Brochure
Description: This is a brochure to advertise and
provide information on The Romance Theater in
Rexburg, Idaho.

Date: 12/6/15
Course/Instructor: COMM 130. Brother Pingel.
Program(s): Illustrator. InDesign. Photoshop.
Objectives: To advertise and provide information
on The Romance Theater.

Process: I used Illustrator to create a logo for the


Theater company. Then I chose four images to use
for the brochure. I used Photoshop to fade out the
images and split them. I used the lasso tool, the select tool, I changed the colors, the opacity, brushes. For the end results I used InDesign to design
and bring together the brochure. I used textwrap
for the images on the inside of the brochure.

IMAGING
Description: This is an inspirational and motivational image. It contains my own original photo
along with a quote and supporting symbols.

Objectives: It is an inspirational and motivational image.

Process: I took my own photo earlier this semester. Using Photoshop I cropped the image,
removing some of the lower bit of the photo. Then
I found a quote I thought matched and enhanced
the photo. Next I chose a color scheme

LETTERHEAD
Description: A letterhead design for the company The End Records.

Objectives: To express through design what
kind of record company it is.

Process: I used both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign to create these. The logos were made
in Illustrator and the letterhead and cards were
finished in InDesign. I played around with the
placement of bricks, and what word should stand
out the most.

BUSINESS CARD
Description: A business card design for the
company The End Records.

Date: 11/8/15

Objectives: To express through design what
kind of record company it is.

Process: I used both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign to create these. The logos were made
in Illustrator and the letterhead and cards were
finished in InDesign. I played around with the
placement of bricks, and what word should stand
out the most.

LOGOS
Description: This is a project made in Adobe
Illustrator to recreate logos for a company and
choose the best one.

Program(s): Illustrator.
Objectives: To promote the company.
Process: For this project I used Adobe Illustrator
2015. For the symbol within the logo I used the
pen tool, dragging the image, pulling and crossing
over itself. Then I put in the companys name, fitting it alongside the symbol so that it would flow
one to the other. To balance it out I placed a line
underneath the companys name.

MONTAGE
Description: This is a spiritual montage of images with an inspirational, spiritual quote that represents storms and how we react to them.

Program(s): Photoshop.
Objectives: Spiritual; no matter what storms
come at us we can withstand it.

Process: I layered the images and text, first using


a tool to cut out the image of the storm from its
own picture and adding it to the image of the temple, the background image. I made used a mask
and two different filters. I copied the image of the
storm and put the copy under the first, and darkened the copy, bringing out more of the purple and
blues. The first image of the storm I lightened up
and blended with the background image.

WEB PAGE
Description: This is a web page designed for
The End Records, a record company in New York.
Its purpose is to show my skills working with
CSS and HTML to create and design a web page.

Program(s): HTML. CSS. Photoshop.


Objectives: This is to explain the companys
logo. The colors, audience, design, and tools that
went into it.

Process: I collaborated HTML with CSS to create this web design. I used Textwrangler to edit
the coding. Along with these I used Photoshop
to pull out exact color codes to match the design
and text colors to the logo. Within CSS I changed
the text colors, size, and font families.

EVENT AD
Description: This is a colored Event Ad promoting an event in favor of a charity.

Date: 10/11/15
Course/Instructor: COMM 130. Brother Pingel.

Program(s): Microsoft Word.


Objectives: This is advertising an event (Zombie Chase Race) put together by local businesses
in support of a charity.

Process: I used Microsoft Word to create this


event advertisement. In addition I also used
Photoshop to fix the size (pixels) of the image
after scanning the image from a magazine. In
designing it I kept in mind the size of the title,
the size of the picture, and the placement of
the information. Within Word I cropped out
the background of the image and filled in a tan
background behind the trees to spread across
the entire page.

Flier
Description: This is a black and white flier promoting and advertising the Graduate Leadership
Conference.

Date: 10/4/15
Course/Instructor: COMM 130. Brother Pingel.
Program(s): InDesign.
Objectives: To promote and bring attention to a
conference for graduates interested in leadership
skills and more.

Process: I first drew various sketches then chose


one out of those to expand on. I created this flier with the program InDesign. I faded the image
to direct the darker value to the center of the flier and bring more attention to the title that lays
across the bottom Repetition also was used in the
v to reiterate the logo. The image, logo, and text
were provided for me.
