How to Raise a Puppy

Have you thought of adding a plus one to your family and to your life? Are
you thinking of possibly bringing some energy in your life? What about
thinking about getting a puppy? Well if you have, you have come to the right
place! Puppies require training and correction from their owners to make
them good canine citizens in a human world. To Raise a balanced dog, you
need to teach it that you love it but you are also in charge of it. This will
require work on the puppys part but it will also require you to understand
your dog and to institute a balanced training program. Balanced training
includes using positive reinforcement to promote a desired behavior, giving
your dog love and affection, and using some correction when needed.
Steps
1. Decide whether you have time to raise a puppy. If you plan to get a
puppy, ask yourself and your family some questions. Are you all ready
to make a commitment? Puppies are a lot of work to train properly.
There is housetraining, giving them exercise, teaching them manners,
and how to get along with other animals and humans.

2. Exercise is necessary. A new environment and family can be stressful

on a puppy and may unleash its energy through ruining furniture. Dogs
could either become aggressive in later years or become destructive.
You wouldnt want that. Daily exercise is important for your puppy
because not only will it keep your puppy calm, but it also allows you to

bond with your puppy. Depending on your puppys size and age, the
exercise needed vary.

3. Developing a bond with your puppy is what you should strive for. A
bond built on love and affection between you and your dog will be one
that will never be broken. Your relationship with your dog will make it
happier and balanced.

4. Having fun with your puppy is important. Dogs are social animals and
they deserve an owner who will play with them and be assertive with
them. Make memories with your puppy because they wont stay so
small for too long!

How-to Article
With the internet, it has helped many of its users connect with people
around the world. We learn about different cultures, help with our homework,
and be able to access anyone through a keyboard and a screen. Along with
all of that, the development of Do It Yourself (DIYs) and tutorials have also
helped everyone from learning something advance like how to build a
computer from scratch to something as simple as how to tie a tie. And
articles like eHow and Wiki-How has helped many through the process of
learning and has become popular sources of self-teaching.
Courtney Rosen and Kristen Sager, two students who met in an
entrepreneurial class at UCLAs Anderson School of Management, founded
eHow in 1999. It was run by professional writers and editors in the creation
of eHow, explaining and sharing topics that apply to the daily life of an
American. In 2005, Jack Herrick founded a popular how-to site known today
as wikiHow. With the help of Josh Hannah and Travis Derouin, the site focused
more on the collaborative work from users to create a tutorial for more users
to see and drew attention from Wikipedia itself. When eHow went bankrupt in

2006, Herrick and Hannah bought the website, but was disheartened by the
model eHow was going with. EHow would hire professional writers and
editors to create topics such as How to Get a Mortgage Online, but failed to
make topics that would pique the interests of people worldwide such as How
to Make a Goldfish Live For Decades and How to Find True North Without a
Compass. (Herrick, wikiHow). Plus, advertisers of the website would not
support the translation of how-to content into other languages. In those
areas, thats how eHow failed where wikiHow grew. Once wikiHow grew
momentum, Herrick sold eHow to Demand Media in May of 2006.
The need for how-to articles have become extremely important in our
society now because not only are you creating an article that will help
people, but you are contributing with a network of people on a global scale.
You teach something, someone edits it to make it work, and the audience
gets to learn how to do something. There is over thousands of volunteer
editors improving how-to content for the audience and is not limited to the
amount of categories and topics wikiHow can make.
It Is absolutely important to especially be able to grab your readers
attention in order for your article to be read. A case study from the textbook
weve been using during the course of the semester discusses the
importance of titles to grab a readers attention in order to read your article.
People who write an article to be published on a website, including how-to
authors, must pay attention to the power of title writing. (Barker, p. 127).

The case study proves you need a title to grab the attention of your audience
in order for them to click on your article. To be an author of a how-to article,
you have to ask questions like What titles grab your attention and make
you want to read the article. (Barker, p. 127). There is a user-friendly
Google Chrome web app by wikiHow call wikiHow Survival Kit, which helps its
user by guiding them through sticky situations. It has guides on surviving
bear attacks, kidnappings, imprisonment and other rare but dangerous
situations. It features everything from first aid to self-defense and CPR. (Kale,
Tricks Window).
The reasons of why how-to articles are important sources can all be
summarized. Contribution towards something greater than yourself is
something that all these volunteer authors and editors are doing when they
are doing a how-to article. With as many as 200,00 articles written on
wikiHow, it just shows how connected we all are to each other. We offer these
how-to articles to make a positive impact on someone and make their lives
more beneficial.
