Becoming Active Learner


1. Know your purpose and responsibility

Purpose : the reason why you are doing


it / a reason to begin

Responsibility : how you are accountable


for it / a point at which you are finished

Example :
your instructor assign 15 pages of
chapter to read and 10 questions to
answer.

2. Work in a conducive environment


Start thinking about how you set up you
own learning environment
A place ? Noise/ quiet/ free place
A chair? Uncomfortable/ comfortable
A room? Too hot / too cold

A lighting? To bright / too dim


Learning tools? Pens, note paper, readin material

3. Develop a positive belief in yourself


A positive attitude encourages you to
persist
A negative attitude encourages you to
give up

To engage means to get either
mentally or physically involved and
to participate actively

Definition of concentration : is the art


of being focused and the ability to
pay attention
Good concentration is a result of
being active, mindful, and conscious

1. Choose your workspace wisely
a bed = sleep
a desk = work
so a bed work
thats why schools and libraries are
filled with tables and desk , not beds !!
2. Manage your clutter
You should have enough room for your
elbows, reading material, a notebook
and any others necessary items

3. Ensure good lighting


its easier to learn when the lighting is
just right for your eyes
4. Feed your body right
Protein food (such as cheese, meat,
fish) and vegetables keep the mind
alert
carbohydrates ( such as pasta, bread,
sugars), make you sleepy
cafeein ( coffe, chocolate, tea, soft
drink) acts as stimulant in low doses

5. Avoid food
When you try to eat and study at the
same time, which gets more of your
attention ????????
