Rear LED footwell retrofit

Parts needed:
2x: LED module: 5G0947409
2x wiring
No VAGCOM coding needed.

This guide describes only left hand-side of retrofit, but right hand side is the
same. It is enough to repeat steps from 1.

Step 1

Look at the plastic part cover the tunnel. Pry it with screw driver or some other
flat tool and detach by moving UP. It may be a little hard, since tunnel is fasten
very tighten.

Step 2

Once the tunnel is detached, just remove the plastic triangle. You should have
something like this:

Step 3

Remove front LED light located at the top, below glovebox. Disconnect the cable.
We use our wiring to make kind of adapter being longer version of cable going
from BCM.
Connect the feminine part of our wiring to masculine part of exisiting
installation. It should look this this:

Step 4

Connect the LED module. Place it in its holder under the glovebox.

Step 5.

Place the wiring in the tunnel starting from triangle and extend to long tunnel.

Once the wiring is on the position, where carpet floor ends, we are going to move
it under the factory carpet.

Step 6

Place wiring under the factory floor it may be a little less elastic, but you have
to make a space with your hand. Use the rectangular hole to take out the wire.
Red line marks the position of the cable under the floor. I figure it out to arrange

wiring in the edges, so there is no chance you brake the wiring with your feets or
by moving the seat.

This is the milestone. If you look under the front seat, there is a wire tunnel
where seatbelts warning wiring goes etc. I managed to dive the wire again
under the floor and take out the cable in this tunnel. It is not necessary, but will
bu consisent, while this tunnel is dedicated for wires:

Step 7

Assemble plastic parts on the front:

Step 8

Try to move cable to the rear of the seat there is not much space to do that, but
a little patiency will be helpful:

Step 9

Under the seat you will find rectangular hole being a footwell holder. Move the
wiring in there.

Step 10.

Connect module. It should lights up J

.. and the hardest part is to place module in hole. Unfortunetely there is
kind of sponge making HUGE resistence. It is very hard to place module
with wiring in there. Once you manage that, metal hole is very tight so
you will have to use force, so module clicks in there.
