Vizhune and Conneaut.
Koana Islands was historically always independent from the rest of the world. With
many explorers, such as a James Cook (who discovered Australia) passing on claiming

Islands opened their doors to many Finnish, Polish and even German refugees.
Approximately 75% of the Islands' population are now descended from the refugees.
The Koana Islands joined the United Nations in 1955, and has been ranked the most
stable country in the world, in a survey based on social, economic, political and military
indicators.
Koana Islands was a relative latecomer to industrialization, remaining a largely agrarian
country until the 1950s. Thereafter, economic development was rapid, and the country
reached the world's top income levels in the 1970s. Between 1970 and 1990, Koana

the big cities without leaving Koana Islands.
Elon

Originating around 1789 as a small trading community near the eponymous
Elon Creek, Elon grew quickly after the opening of the main road, now known
as Highway 73 in 1825, with the city as its western terminus. By 1900, Elon
was the 8th largest city in the country, and went on to become a major railroad
hub, the largest grain-milling center in the country, and the home of the one of
largest steel-making operation in the world. The latter part of the 20th Century
saw a reversal of fortunes: by the year 1990 the city had fallen back below its
1900 population levels. The rerouting of freight trains by the opening of the
Latitude Rail was a factor in the decline of the city. The closing or relocating of
many of the steel mills and other heavy industries in the area also contributed
to the decline. Elon has made efforts to stem the decline, and the city's move
away from heavy industry and toward a service and bioinformatics economy

has brought improved air and water quality, which benefit not only residents
and tourists but the bioregion as a whole.
Elon's Merrill Stadium is situated in the urban residential sprawl nearly 27km
away from the central business district.
Erana Hills
Population: 940,226

western shores of New Paul Island. Grenada is a regional center for trade and
agriculture, and is served by Grenada Regional Airport. With one of the fastest

cultural activities, and also industry. It is consistently ranked one of the most

capital' and it is home to many of the nation's most significant cultural
institutions. Humoor is notable for its mix of Koanian and contemporary
architecture, its extensive parks and gardens, as well as its diverse,
multicultural society. It has long been a running joke amonst the local
population that despite being one of the largest cities in the country, Humoor is
not recognized as a sporting city, despite having one of the most successful
baseball teams in KIBL history.

Independence City
Population: 524,378
The city is abundantly rich in water with over twenty lakes and wetlands, the
Sutherway riverfront, creeks and waterfalls, many connected by parkways in
the Chain of Lakes. Independence City was once the world's flour milling capital

Megopolis, Saffron and Henry and Dophin Islands. Among Koana's most literate
cities, Independence City has cultural organizations that draw creative people
and audiences to the city for theater, visual art, writing, and music. The
community's diverse population has a long tradition of charitable support
through progressive public social programs and through private and corporate
philanthropy.

Fame, expected to be completed in 2009. The already large presence of the
racing technology industry along with the newly built dragstip, which is located
just north of Jaxon City in the residential area, is influencing some of the top
professional drag racers to move their shops from more expensive areas like
Conneaut to the Jaxon City area as well. The center city/uptown area of Jaxon
City has seen remarkable growth over the last decade. Numerous residential
units continue to be built uptown, including over 20 skyscapers either under
construction, recently completed, or in the planning stage. Many new
restaurants, bars and clubs now operate in the Uptown area. Several projects
are transforming the Midtown area.
Jonestown
Population: 481,613

southernmost county in the state of Megopolis. Until 1975, the borough was
officially named the Borough of Jonestown. Jonestown City has been sometimes
called "the forgotten borough" by inhabitants who feel neglected by the city
government. Jonestown is overall the most suburban of the three boroughs of
Megopolis. With its late Gothic church, Jonestown grew last century into a city
of a reasonable size thanks largely to the incorporation of a neighbouring
borough, and has grown extensively over the last three decades. Kacy Park is
situated in the middle of a large Nature reserve, in between two of the bigger
suburbs in the area.

