Brochure
Description:

Brochure made a Ice Hotel resort designed to show off

the beauty and majesty of the resort

Date:

12/05/15

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 04
Ben Pingel

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe In Design
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

With this being one of the last projects my objective was

to make something that could show my comprehensive
skills and have something worth showing as a result.

Process:

I made multiple drafts, and all of those drafts seemed to

change dramatically each time. However, I really enjoyed
seeing it get better each time. Once I went to see Bro.
Pingel I noticed there were things I could fix very easily,
but did not notice on my own. It was a great advantage to
be able to visit with Bro. Pingel and see it change. Using
all of the skills I have learned and compiling this brochure
I felt confident that I had created something worth while
from coming from a background with no Adobe or design
experience.

Letterhead
Description:

Letterhead designed to be used alongside the business

card design.

Date:

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 04
Ben Pingel

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe InDesign

Objectives:

The main objective of this design was to create

something that was both professional and enjoyable to
look at.

Process:

I started with a new logo with a much more focused

theme and layout. Using my own passion for the
company helped to layout the logo a lot. The next step
with forming the curves and color scheme to help it all
blend together. After doing this I just had to touch up
some corners and I was good to go.

Business Card
Description:

Business Card design to match the Letterhead

Date:

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 04
Ben Pingel

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:

I wanted to specifically highlight the logo, whilst also

focusing on the contact info.

Process:

I wanted to follow the theme I had created with the

letterhead, so I used the same color scheme and then
added similar curves for effect. All together I liked the
way it came out, although I would change some of the
spacing and alignment.

Montage
Description:

Using my skills with Photoshop I was to create a

montage of a spiritual passion of mine.

Date:

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 04
Ben Pingel

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

Learn to use Photoshop effects and use the blending

methods to create a montage.

Process:

My original montage was very similar, but I had changed

some of the side pictures and how they blended with
the picutre. After adding different pictures and help to
create a more serene and spiritual feel I was able to feel
confient in it. Overall I think the use of blending is what
helped to create the great feel for it.

Logos

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 04
Ben Pingel

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:

Create different logos to influence the viewer in the best

way.

Process:

I started with basic text and I chose to find a symbol that

could convey the feel of the company whilst also showing
the company name. Overall I felt like the use of the black
lines to spell the initials helped to add class to the Logo.

Program(s)/Tools:

Objectives:

Learn the basic skills of Photoshop like brightness,

contrast, vibrance, saturation, etc. This was also a great
opportunity to be able to learn some basic photography
skills.

Process:

I took the picture with a Canon Camera and there

proceeded to edit the image and help create a better feel
with the colors. I then used the colors in the image and
matched it with a color scheme to create the design and
help establish a better theme.

Program(s)/Tools:
TextWrangler
Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

Learn basics of HTML5 and CSS, whilst also seeing to

how use design principles in a web format.

Process:

This really came down to knowing the code, and as I was

able to utilize my HTML and CSS knowledge I was able
to create the web page. However, there was also the
aspect of finding colors that would work together well and
present the image. Luckily, for the knowledge I have it
came out fairly decent.

Event Ad
Description:

Program(s)/Tools:

Microsoft Word
Epson Scanner
PDF2JPG.net (PDF converter)

Objectives:

Learn how to use Microsoft to design, whilst also finding

and using a digital image that could scan.

Process:

I had to find an image that would be able to had vivid

enough quality and colors to help display the correct
message, and transfer over through scanning. That was
probably the most difficult part, but once that was done I
was able to use the colors that already existed to create
the design.

Program(s)/Tools:

Objectives:

Get a basic run down of design principles, whilst also

beginning to use Adobe InDesign.

Process:

I started with sketches of the layout, multiple even. This

helped me to paint a stronger picture of what I wanted it
