3.1.2 Distribution of loads

The dead loads shall be assumed to act vertically upon tributary areas
projected from a Horizontal plane. Wall directly resting on beam or Girder
shall be distributed as a uniform Load.
3.2 LIVE LOADS (LL)
The following live loads shall be used. If the Equipment has to be
supported
which would
Create a load exceeding those shown below, then the affected areas shall be
designed for the Heavier loads.
3.2.1.1

Live Loads
Roof Live loads
Residential

= 2000 Pa

3.2.2 Distribution of loads

The Live loads shall be assumed to act vertical upon tributary areas projected
from horizontal plane, See attached distribution diagram.
3.3 WIND LOADS ( WL)
Wind load for main structural elements shall be based on National
Structural
Code of the Philippines ( NSCP 4 Edition. 1992 ) Sec 2.3 and shall be
calculated for any height by the following formula:
P = Ce Cq Qs I
Where:
P = Design Wind Pressure
Ce = Combined height, exposure, and gust factor coefficient
Cq = Pressure coefficient for the structure or portion of
structure under consideration
Qs = Wind stagnation pressure at the standard height of 10.0m
I = Important factor (1.15 )
The structure is assumed to be under Exposure B Exposure B has terrain with
Buildings, Forest or surface irregularities 6.0m or more in height covering at
least 20% of area extending 1.5 kilometers or more from the site.
3.4 EQUIPMENT LOAD
3.4.1 Live loads are the actual equipment loading for designated areas.

3.4.2 Distribution of loads

All equipments loads are static load include estimated dust load
Built up temporarily/ accidentally in cyclone, Built up of dust in
Cyclone has been calculated for 100% of each cyclone cone volume
and shall not occur simultaneously in more than one cyclone.
3.5 SEISMIC LOADS
3.5.1 Seismic loads for structure shall be based on National Structural
Code of the Philippines (NSCP 4 Edition) Chapter 2 Sec 2.2.5.2 for
static base shear computation.

Vc = total base shear

2= 0.40 of zone 4 (NSCP)
I = 1.25 for essential facility structure
C = 1.25 S
1^ 2/3
S = 1.2 factor for ground condition
T = Ct ( Hn)^3/4 Fundamental period of vibration of the Structure in seconds in
the direction under consideration.
Ct = 0.075 for Reinforced concrete moment resisting space frame
Hn = height in meter above base on National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP 4Edition) chapter 2 sec 2.2.6.5 & UBC 1631.5
3.5.3 Distribution of lateral forces
3.5.3.1 The storey share force at each floor level will be scaled according to the
requirements of UBC 94 sec 1631.54
3.6 LOAD COMBINATION

Whichever produces unfavorable effect.
3.6.1 For Ultimate Strength Design
Load combination for the structures shall be based on ACI
318- 91.Chapter 9.
3.6.1.1 Load combination to resist dead and live load shall be:
1.4DL + 1.7LL
3.6.1.2 If resistance to specified wind load is included in design load
Combination shall be:
0.75 ( I .4DL + 1.7LL + 1.87WL )
3.6.1.3 If resistance to specified seismic load is included in the design, load

3.6.1.4 Where load combination includes both full value of dead load and zero
Value for live load:

0.90DL +1.3WL
3.6.1.6 If resistance to earth pressure is included in the design, load
Combination shall be:
1.4 DL + 1.7 LL +1.4 FL
3.6.2 For Allowable Stress Design (Alternate Design Method)

0.75 ( DL +LL + WL )
3.6.1.3 If resistance to specified seismic load is included in the design, load

Note:

a) In any combination, Design load shall not be lower than that of live load plus
Live load combination.
b) When Seismic force is included in the design, Wind force shall be replaced by

4. METHOD OF ANALYSIS
4.1 The structural will be analyzed with using STAAD.Pro ANALYSIS and Staad.Etc