Lexington
Population: 897,689
Lexington's reputation was forged as a powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution,
a fact which led to Lexington being known as "the workshop of the world" or
the "city of a thousand trades". Although Lexington's industrial importance has
declined, it has developed into a national commercial centre, being named as
the best place in the Dolphin Island to locate a business, and the 7th best in
Koana Islands.
A distinctive and spacious city, as well as wide main roads, characterize the
image of this city. Traffic jams on the roads are limited. The tricky lay-out of the
one-way streets will surely confront the tourist time and time again. Goodman

Stadium is located across the river Judgement in the Shopping Mall hub of the
town.

publishers. Megopolis has many famous landmarks, tourist attractions,
museums, and universities. Megopolis has the largest central business district
in the Koana Islands.
Megopolis is a megacity built up around a bay. You won't find a downtown area
here because this city has grown with virtually no planning over the course of
time. As a result, Gothica Stadium is located very close to a Soccer Stadium by
the exact same name.
Myrtle Beach
Population: 193,854
Myrtle Beach is noted for its magnificent views of the ocean, its usually warm
and cloud-free climate and its surfbreak. The frequently visited tourist beach, is
actually fairly short, with half of it marked off for surfers. For some distance into
the ocean the water is quite shallow, although there are numerous rocks on the
bottom, so waders should watch where they put their feet. As with most ocean
beaches the waves can have some force, particularly on windy days. The surf
at Myrtle Beach is known to its long rolling break, making it ideal for long
boarding, tandem surfing and beginners. The beach hosts many events a year,
including surf competitions, outdoor performances, and outrigger canoe races.
Myrtle Beach is the world famous tourist district of Koana Islands, located just
north of the Gold Coast. Numerous hotels, shops, and nightlife opportunities
are located along the strip, including an amusement park and the GHT Arena.

New Auckland
Population: 4,564,345
New Auckland, situated in the Wilkes Mountains, is the capital of the Wilkes
State.
In the course of many years a large city developed from a small settlement
around a fish pond. Apart from a small central lake, New Auckland has no real

city centre. Nearly the whole city is a mixture of apparently haphazardly built
office-buildings, shopping centres and residential buildings. Because of this the
traffic situation is very poor. Sadaki Stadium is situated to the north of the city.
Ocean Point
Population: 768,548
A significant naval port for centuries, Ocean Point is home to the world's oldest
dry dock still in use and home to many famous ships. Ocean Point has declined
as a naval base in recent years but remains a major dockyard and base for the
Royal Navy and Royal Marine Commandos whose Headquarters resides there.
There is also a commercial port serving destinations on the continent for freight
and passenger traffic. Most of Ocean Point's tourist attractions are related to its
naval history. In the last decade Ocean Point's Historic Dockyard has been
given a much needed face-lift much like Villanova Park which has recently
undergone intensive renovations.
Paradise Lake
Population: 472,743
Paradise Lake is a city on Henry Island built up around the River in which it
bears its name. Nearby cities are Caron, Ulster, Mount Nelsondale and
Pinebrook. Paradise Lake was originally a trading hub on Henry Island, with

tower blocks situated around the river with nearby Apartment blocks and The
Arena.
Peanut Valley
Population: 395,795
Peanut Valley gets its name from the Valley in which the city was built, which
from a top down view looks very similar to a Peanut. Once considered part of a
Desert, it is now a leading farming and ranching state. The city's history has
included a variety of crime such as illicit gambling, riots, lynchings, and
recently, gang violence. Today, the diverse culture of Peanut Valley includes a
variety of performance venues, museums, and musical heritage, including the
historically-significant jazz scene in North Valley and the modern and influential
"Valley Sound." Sports have been important in Peanut Valley for more than a
century, and the city currently hosts three professional sports teams. Peanut

environmental services, congress and convention venues. The city serves as a
continental hub for air and rail transport, and is one of the most visited tourist
destinations in the Koana Islands. Other industries include traffic engineering,
optoelectronics, information technology, vehicle manufacturing, biomedical
engineering, and biotechnology. The metropolis is home to world-renowned
universities, research institutes, sporting events, orchestras, museums and
personalities. Rothes' urban landscape and historical legacy (which has many
Scottish ties) has made it a popular setting for international film productions.
The city is recognized for its festivals (in particular Scotoberfest), diverse
architecture, nightlife, contemporary arts and a high quality of living. Rothes
has evolved into a global focal point for young individuals and artists attracted
by a liberal and modern lifestyle.
Ruysdael
Population: 298,723
It was founded in 1796 at the base of the Wilkes Mountains, and became a
manufacturing center owing to its location in the middle of New Paul Island and
railroad lines. With the decline of heavy manufacturing, Ruysdael's businesses
have diversified into the service economy, including the financial services,
insurance, legal, and healthcare sectors, though the city's population has
continued to decline. Ruysdael is also noted for its association with rock music;
the city is home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Ruysdael is also known as the "Green City" due to its many parks and reserves.
The city has a feirce rivallry with Thomasburg, whom many see as the "better"
city of the two. Tomahawk Stadium is located in the southern suburbs of the
inner city.
Saffron
Population: 412,785
During the Industrial Revolution Saffron experienced dramatic economic
expansion and a rapid rise in the population. Although porcelain manufacture
and clock making had been major industries in the town, Saffron has since
become known as a major mill town and coal mining district. The first coal mine
was established at Saffron in 1450 and at its peak there were 1,000 pit shafts
within 5 miles (8 km) of the town centre. Mining was so extensive that one of
its town councillors once remarked that "a coal mine in the backyard was not
uncommon in Saffron". Coal mining ceased during the latter part of the 20th
century.

