Happy New Year!

The Epiphany of the Lord

Feast of the Three Kings

The Feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ is one of the oldest
Christian feasts, though, throughout the centuries, it has celebrated a
variety of things. Epiphany comes from a Greek verb meaning "to
reveal," and all of the various events celebrated by the Feast of the
Epiphany are revelations of Christ to man.
In many parts of Europe, the celebration of Epiphany is at least as
important as the celebration of Christmas. In Italy and other
Mediterranean countries, Christians exchange gifts on Epiphanythe
day on which the Wise Men brought their gifts to the Christ Child
while in Northern Europe, it's not unusual to give gifts on both
Christmas and Epiphany (often with smaller gifts on each of the twelve
days of Christmas in between).

A View from the Shepherd

Happy New Year! I pray that 2016 may be a year of grace and
wonder and blessings for each of you! Perhaps, it will be a Year
that many will draw closer to the Lord through Mercy and Love?
Use todays Feast of the Epiphany as a great example for in the
bringing, sharing and receiving of our gifts to one another our
world will be a better place.
Let us continue this Christmas Season with the joy of that first
Christmas Morning. Its so exciting to be a part of Good Shepherd
ANCC. You can feel and see the all-inclusive and welcoming joy
in everyones eyes, smiles and hearts.
Thanks to everyone for your great generosity to our Parish. The
Christmas Collection was over $2500 and I thank God for your
contributions in these tough times. It is very appreciated with all
the expenses of opening our new church.
Finally, Remember the last line of todays Gospel- They left by
another Way.reflect on your own encountering of Jesus and
know that once you meet Him, you too can walk another way. I
always think its a new and BETTER way!

Live Jesus in Our Hearts, Forever!

Franciscan Moment Love the Sinner more than Me and show them
the way to the Lord; always have mercy on them.
