NOTIFICATION
Sub: Exercising of various options after selecting an MBBS / BDS seat
during the First Round of COMEDK UGET-2014 Counseling.
COMEDK seat selection process envisages selection of seats and colleges by the
candidates who are participating in the proces. Exercising the option by the registered
candidates leads to selection of a seat in accordance with the order of merit. Also a
candidate opting for a seat in Member Institution drops the seat either before joining
the college or after joining the college will not only loose the tuition fee deposited but
may also attract criminal prosecution. Besides, the number of seats in medical and
dental courses being few and the aspirants are more leading to keen competition, it is
felt necessary that COMEDK monitors the reporting or otherwise of a candidate to
his/her selected college; this will not only strengthen its database for future entrance
tests but also helps effectively and accurately up-date available vacancy position/seats
for being offered in the subsequent rounds of counseling.
In the circumstances, the candidates selecting a medical/dental seat shall choose any
one of the three options which are explained below.

OPTION-ONE (Option entry to open from 03/07/2014 upto 12/07/2014):

Speaks of the selection of an MBBS/BDS seat by a candidate. If he/she is satisfied
with a seat and the college selected, the candidate has to login in their respective
Applicant Login and choose OPTION ONE.
The implication of this option is that the candidate has reported to the concerned
college and desires to pursue his /her education there and that he / she will not
participate in any further rounds of COMEDK counseling and he /she does not wish
to surrender the said seat under any circumstance.

OPTION-TWO (Option entry to open from 03/07/2014 upto 16/07/2014):

If the candidate having selected seat and a college and further wishes to participate in
the subsequent rounds of COMEDK counseling, possibly in search of a better option
he/she may do so by choosing OPTION TWO. This option may be exercised whether
the candidate has reported to the college concerned or not.
The implication of exercising this option is, while holding on to the seat selected
during the first round, the candidate may participate in the subsequent round of
counseling. However if he/she selects a seat other than what has been selected
earlier, the seat selected earlier (first round) gets cancelled automatically. At the same
time if he/she does not select another seat, the earlier selected seat shall continue to
remain in his/her favour.

OPTION-THREE (Option entry to open from 03/07/2014 upto 15/07/2014):

Finally having an MBBS/BDS seat, whether reported /not to the college concerned, the
candidate has an opportunity to surrender the said seat and request for the return of
the original documents which may facilitate him/her to attend some other counseling.
However if the candidate wishes to participate in the next round of COMEDK counseling
after so surrendering the seat he/she shall have to produce all the requisite original
documents.

Please note that no candidate can exercise multiple options and only ONE of the
THREE available options can be exercised. For e.g. any candidate choosing OPTION
ONE shall not have an opportunity to choose either OPTION TWO or OPTION THREE.
In other words, any option once exercised cannot be changed subsequently and hence
the candidates / parents or guardian are advised to be extremely careful in
exercising the option.

2) Exercising of any of the options is compulsory and failure to do so will result

in disqualification from attending further counseling and the seat selected would
be forfeited and added to the next round of counseling.