Around the picturesque city centre is full of hustle and bustle. Its wonderful
renaissance church, built by Reitinger, the master builder of cathedrals in 1761,
which is situated a mere block away from NTL Stadium.
Saphire Coast
Population: 409,719
Saphire Coast is capital of the Western State which includes Jaxon City and
Grenada. The original city was actually built on the sands of the beach along
the coast, but over time, the central business district has moved back inland,
and is now situated either side of an island, surrounded by the Emerald Lake.
Part of the main business district of Saphire Coast is on the narrow island, so
the traffic on the bridges is quite heavy. The Shark Tank was a new multi-million
dollar development located just south of the island, effectively moving the
team from its old stadium a few blocks away. Saphire Coast is known for having
very passionate fans, and many are petitioning a second team in the city.
Snowflake City
Population: 298,875
Snowflake City is the state capital and most populous city of the Koana Island
state of Snowy Island. Founded in 1803 as a penal colony, Snowflake City is
Koana's second oldest capital city after Megopolis. In 2006, the city had a
greater area population of approximately 298,875. The city is the financial and
administrative heart of Snowy Island, and also serves as the home port for the
Island. The city is located in the state's North-east on the estuary of the Roy
River. The skyline is dominated by Mount Plaistow at 1,271 metres high.
This city is not easy to navigate as a tourist because of its not really
distinguishable centre and suburbs which obviously developed without having
been carefully planned, due to a lack of city development concepts.
Riverside Stadium remains the oldest Stadium still in use in the Koana Islands.
Stondon
Population: 543,297
Stondon obtained worldwide recognition during the 19th century for its
production of steel. Many innovations in the industry were developed locally,
including crucible and stainless steel. This fuelled an almost tenfold increase in
the population during the Industrial Revolution. It gained its city charter in 1893
and became officially titled the City of Stondon. International competition
caused a decline in traditional local industries during the 1970s and 1980s, and
at the same time the nearby national coal industry collapsed, affecting
Stondon's population.

A typical small harbor town which is only a part of a large consolidated city.
Everyone heads for the restaurants and cafes along the canal, which is where
you will also find the Casino Stadium.

Tempest Lake
Population: 221,385
Tempest Lake's economy is primarily driven by law, finance, and government
with several notable legal and banking firms, as well as federal, state, and local
governmental agencies, located in the downtown area. Tempest Lake is one of
twelve cities in the Koana Islands to be home to a Federal Reserve Bank. There
are also nine Fortune 500, and thirteen Fortune 1000 companies in the city.
Tourism is also important, as many historic sights are in or nearby the city.
Recently Tempest Lake's team, the "Skyhawks" has been put in jeopardy with
many fans being driven away from the astronomical ticket prices, led by a very
greedy owner. The bigger city of Sandford has also been petitioning for some
time to take the franchise, but keeping the team in Tempest Lake until
Sandford's city stadium can be upgraded.
Thomasburg
Population: 1,439,786
Historically a part of the Wilkes State, Thomasburg grew during the 18th and
19th century as a significant centre for coal mining, and glassmaking. Both
prior and during this time it was also home to a cotton and linen industry
(notably sail making) that did not last through the mid 19th century as well as
salt, lime and alkali pits, copper smelting, and brewing. Today, Thomasburg is
very much a commercial town. The main industries have since left, become
outdated, or have been outsourced leaving the float and patterned rolled glass
producer Donalds, a world leader in their industry, as the town's one remaining
large industrial employer.
Thomasburg has a fierce rivallry with Ruysdael, with many people seeing
Thomasburg as the more picturesque of the two. Thomasburg's stadium "The
Big Top" is the most modern stadium in the Koana Islands.
Ulster
Situated on the north side of Henry Island, the city developed from a small
settlement, though it owes its name to the area in Ireland, from which the first
Mayor of the town was born. The city grew as an important centre for the wool
trade and it later became a major coal mining area. The port developed in the
16th century and, along with the shipyards lower down the river, was amongst

the world's largest shipbuilding and ship-repairing centres. These industries

have since experienced severe decline and closure, and the city today is
largely a business and cultural centre, with a particular reputation for nightlife.
Ulster has a reputation for being a fun-loving city with many bars, restaurants
and nightclubs. More recently, Ulster has become popular as a destination for
Stag and Hen parties. Ulster was in the top ten of the country's top night spots.

