After reviewing the qualifications and requirements for the position being offered, I
feel I would be an ideal candidate because of my relevant experience in educating
students, client support, assessing the needs of youth and families, and working
directly with diverse populations.
While possessing a basic knowledge of these business functions and responsibilities, I
feel that a career with Childrens Home + Aid will further my training and passion for
working directly with students. Into the position, I will be bringing a creative and
independent working style that I acquired from past entrepreneurial experience and
employment. As a middle school Science teacher, under Teach For America, I learned
strategies to best implement information to a wide group of students and interacted
with at-risk youth on a daily basis.
In early 2011, I founded, coordinated, and managed a local benefit concert with the
goal to raise funds for a local impoverished youth suffering from a rare lung disease.
From this event, I gained experience in preparing and organizing a city wide concert
that reached local communities within Austin through advertising, marketing, PR, and
social media strategies. Recently, I have also led and organized various homeless
outreach initiatives that not only supply basic necessities such as food and water, but
also emotional/social comfort through counseling and empathy. Overall, my
experience has allowed me to deal with very diverse populations and has increased
my interpersonal skills through the provision of aid to the impoverished, as well as
establishing teams and acquiring members to coordinate a goal or event.
With the position offered by Childrens Home + Aid, I will be bringing in a thorough
knowledge of community engagement, preparing and presenting material to a large
number of students, and other unique skillsets learned through my experience with
businesses, organizations, and leadership. I believe that with my past work history
and development, I will be able to effectively provide world-class services to
prospective students in a passionate and empathetic manner.
I thank you for the opportunity to work for Childrens Home + Aid, as I continue to
believe in your organizations vision, status, and success. I feel the opportunity would
be a perfect fit for me, allowing me the chance to further my career within your
reputable organization. Thank you again for your time, and I hope to hear back from
you soon to discuss more about the previous listed on my resume, as well as that
which is not listed.
