Engineering colleges in Bangalore are known for the best placement records as the city

COMEDK stands for Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka.
This consortium with a view to determine the merit of students in a non-exploitative,
transparent, fair and effective manner, follows UGET as the entrance test for admission to
professional UG courses. When talking about engineering colleges, it is stated that nearly
150 engineering colleges in the entire state are affiliated to the consortium and so they
admit students based on UGET score conducted by this consortium for engineering
aspirants.
Eligibility to apply for COMEDK UGET:

The qualifying examination prescribed for admission the engineering colleges in


Bangalore and any other city in the state is second PUC or 10+2 higher secondary
or equivalent examination

recognized by the state/central

government with

mathematics, chemistry and physics with English as a compulsory paper.

The aggregate marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics with a pass in all
subjects are 45% for general category candidates and 40% for reserved category. As

against chemistry, candidates with electronics or computer science or biology or


biotechnology can also apply.
However, COMEDK UGET is conducted by private engineering colleges in Bangalore
alone. Candidates interested in admission to government engineering colleges will have to
take up KCET or Karnataka Common Entrance Test.