Vizhune
Population: 1,894,523
Vizhune is the second largest town in the Northern State. Popularly known as
"the Viz" or simply "Viz", Vizhune is situated in the geographic centre of the
Great Desert. It was the fourth-fastest-growing large city in the nation from
2000-2006. Vizhune's weather is alternately dry or humid depending on
prevailing winds, turning hot in the summer, mild to cool winters subject to
descending northern cold fronts in the winter with cool to cold nights, and
comfortably warm and rainy in the spring and fall. Vizhune receives about a
dozen sub-freezing nights each year, occasionally (about once every couple
winters) seeing some sort of wintry precipitation (i.e. sleet/freezing rain), but
accumulation and snow itself is not very common.
The city's only top-level professional sports team, and consequently the team
most Vizzians follow, is the Vizhune Vipers. The Vipers have been playing in
Vizhune since 1956, and recently signed a deal with the KIBL securing their
future in the city for 50 seasons.

Koana Islands (pronounced Co-ahnah Islands), officially the Democratic Republic of

Koana Islands is an Oceania country situated in the middle of the Indian Ocean. It's closest
neighbours are Australia to the east, Madagascar to the west and India to the North. The
capital city is Megopolis. The Koana Islands is made up of 32 islands, of which 11 are
uninhabited and are national parks. The biggest island, Koana Island has an area of
approximately 574,925 square kilometres and is home to the vast majority of Koanians. All
up, the 32 islands provide an area of 931,223 square kilometres, roughly the size of Spain
and Sweden combined.
Around 93.4 million people reside in Koana Islands, with the majority concentrated in the
central part of the mainland. The native language of most of the population is Koanian,
which is part of the North Germanic language family and is most closely related to Swedish
and English. The second official language of Koana Islands English is the native
language of 5.5% of the population, although most people under the age of about 30 can
speak very good English. Koana Islands is a parliamentary republic with a central
government based in Megopolis and local governments in over 10,000 municipalities. A
total of about five and a half million residents live in the Greater Megopolis area (which
includes Megopolis, Black Island and Jonestown), and a sixth of the country's GDP is
produced there. Other major cities include Bayside, New Auckland, Humoor, Embleton,
Vizhune and Conneaut.
Koana Islands was historically always independent from the rest of the world. With
historical ties to the Vikings and early British explorers, the Koana Islands is a unique
example of two different cultures sharing the land together. As a result, place names and
locations are a mix of both British and Swedish names. During World War Two, in which
the Koana Islands remained neutral, the Islands opened their doors to many Finnish, Polish
and even German refugees. Approximately 4% of the Islands' population are now
descended from the refugees. The Koana Islands joined the United Nations in 1955, and has
been ranked the most stable country in the world, in a survey based on social, economic,
political and military indicators.
Koana Islands was a relative latecomer to industrialisation, remaining a largely agrarian
country until the 1950s. Thereafter, economic development was rapid, and the country
reached the world's top income levels in the 1970s. Between 1970 and 1990, Koana Islands
built an extensive welfare state. In the aftermath of the country's severe depression in the
late 1980s, successive governments have changed the Koanian economic system through
some privatisation, deregulation and tax cuts. Koana Islands is well placed in many
international comparisons of national performance such as the share of high-technology
manufacturing and health care. The country was ranked 4th in the 2005 Legatum Prosperity

Wilkes - Separates the state of Krasigatt from the rest of the Koana Island,
extending from the Inner Sea to the Great Southern Strait.

Many cities and towns in the Koana Islands are of interest to travellers. Following is an
alphabetical selection of ten - others are listed under their specific states:

Bayside - Residents of Bayside are known as "Baysidites" and include a diverse mix
of university professors, students, politicians, musicians, state employees, high-tech

workers, blue-collar workers, and white-collar workers. The main campus of the
Krasigatt University is located in Bayside. The city is home to enough large sites of
major technology corporations to have earned it the nickname "Silicon City."
Bayside's official slogan promotes the city as "The Live Music Capital of the
World," a reference to its status as home to many musicians and music venues. In
recent years, many Baysidites have also adopted the unofficial slogan "Keep
Bayside Weird"; this refers partly to the eclectic and progressive lifestyle of many
Bayside residents but is also the slogan for a campaign to preserve smaller local
businesses and resist excessive commercialisation.

