly, we are
grateful to our parents for their never-ending support not just financially but as well as
their boundless shore up everytime we need them. To the person behind this, Engr.
Micaela Renee Bernardo, MEPECE, who gave us the golden opportunity to do this
breathtaking project on the topic Ameliorated Body Mass Index Monitoring System and
who also helped us in her numerous ways in accordance to this project. We are also
thankful to her on the way she lets us chose our own group members making it easy to
muddle through. Of course, we are very thankful for one another because we can
humbly say that we helped out each other through thick-and-thin in order to tie up this
project within the limited time frame.
We also credit thanks to our friends and classmates who cheered us up in order
for us to be optimized doing this. To those hobbyists on forums, social media sites, etc.,
who we havent met personally but very much fond keeping in touched just to be
engaged in our project.
We know thank you is never enough for the help and reach out you have given.
Godbless everyone!
