Dig Deep

Reese and Carson Rorvik from Nashua, who are

staying with grandparents Deb & Butch Heitman, got
up Thursday morning looking for the grass we used

to have. Their parents are down south on a cruise.

With all that snow yesterday and last night, Reese and
Carson are going to have to dig even deeper now!

MLEA Graduates 53 New Officers

At a ceremony on Friday,
the Montana Law Enforcement
Academy (MLEA) graduated 53
new officers who will serve 30
different agencies across the state
including Joseph Tihlarik of the
Valley County Sheriff s Office.
The Montana Law Enforcement
Academy is operated by the Montana
Department of Justice, providing

basic and advanced training for state,

county, city and tribal law enforcement
officers throughout the state.
Graduate Corey Sample of the
Richland County Sheriff s Office
was elected by the class to speak
on its behalf during the ceremony.
Deputy Sample said, We have entire
careers ahead of us. I would like to
encourage each one of you to find a

niche that you can fill, a particular

avenue of law enforcement that you
get excited about and become the
expert in. I would encourage you
to find a mentor that shares your
passion for that area. Find someone
who you can learn from, is willing
to teach you, and that will help you
gain the skills and insight you need
to excel.

Whats new at the MVD?

The Montana Department of Justice Motor Vehicle
Division will be implementing appointment scheduling at
all driver license offices by the end of the 2015.

The new scheduling system will permit customers to
better plan their day, as well as enables staff to assist customers
more efficiently and in a more relaxed environment. To best
manage this process, appointments will be required for all
services except driver license renewals and driver license
replacements; appointments are optional for these two
services, but are highly recommended.

There will be two options available for scheduling an
appointment: Online at doj.mt.gov/driving. The site lists
the required documentation for each appointment type,
fees and other useful information. The service is fast, easy
to use, and mobile friendly, available 24 hours a day, seven
days a week; or by calling toll free at 1-866-450-8034 to
schedule an appointment, available 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Monday through Friday.

When customers make an online appointment they
can choose to receive either a text or email confirmation,
and they will also receive reminder notifications by the
same method for their appointment. The confirmation
also provides links to the MVD website so they can review
what type of documents are required for their appointment
to ensure customers are aware and understand what
information they need to bring so service can be completed
as timely as possible.

If you have any questions, please contact the Motor
Vehicle Customer Care Center at (866) 450-8034.

Mahatma Gandhi, as you

know, walked barefoot most
of the time, which produced
an impressive set of calluses
on his feet. He also ate very
little, which made him rather
frail and with his odd diet, he
suffered from bad breath.
This made him (oh, man,
this is so bad, its good. . .)
a super calloused fragile
mystic hexed by halitosis.
Snow removal around Glasgow was pretty much an all-nighter. This was the scene shortly
before 7:00 this morning up by the high school as 5.1 Inches of snow fell here on Monday,
setting a new daily record for that date. The old record was 2.6 inches set in 1946. 0.28 inch
of moisture was measured out of the snowfall which also established a new record for that
date. The old record was 0.25 inch set in 1917. Another half inch of snow was added after
midnight. Snowfall for the month is 8.2 inches; seasonal total is 9.5 inches, which is just a
whisker below normal. Total precipitation for 2015 is 12.80 inches, nearly an inch and a half
above the normal of 11.42 inches. Last year was also above normal with 14.92 inches.