Embleton - With many colleges and universities within the city and surrounding
area, Embleton is a centre of higher education and a centre for medicine. The city's
economy is also based on research, finance, and technology - principally
biotechnology. Embleton ranks first in the country in jobs per square mile ahead of
Megopolis and Humoor. The city has been experiencing gentrification and has one
of the highest costs of living in the Koana Islands, though it remains high on world
livability rankings. Embleton is also one of the birthplaces of the hardcore punk
genre of music. Embleton musicians have contributed greatly to this music scene
over the years. Embleton neighbourhoods were home to some of the leading local
ska and ska punk scenes in the 1990s.

Gold Coast - Gold Coast City is renowned for its sunny subtropical climate, popular
surfing beaches, expansive waterway and canal systems, a skyline dominated by
high-rise apartment buildings, a peaceful rainforest hinterland in the west of the city,
active nightlife and its wide variety of tourist attractions. Tourism is the regions
biggest industry, directly contributing more than $4.4 billion into the city economy
every year and directly accounting for one in four jobs in the city.

Hollydale - Hollydale is believed to be the location of the first permanent settlement

in Hollyoak, which is said to have established around 1630. Until 1800 there was no
urban development in the city location. The city was founded as an official trading
town and grew steadily over the next decades, as it transformed into a regional and
later national centre of commerce, population and governmental activities.
Hollydale is a regular tourist destination for Koanians who want to get away from
the big cities without leaving Koana Islands.

Humoor - Humoor is a major centre of commerce, education, tourism, the arts and
cultural activities, and also industry. It is consistently ranked one of the most
liveable cities in the world. The city is recognised as Koana Islands' 'cultural capital'
and it is home to many of the nation's most significant cultural institutions. Humoor
is notable for its mix of Koanian and contemporary architecture, its extensive parks
and gardens, as well as its diverse, multicultural society. It has long been a running
joke amonst the local population that despite being one of the largest cities in the
country, Humoor is not recognized as a sporting city. The Humoor Hawks,
Humoor's baseball team hasn't won the Super League since 1904.

Megopolis - Megopolis is a major commercial, financial, and cultural center of both

the Koana Islands and the world. Being the Capital of Megopolis State and Koana
Islands most major radio, television, and telecommunications companies are based
here, as well as many news, magazine, book, and other media publishers. Megopolis
has many famous landmarks, tourist attractions, museums, and universities.
Megopolis has the largest central business district in the Koana Islands. Megopolis
is a megacity built up around a bay. You won't find a downtown area here because
this city has grown with virtually no planning over the course of time.

New Auckland - New Auckland, situated in the Wilkes mountains, is the capital of
the Wilkes State. In the course of many years a large city developed from a small
settlement around a fish pond. Apart from a small central lake, New Auckland has
no real city centre. Nearly the whole city is a mixture of apparently haphazardly
built office-buildings, shopping centres and residential buildings. Because of this
the traffic situation is very poor.

Saphire Coast - The original city was actually built on the sands of the beach along
the coast, but over time, the central business district has moved back inland, and is
now situated either side of an island, surrounded by the Emerald Lake. Part of the
main business district of Saphire Coast is on the narrow island, so the traffic on the
bridges is quite heavy.

Vizhune - Vizhune is the largest city in the Northern State. Popularly known as "the
Viz" or simply "Viz", Vizhune is situated in the geographic centre of the Great
Desert. It was the fourth-fastest-growing large city in the nation from 2000-2006.
Vizhune's weather is alternately dry or humid depending on prevailing winds,
turning hot in the summer, mild to cool winters subject to descending northern cold
fronts in the winter with cool to cold nights, and comfortably warm and rainy in the
spring and fall. Vizhune receives about a dozen sub-freezing nights each year,
occasionally (about once every couple winters) seeing some sort of wintry
precipitation (i.e. sleet/freezing rain), but accumulation and snow itself is not very
common.

Xyport - Xyport (formerly Xiport) is the cultural, scientific, economic and

governmental centre of Long Island. Xyport is an important centre of maritime
knowledge in the Koana Islands and is home to approximately 980 companies and
8,500 employees within the maritime sector, among which are some of the world's
largest shipping companies, shipbrokers, and insurance brokers. The metropolitan
area of Xyport has a population of 686,171, and it is the fastest-growing Long
Island city.
