1.0

INTRODUCTION
This specification covers the technical requirements for the design, supply,
manufacture, testing, packing & delivery of the electrical cables trays to site
for establishment of xxxxxxxxx project.

2.0

CODES & STANDARDS

Unless otherwise specified in this specification, all components and
equipment shall be based on the following standard:

1)

NEMA FGI-198X

Electrical test methods for electrical cables

ASTM E-84

Specification for polyethylene insulation and sheath of

electric cables

Certificate issued by an internationally recognized testing authority may be

acceptable at the owner's decision. In case of different standards regarding
equipment and materials, the Standard in the country where the equipment
and materials are manufactured shall apply, provided they are compatible
with the above standards and safety requirements.

Supply of all other items, not specified here but, necessary for safe,
satisfactory and Supply of any other items required to make the system
completes as per this technical specification to the clients satisfaction

3.0

SITE CONDITIONS
The equipment and materials to be supplied and installed by the vendor shall
be suitable for continuous and trouble free operation at 50C.

4.0

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

4.1

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
All materials used in the manufacture of cable Trays shall comply with the
latest relevant applicable standards and shall be of such quality, type and
design to satisfy the following.
a.

The cable trays shall be supplied in standard length of 3000mm and

clear width of trays shall be 150, 300, 450 and 600mm. A minimum
tolerance of width and length allowable shall be 6%.

b.

All cable trays and its associated accessories shall be made of the fiber
glass and shall be corrosion resistant and fire retardant (Class 1, Fire
rating) in accordance with the latest ASTM E-84.

c.

Cable trays shall be perforated type and manufactured in accordance

with NEMA FGI-198x and ASTM E-84 Standards.

d.

Cable trays shall be manufactured from FRP material with UV protection

features, an additive material shall be mixed with the fiber glass to make
them resistant to ultraviolet light.

e.

Cable trays shall be covered by removable top covers on upper most

tires allowing adequate ventilation.

f.

5.0

QUALITY ASSURANCE
All materials supplied by Vendor shall be new and comply with the
specifications. When material are not specified on the specifications, Vendor
shall provide such material as are fit for the purposes for which they are to be
used and that have been proven to be resistant to those elements, pressures
and chemicals with which they are expected, in accordance with the
specifications, to come into contact.
The quality of the materials supplied by Vendor in accordance with the terms
set forth in this article may be verified at any time by Purchaser.

The Quality Plan shall be submitted by the vendor for review by the Client
and the Purchase shall be in accordance with the Test and Inspection
Procedure.

6.0

TESTING AND INSPECTION

All cable trays manufactured shall give a neat appearance whilst providing
supports, security and accessibility. Furthermore these items shall be
subjected to the following tests and inspections shall be conducted by the
Vendor/Manufacturer, together with submission of test result/inspection
certificates where applicable prior to dispatch from the place of manufacture.

PACKING
The cable trays with accessories for installation shall be packed in suitable
crates to prevent damage during transportation.
