Question
How can I get a firmware upgrade for the SLC 5/05?
Where can I find the firmware kit to flash a SLC 5/05?
Can I download the SLC 5/05 firmware files from the internet?

Answer
In order to obtain firmware upgrades for the SLC 5/05, customers needs to purchase a firmware upgrade kit 1747-DU501 from their local Distributor. Even though the firmware
upgrade is done via software through ControlFlash, it is not available for download.

The firmware is available for Distributors to download via the Distributor Extranet.
Steps to download:
1. Go to Hot Topics > Products > Complete Information
2. Select Programmable Controllers > Programmable Logix Controllers > SLC 500 System > Downloads > SLC 500 Firmware Downloads
UPDATE: 07OCT2011 -- Tech Support was advised that the SLC 5/05 flash update was pulled from the Distributor Extranet website. No additional details provided.
The Distributor must now order the update on SAP.
