HOW TO CURE DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY

The topics how to cure depression or how to cure


anxiety asks so many questions and receives so little
vague and confusing answers from contemporary science.
This word was the reason I started to ask myself
questions, and actually find their answers outside from
traditional scientific circles. Moreover, I dont want to
sound like a discovererthese answers were there for
millennia, but human mind likes to dogmatize certain
beliefs, denouncing everything else.
I was depressed for many years without even realizing it. I
realized it with the onset of panic attacks, when I was
twenty nine years old. I had them for years, and my senses
were so askew that I was convinced that the world was a
dark place, where man fought for survival. In a period of
several years I lived in three countries, and attended
physicians in all of them. Some prescribed potent drugs,
others mild ones, but there was no effect, until one doctor
told me there was no cure, and everything might subside
with time. My analytical mind could not comprehend this.
How come there was no cure? I believed in science, and
thought it had all answers. With the panic attacks I
started having very high blood pressure. Physicians
focused on it, and prescribed me pills, which I had to take
my entire life. This was the latest discovery of scienceif
you have high blood pressure, you have to take pills, until
the end of your life. I told them many times that my blood
pressure was a result of my panic attacks, and if this

condition could be fixed, my blood pressure would have


normalized.
Then I started practicing meditation. Five months later I
had no panic attacks or high blood pressure. I no longer
needed pills, which I had to take until the end of my life.
We are used to taking a pill!... This is part of the madness
of contemporary civilization.
Everything we know, we believe we can, the way we do
things, the whole image we have about ourselves and the
surrounding world is based on information, which we
gathered unconsciously and consciously on different
levels of our subconscious. Where did this information
come from? First our parents, then teacher, religion,
politicians, news, friends. Everybody is trying to capture
our attention, so they can tell us who they are. Man is a
territorial animal, i.e. he defends the feeling of his Self,
and in this feeling falls the information, which he knows
about the world. He subconsciously believes that his truth
is not a viewpoint, but the truth.

Thats why, when he argues, the goal isnt to discover
truth, but to prove the other is wrong, and he is right.
Thats why, in such situations voices are raised, they are
noticeably rougher, the interlocutor is not listened to, and
words are interrupted. Mind becomes territorial, and
causes negative emotions, which actually are danger
signals. These are all territorial, unconscious, behavior
models for identity defense. The information, which is in
my head, is mistaken for who I am, and defending this
information, I actually defend myself. So everyone tries to

capture our attention, to tell us who they are, what their


opinion on everything is, because if I lack an opinion on an
issue, a sense of lessened Self is created, which causes
danger signals in the mind through thoughts and emotions
for territorial danger. After the information had been given
to us, we accepted it, because the above-mentioned are
bigger, more knowledgeable, and higher in the hierarchy in
our mind. All of them gives information, but through their
own territorial Self, describing the world and themselves,
but also pointing out our place in that world, and the
whole value system, which they believe we should adopt.
And we adopt it. When we adopt this information, and we
already had built our own image of the Self and the world,
and our role in the world. We are told, which professions
will make us feel more like ourselves (usually doctors,
bankers, lawyers, etc.), and which are the bottom, when
we should normally marry, how we should live, so we
create a feeling for a greater Self. When we were children,
we wanted to be astronauts, sailors, pilots, and our value
system was free, pure, happy value system of travelers
and dreamers, but after we take all this external
information, we become a part of a world matrixa matrix
of right and wrong, of failure and success, of black and
white. This matrix puts us in a world of constant
competition. Competition with the people around us, with
ourselves, and in a fight with the world around us, which
we see as hostile, because it does not revolve around our
understanding of what things should be, according to our
plan. Every time, when we feel the image of our Self falls
to lower levels in the classification of the world matrix,
our mind signals for danger. The thoughts become deeply
negative and territorial, causing negative emotions. We
feel it as anger, sadness, agitation, and all kinds of

negativity, which cause the rise of adrenalin in the body.


From biological viewpoint the body readies to escape from
danger, or to fight. The feeling of Self is endangered.
Endangered is who we believe we are. If we dont achieve
something according to the world matrix in given time, we
experience the feeling of dangernegativity in the case.
The Self might be hurt from someone, who doubts its
integrity and significance. Maybe now you realize the
illusory character of the whole suffering. There is no real
danger of death. There is a matrix, which someone told
you to follow, and you trust him. And because you dont
live up to it, you suffer. The diagnose, although I am sure
no psychoanalyst would describe it this way, is wrong
information in the head about who I am, and what I have
to do. The recipe is change of this information, and raise
of my consciousness, so I realize that all that causes
suffering is just information.

Make two exercises, which will allow you to learn control


over these processes.
Start taking a walk for twenty minutes a day, intent on
meditating. After the walk take a seat, and write down
your thoughts. The way you express yourself should be
like these are someone elses thoughts, and you monitor
them. Something like: I thought about what he told me,
and the way his words made me feel . It shouldnt be:
How dared he tell me this!
I also give you affirmatives, which you should repeat three
times a day, at least three times each. Sit comfortably,
relax your body, but focus on what you read and repeat.
Speak the words with normal voice, not too loudly or

quietly, and try to feel the words. These affirmatives and


the above exercise will raise the level of your
consciousness, and will create a habit to monitor yourself,
interrupting your identification with information.
Affirmatives:
- I am aware that I am thinking .
-I am aware of every thought that I am thinking .
-I learn to divide my mind into two parts -that which is
thinking , and Master Control Awareness of what I am
thinking .
-Through the Master Control Awareness , I censor or
accept every thought .
-The moment I think a negative or destructive thought , I
tell myself "I nullify that thought so that it does not enter
my subjective mind " .
-Every time I find myself thinking a negative or depressing
thought , I will see how fast I can get rid of it through the
above affirmation .
- every time I think an unkind thought toward someone . I
catch myself and say : " Guide me to understand why they
are as they are , and through understanding , I bless them
".
- If I find it difficult to bless someone due to a great deal
of ill feeling , I say the following : " I call upon the
Universal God-Mind within me to forgive the person whom
I , at the moment , do not seem to have the power to
forgive . "
-The is a positive and negative side to every person and
thing . If I start to think about the negative , I catch

myself , and then immediately begin to think about the


positive side .
-I work constantly on trying to shorten the time it takes to
censor or reject a negative thought .
-I am constantly aware of the fact that my every thought
has the psychic power to either clear up your problems ,
or keep them alive and attract even more to me .
