HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH BATTLE PLAN FOR THE WEEK SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 &

; 11:00A.M.
MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Nahum; Revelation 13
Monday, December 21

Psa. 66:2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
Blessed God:
It is not really left to my option or opinion whether I praise you or not.
Praise is your most righteous due, and since every Christian is a recipient of your
grace, I am bound to praise you daily, and not just Christmas Week.
I have no authoritative liturgical ceremony for praise. I have no command
prescribing certain hours, or specific songs of thanksgiving. But the law written
on my heart teaches me how right it is to praise.
The blessing is this: sinners are confronted with the gospel and
converted to God when they see me praise you. Oh, let me witness to
__________ and __________ at this Holiday time with my praise!
This is not just a pleasurable exercise, but an absolute obligation. If I go
around mourning and murmuring, then I am not guiltless. I cannot discharge all
my duty if I do not praise, no matter what the obstacles are this busy week. I am
bound by the bonds of love to bless your name as long as I live.
Heb. 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that
is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Put your praise continually in my mouth, because I am blessed in order to
bless you. Do I need a life purpose verse for the New Year? Let it be:
Isa. 43:21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
If I do not praise you, I am not bringing forth the fruit you have a right to
expect in my life. I must not let my harp hang low on the willows. I will take it
up, arise, and shout your praises! Help me surround my sorrows with an
atmosphere of melody in my heart. God, hearken from heaven, and accept my
music today in Jesus name. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Haggai; Revelation 16
Thursday, December 24

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling
clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

MAN of Sorrows! what a name for the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude, in my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile, and helpless we; spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full atonement! can it be? Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Lifted up was He to die; It is finished! was His cry;
Now in Heavn exalted high. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew His song well sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE

Chronological Bible Reading: Habakkuk; Revelation 14
Tuesday, December 22

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Zephaniah; Revelation 15
Wednesday, December 23

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except
it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and
it shall be done unto you.

Faithful Savior:
HELP ME ABIDE IN YOU AS TO MY FRUITFULNESS. The branch has to bear
fruit, but I cannot produce even one grape on my own. The fruit of my branch
comes through the stem. My work for you has to be your work in me, or else it is
good for nothing. I am wary at this Christmas Season of slick plans, programs
and productions. Help me simply do for you what you bid me to.
HELP ME ABIDE IN YOU AS TO MY LIFE. If I were old as Methuselah, I still
could not do without you, Lord. As a Christian, my very being depends on my
clinging. Even this you must give me, because all comes from you and you
alone. I am still trusting, still desperately dependent, O Lord.
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and
it shall be done unto you.
That is the key qualification. How important is your word! Verse 4: Abide in
me, and I in you. The parallel in verse 7: If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you.
Are you and your words identical? In practical terms, they are indeed!
Some talk so spiritually about Christ being Master, but they do not submit
to biblical authority and a faith-based view of the Bible. If I separate Christ
from the word, I have done something despicable.
You are the word (John 1:1,14)! How dare I call you Master and Lord, and
do not the things you say? Christ, his cross, and his commands are one. Help me,
Holy Spirit to live in communion with Christ through his commands, so I can
powerfully preach the cross, even at Christmas time. Oh, for grace to do more, in
Jesus name. Amen.

Gracious God and Father:

We do not enjoy your gifts of grace all at once. Like a baby growing to an
adult, my ability to apprehend, appropriate and apply increases with my appetite
and experience. I thank you today I am saved by true union with Christ. But it is
only when I abide in that union do I receive the further purity that changes my
personality into Christlikeness, and the adjustments that change my joy into
godliness, and the power that changes my weakness into strength. This is the way
to revival, and the blended-blessedness stored-up in Christ for his people. How
do I know this viewpoint is correct? Because here is what you say!
John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my
word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make
you free.
I do not know all truth at once. Even if I read it, I do not learn it without
abiding in Jesus. I must continue in the word to be abiding. Persevering in
grace is always an educational process! So steadfastness in faith always results
in growth. The emancipating power of truth is a blessing that takes daily abiding,
because it is gradually received and enjoyed.
You who are beginning in seeking revival take heart! There is something
better for us still. No one has yet received the full reward of their faith, otherwise
the warning of 2 John 8 means nothing.
Help me climb the hill of spiritual experience to end this year. As I abide in
Christ give me firmer confidence, richer joy, greater stability, closer communion,
and greater delight in God. Make me an abider so I can see revival! Amen.

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Zechariah 1-3; Revelation 17
Friday, December 25

SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS

Chronological Bible Reading: Zechariah 4-6; Revelation 18
Saturday, December 26

Eph. 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Psa. 73:15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of
thy children.

Almighty, All-Powerful God:

You do not give like we do. We give a handful of change to the beggar at
the exit ramp. You give wealth by handfuls on purpose. Solomon asked for
wisdom; you gave him wealth and power. This is your divine habit. You redeem
your promises, but though you could pay in silver, you dole them out in gold.
Why should we think you will be stingy with Harvest Baptist Church? We
have a great King, we should ask for great things! We need grace to refresh our
souls. We need floods of revival poured on dry ground.
Hey, Leviathan sinners! Here is an ocean of mercy. Yo, elephantine rebels!
Here is an ark big enough to hold your fat flubber, and float you above the waters
of judgment. You in our congregation! Your sins of pride reach to the clouds of
heaven, and your feet of lust are mired in the muds of hell. Yet this sacred space
is large enough to hide even you. Even you!
The Lord is great in mercy. Who would not ask so generous a God for
forgiveness right now? He does not dim the luster of his grace by finding fault
with the seeking sinner. My soul!
Do not add to all your other sins the thought may have God has lied. Do
not let us distrust the word of the Lord. Lets all come humbly, reverently,
obediently and immediately to the foot of the cross, and the face of the Savior.
View him as lifted on high. He is the atoning sacrifice. Look to his
streaming wounds, from his hands, his head, his side. Behold his brow still
covered with crimson droplets caused from a thorny crown, pressed-down by
men. Look to him and live. Lord, enlarge our vision of your Son Jesus! Amen.

Gracious God:
Did I not learn this year it is not smart to speak all my thoughts? If I keep
them within they only hurt me, but once spoken they often wound others. My
complaint and faultfinding can bring disappointment to the whole family of God.
Lord, I repent! Help me watch out for the consequences of what I say to
others. Hasty, undigested, and inconsiderate comments cause a whole heap of
trouble. Help me bridle my tongue in those cases.
If I am suspicious of being wrong, then help me stay silent. Hasty opinions
of you, especially, are like dangerous campfires among dry stubble. A forest of
people is sure to be affected by talk like that. It will only give them reason for
even greater distrust of your power.
Yet many times my seething inner thoughts cause me agony and bring me
into bitterness. Help my heart find eternity where you dwell! Enable me to peer
within the veil, and stand before your throne, and get a divine perspective on my
problems. For I know, a wider outlook will change my point of view and
bring peace.
Psa. 73:24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
False philosophy tortures the mind. Give me true faith. Even wise men and
women ruin themselves unless your grace prevents it. So I ask to be led and agree
to follow you. All my former mistakes are a blessing if they will just drive me to
you. When I come to the end of my wits, that is the beginning of being wise.
Afterward! I can put up with the present problem when I foresee the future
reception in glory. Give me such vision today for Jesus sake I ask. Amen.

PRAYER DIARY DAILY ORDERS

TIMEWORSHIP

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use prepared prayers because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of requests you might
not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We
have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the
Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
