Have you guys ever heard of a Chinese Child-ghost wedding? According to long time
straits time news reporter Sit yin Fong's Tales of Chinatown of the Malayan
Federation of the 1950's, this phenomena occurred when some family members in
Singapore and Malaysia received a dream visitation from the nether world that their
deceased child had found their spouse with the deceased child from another family
in the yin world and sought their earthly parental consent to be wedded. So the
prospective families would seek out a shi kong or a local Daoist priest to perform
the appropriate rituals at the cemetery of the deceased in Toa Payoh's Whitely road
cemetery to marry the deceased children. It then followed by the usual Chinese
wedding ceremony and exchange of gifts to accept each other as relatives due their
connection the newlyweds in the nether world.

Such an incident happened during the second post world wars. Grandma Wong who
was a member of the world of the Red switiska society in Singapore's Keng Lee road
had a dream that her deceased daughter visited her in a dream informing her
mother in torrential tears aloud she desired to marry a boy whom she found in the
nether world. GrandmsaWong then enquired as to which fellow member of the
society had a boy who recently demised. She located Grandma Choong and they
arranged the nether nuptial. The entire ghost wedding as mentioned was
performed.

As both families had become related, Grandma Wong further made grandma
Choong promise her that since their Children had become parents, her first born
grandson was then to be adopted in her family as her god-grandson in full
acknowledgement of their wedded children in the nether regions as his real spiritual
parents. So when grandma Choong's first and sole grandson born, the babe was
dedicated to their married children-parent in the nether regions following the
appropriate ancestral worship rites and I was that babe!

You sure it's not Taoist instead of Daoist. Because there is a difference between the
2.

Girlie and Jjf
I answer your question by stating that due to my supposing connection with my
ghost parents in the nether regions, Iam therefore not a normal human being like
everyone else and always felt there was always something very unusual about
myself.
I categroy belong to a community known as other-kin which consist of people who
do not believe themselves to be normal human-beings like everyone else due to
some strange and unsual spirtual connections they have. This makes me feel like
Iam some kind of alien from outer space that you see in the X-files films. I am
perpetuall being misudertood by people all the time due to my hyper senstiveity
physique being naturally tune to spiritual, metaphysical, strange and mysteries
things. My real and very personal metaphysical life transforming experices are so
radical and my personal strange amd mysteries encounters occruing so
inexhautively that I canwrite a book entirely about them them and it has taken me
13 years of spiritual soul search to be where I am now at with the sorts of church
groups and assocaites that I feel really comfortable with ranging from charasmatic
excorcism, theosophy and all sorts of Asain religious metaphysical philsophies

grandy, i'm sorry but I still didn't understand it even reading your link. I just don't
think this an actual ghost experenice. It's a cool short story, but not really a ghost
story.

Hey y'all, I provided a link down there... It should clear up any confusion Smile

If I understand this correctly...

Grandma Choong had more than one Son (or maybe she had a Daughter) and when
the still living Son (or Daughter) had a child (a son) Grandma Wong became that
child's god-parent. This was done to honor the 'Spiritual Marriage' that had united
the two Families...

I'm not sure about this one, needs more research into Chinese Customs concerning
the Afterlife.

Respectfully,

Rook

I'm confused. You were adopted from whom? Who are your real parents? I am sure
ghosts can't give birth to a human soul. I read your story 5 times but still couldn't
make out.

I KNOW THE USER WON'T ANSWER BUT ANYONE WHO CAN FIGURE OUT PLEASE
MENTION IT Sad

Here's a link that explains this scenario and custom:

Touching as it is, I don't think this is a paranormal encounter at all... Except maybe
for your grandmother...

Could not understand that story. I understand that you are the child of two ghosts
married in the nether world?
girlie (14 stories) (426 posts) 3 years ago (2012-04-25)
okay, never heard of it. I think it's sweet as it is werid. The only question I have is: is
there something that has happened to you as a result of this? Like seeing the
children/parent ghosts? If there is do tell.
