Each morning as I drive
in to work, I pass Weesies
and read their marquee
sign, which says “We’re
ready for spring. How
about you?”
One day last week I
started thinking about
spring and how Manistee
County prepares for this
wonderful time of year.
So to answer Weesies and
in honor of all those lucky
students who are on spring
break this week, I sent the
Chamber staff on a field
trip, to find as many signs
of spring as they could in a
half hour.
Here’s what they found:

Cyndy Fuller named to Manistee County Community Foundation board

MANISTEE — Manistee
County business and commu-
nity leader Cyndy Fuller has
been unanimously elected to a
three-year term of service on the
Manistee County Community
Foundation’s board of directors.
Fuller currently serves as the
executive director for the Alliance
for Economic Success (AES), an
economic development organiza-
tion serving Manistee County
and the surrounding area. Prior
to accepting her position at AES
Fuller worked for the Harbor
Village at Manistee Beach devel-
opment company from 1992 to
2009, serving as general manager
and vice president during the last
12 years. Fuller served on the
City of Manistee City Council,
representing the City’s 2nd
District from 2005-2009, includ-
ing being elected Mayor during
2006-2009.
Fuller has also served on a
number of Manistee-area com-
mittees and boards, including;
past president of the West Shore
Community College Foundation;
past president of the Manistee
Economic Council and Chamber
Alliance; Board of Directors,
Alternatives for Area Youth; and
coaching girl’s basketball and vol-
leyball at Brethren and Manistee
Middle School.

blend of business acumen and
community stewardship to the
foundation board,” said Beth
McCarthy, board chair. “In addi-
tion to her extensive business
and leadership experiences, she
understands the crucial role that
nonprofits and local units of
government have in achieving

of endowed funds in sustaining
resources and programs that are
vital to the county’s long-term
