Theapparatuswasconfinedinsideametallicbox,andIwasallowedtoinspecteverythingoutsidethisbox.However,inordertoprotectthecoreideas
oftheinvention,Iwasnotsupposedtocheckallthedetailsoftheinternalparts.Accordingtotheinventortheapparatusispredominantlyamechanical

Ibelievetheintentionsoftheinventorwereingoodfaith.
Theexperimentalsetupwasquitesimple,asshownschematicallyinFigure1.Itconsistedofplacingtheboxwithunknowncontents,fromwhichDC

Ihadpreparedthepowermeasurementswithcare,byusingreliableinstrumentsIpersonallybroughtwithmefrommyownuniversitylaboratory.In
ordertomeasuretheDCvoltagedirectlyoutofthepositiveandthenegativeelectricalterminalsIusedtwodifferentvoltmetersinparallel,oneanalog
(constructedwithpermanentmagnetsandwires)andanotherdigital(thatemployselectroniccircuitstoacquireandtodisplaythemeasuredvalues).
Theseinstrumentsarebasedoncompletelydifferentworkingprinciples.AlsoformeasuringtheDCcurrentcomingoutthepositiveterminaland

Beforestartingtheexperiment,nokindofaudiblenoisewasbeingproducedbytheapparatus.Also,Imeasuredthevoltagedifferencesbetweenthe

SofarasIcouldobserve,theapparatuswascompletelyatrest.
Thestartprocedureconsistedofconnectingasmall12VDCleadacidaccumulatortotwocontactpointsinsidethebox,duringashorttimeinterval(see

PowercalculationsbasedontheregisteredvaluesofvoltagesandcurrentsinTable1leadtotheconclusionthatmuchmoreenergyisdeliveredbythe

whichisphysicallynotpossibletorealizeconsideringthevolumeoftheaccumulatorandthesimpleconnectorcontactsshowninAppendixB!
Consideringtheinventorsassurancethattheapparatusismainlyamechanicaldevice,andthatnokindofenergystoragewasimplementedinsidethe
box,itisntclearwherethemeasuredexcessofenergyoutoftheboxiscomingfromwhetheroutofelectromagneticfieldsorastheresultofsome

Afteranalyzingtheresultsindetail,togetherwiththedrawingandexplanationsprovidedbytheinventor(seeAppendixC),itwaspossibletorecognize

Thisisareallyexcitingideabecausealinkcouldbeestablishedbetweentheapparatusunderobservationandafamousexperimentperformedin1831
byMichaelFaraday,theinventoroftheelectricalmachines.IntheacademicliteraturethisoldexperimentisknownastheParadoxofFaradaysDisk.
Indeed,manyotherscientistshypothesizeaboutthepossibilityofconstructinghomopolarmachineswithefficiencyabove100%(see,forinstance,the

So,thenextstepwouldbetoexcludethepossibilityofsomekindofconventionalelectrochemicalenergyprocessinginsidetheapparatus.Forthis
