Suite (NAS)/ glass cockpit modification. (Mod 5948) into its fleet.

5. SALIENT FEATURES :
ATR72-212A 600 Version is the appellation to designate the ATR 72-212A
aircraft model having received the New Avionics Suite (NAS), also named as
Glass Cockpit.
These aircraft are formally ATR 72-212A model differing from the other ATR
72-212A due to incorporation of a defined batch of major and minor
modifications for which the major changes are the following :
Major Change 5948 : Glass Cockpit
Major Change 5977 : FCU (Fuel Control Unit) fuel gauging system in
kg.
Major Change 6164 : Enhanced MPC (Multi-Purpose Computer)
Major Change 6298 : Mechanical quadrant for aileron flight surfaces.
Major Change 6368 : Cockpit integrated LED lighting system (CILLS)

04 Oxygen Manual Release tool (OMR) available, 02 each located at the fwd
cabin attendant underseat stowage and the aft cabin attendant seat.
ATA 22 :
Change from Honeywell to Thales. Architecture of the system remains
identical except :
There is no AFCS (Automatic Flight Control System) computer. It is
integrated into CACs (Core Avionics Cabinet).
All 3 Autopilot Actuators changed
ADU removed and indication are given on PFD (Primary flight Display),
AFCS control panel modified.
FD (Flight Director) bar switches replaced by two p/b on AFCS panel.
Display information on PFD and MFD (Multi Function Display).
ATA 23 :
Change from Honeywell to Thales systems;
Radio Tuning Panel replaced by MCP (Multi-function Control Panel) and
MCDU (Multipurpose Control Display Unit)
In degraded condition, i.e. if the two primary tuning means have failed,
a backup tuning through an ARINC 429 bus will still be available for
VHF1 via the IESI. This backup tuning is dedicated to VHF1 and cant
access any other radio.
System displays are on MFD.
ATA 30 :
System identical for any versions except for;
Display information on MFD and PFD
APM (Aircraft performance Monitoring) mass rotary selector removed,
mass selector is selected in MCDU.
APM indications and Ice detection INOP information available on PFD.
Icing system selection information is available on MFD.

ATA 31 :
System identical to any versions except;
Integration of FDAU with MPC (Multi Purpose Computer)
Display information on EWD, display Engine parameters, Flight control
position, alarms with associated procedure.
MFD display ND (Navigation Display) or SD (System Display) page
VCP (Virtual Control Panel) is a part of MFD and it can display ND or SD.
PFD displays ADI, HSI, IAS, ALT and VS.

ATA 33 :
System identical for any versions except:
Cockpit light by LED instead of bulb
A new Lightning Management unit (LMU) controls all display lightings.
New Red anti-collision lights (refer attached pic)

ATA 34 :
System identical on any versions except for;
Display information on PFD and MFD
GNSS removed and its functions carried out by GPS in coordination with
FMS.
IESI (Integral Electronic Stand-by System) replaced Standby instruments,
Altimeters and IAS indicators
Radio navigation and surveillance control unit are replaced by MCP or
MCDU and display on MFD/PFD.
New NAV receiver units perform the functions for ADF, VOR, ILS and
Marker.
ADF receiver has been removed and its functions have been
amalgamated with VOR /ILS / MARKER receiver.
There is no FMC. FMS1&2 embedded in DU2 and DU4.
ATA 35 :
INDIVIDUAL OXYGEN SYSTEM FOR 100% OF THE PASSENGERS
This option consists in installing an individual oxygen system for 100% of the
passengers including oxygen modules at lavatory & cabin crew locations. This
is obtained by installing above each passenger double seat one box
containing two oxygen masks. (Refer attached pic on lavatory oxygen
module)
The box opening is automatic (and manual in case of need).
The oxygen supply is ensured through one oxygen cylinder installed in the
cockpit. Its capacity at NTPD is increased from the standard 2180 litres (77
ft3) to 3256 litres (115 ft3).
Supplementary oxygen mask boxes, are also installed in the proximity of the
front and rear attendant seat and in the lavatory.
The control of the system is performed by a three position switch Off-AutoOn installed on the oxygen panel on the flight deck overhead instrument
panel.
Rest of the systems identical for any version except display on MFD/SD pages.
