AstraZeneca has opportunities for high calibre graduates to join our AstraZeneca IT
Graduate Programme in 2016, available in the following countries: India, China, United
Kingdom, Sweden and US.
The objective of the AZ TLDP is to create and develop a pipeline of technically focused
talent within the AstraZeneca IT Organization.

What Are We Looking For?
The objective of the AZ TLDP is to create and develop a pipeline of talent within the
AstraZeneca IT Organization so you will need to demonstrate real ability and desire to
bring innovation to AZ IT.
First and foremost, we're looking for people who are passionate about working in
pharmaceuticals & health, and have the desire to make a difference and a drive to
deliver maximum value by creating solutions to meet business needs.
You will be expected to quickly understand the AstraZeneca environment. In addition, it's
crucial you have strong business acumen, plus the ability to develop great leadership and
change management capabilities.
You should hold a University Degree equivalent to a BSc, MSc or PhD in an area such as
Information Science and Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems
Management, other IT related degree disciplines/or simply have a passion for technology.
You will need to show evidence of leadership capabilities, have reasonable technical
ability and have the confidence to express your opinions and ideas to drive innovation
and fresh thinking within AZ.
You should hold a valid passport and be comfortable with an element of global travel if
the role requires it. As we are a global organization, you will also need to be fluent in
English. Additional language skills are desirable.
How Does the Programme Work?
The two year Programme will consist of 4 rotations of 6 months throughout various teams
in AZ IT, each role with increasing responsibility and challenge.
The Programme will allow participants to build strong skills in all facets of IT (Project
Management, App Maintenance, App Design, etc.)
You will complete your placements across our IT functions which will provide you with an
opportunity to gain invaluable insight and influence decisions within different areas of the
business. As you learn more about AstraZeneca, the placement roles will hold
increasing levels of responsibility. Upon completion of the Programme, and subject to
performance, we will aim to move you into a permanent position based on your skills,
experience, interests and business need.

There will be annual assessments of your leadership capabilities and individual


performance which will provide insight into your strengths and development areas and
inform decision making on next placements and ultimately permanent positions.
Participants will be encouraged to have roles across multiple capabilities in IT such as:

Participants will be empowered to network and seek roles based on their personal
interests. However the Programme Steering Committee will make all final decisions on
placements.
Examples of the type of tasks & activities you will be undertaking within AZ IT include:

Working with the Business Analyst community in gathering functional and


technical requirements from our business users in order to develop new go-tomarket solutions;

Testing business solutions to ensure they meet the specification of the business
users;

Benchmarking and analysing new services focused on social networks and new
media;

Implementing collaboration and cloud based technologies to drive business value;

Delivering exciting projects and programmes which are aligned to business


strategies and goals;

Developing and managing our landscape of application and infrastructure


services;

Taking ownership of technical specifications for application and infrastructure and


directing architectural alignment;

Enhancing business interactions through high-performing and easily-accessible


mobile applications;

Defining and implementing Key Performance Indicators and Metrics for support
and network related activities;

Delivering architected solutions in a timely and cost effective manner, balanced


with the desire to align with strategic roadmaps and IT standards in order to
reduce total cost of ownership;

Developing and configuring solutions as required from conceptualisation through


to stabilisation using various computer platforms;

Engaging in maintenance and support activities as well as routine analysis and


evaluation on resource requirements necessary to maintain and/or expand service
level;

Incident management covering technical troubleshooting, resource co-ordination


and dispute resolution as required on an incident by incident basis

The closing date for applications is 31st December 2015 at 5pm GMT. You will be
notified in early 2016 if you have been selected for a first round telephone interview.
Following the telephone interviews, you will be notified if you have been selected to
attend an Assessment Centre. You will be advised of further details about the
Assessment Centre as part of your telephone interview.
