INTEGRATIVE ESSAY
I thought I already know enough of people. It turns out that theres
always a room for improvement. And one cannot know enough of people.
Each person has his own identity and story. Your approach to one person may
not be effective to another. However, PERSEF2 engaged my senses on how
to look at people and try to understand them.
I appreciated Relationships module the most. So far, I get to talk to
people easily but I often have a hard time maintaining these relationships.
Thats how I learned that I usually do the sampling and bargaining stage of
relationships and less likely to commit myself. Perhaps, I want to know more
stories? Or perhaps I just dont want to be committed.
Throughout the term, I often would come to class sleepy. I think the
schedule does not fit my circadian rhythm. However, I try to make the most
of my time spent in the classroom. Thats why if there are things that need
clarification or perhaps cases I want to test to theory in, I did not hesitate to
ask. Also, during group works, I can say that I would often lead the group so
that wed do our job and enjoy it well.
Apparently, I daresay that Im managing my self well but I admit that
its not good enough. There are holes that need to filled and this course
presented me the means to do just that. I learned some techniques on how
to cope with stress, with myself and with other people. Furthermore, my love
for general community, not to be confused with nation or state, grew fonder.
Why did I say general community? Its because I dont want to label who I
would like to help. I am not going to limit my aid to those who share my
nationality or views. I will try not to stereotype because it narrows my vision.
I will be open-minded.
On my career plans, I believe this course has provided most students
of what they need. But I am not one of most students. True enough, I may be
an employee for some time. But, I already have a vision of becoming my own
boss, to be an entrepreneur. Also, PERSEF2 shared what is in practice today
in the field of work. However, I want to change the status quo. They say you
should wear formal wear to an interview. I dont want to see that. I want, if
ever, the applicants to come just the way the would come to work. I want
them to express who they are and not be limited to what is in tradition. For if
we let them express themselves, for if we let them share their ideologies
without fear, for if we let them do what is beneficial to the community, then
we would not need rules on how to run things. We would have a generation
of creative, open-minded and loving people who respect each other and
works for the benefit of the community.

With these in mind, PERSEF2 did teach me some things that would be
of good use to me. But, it also helped me think critically of what are the
things we are required to know, how these work but also how I can change
these things.
