- multifunctional foot pedal controls the movements of handpieces ,
the positions of dental chair , the cleaning of cuspidor , the lamp light
intensity .
G) Dentist stool

Some dental units have a general switch to control the energy , water and
air . There are not wires on the floor , everything being integrated in unit
bottom.
Compressor
- There are 2 types : with oil and oilless
- the compressors with oil are less used nowadays. The advantage is that
they are quiet . the disadvantage is that oil particles reach in teeth
prepared cavities through the handpieces and prevent a good bonding of
composite materials .
- The oilless compressors are more used . The disadvantage is that they
are very noisy . Ones are completely uncovered and the manufacturer
recommend to be let like that for a good ventilation . Other ones are
designed partially covered or completely covered in a soundproof box.
They are more quiet and more aesthetic .
- The 24 l capacity can activate only one dental unit and also its 2 saliva
ejectors. Some dentists that work hard all day long complain that this
small compressor cant deal with the working of handpieces and saliva
ejectors too. The engine breaks down very fast. They often choose to buy
a suction pump for saliva ejectors.
- The 50 l capacity can activate 2 dental units and even 3 if the suction is
provided by electric pumps . It can be a solution for activating a single
dental unit with its handpieces and saliva ejectors.
