BITS AND PIECES INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION
Little Things Means a Lot
Case Summary

The Bits and Pieces International Corporation (BPIC), an injection

molded plastic products manufacturer, became a fast-growing company
within a span of four (4) years. BIPC is maintaining an office at Makati
Avenue in Makati and plant Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Due to its companys market potential they have decided to expand by
means of adding new product, the tissue holder. In order to do so, they need
to improve its facilities including land, building, machinery and equipment,
thus additional manpower is required.

Problem

Noted that BPIC does not maintain a sale fore and the General
Manager itself acts as a marketing executive and directly transacts business
with customer. Thus the additional manpower is required?

Alternative course of actions

Because of the expansion the company this is highly required for

additional manpower specially the direct sale forces. Each must provide
larger quantity within each position that will be added to their organizational

chart. Hiring more helper would help a lot for each Machinist who is hands-on
on the production of their product.

Solution and Recommendation

The company are targeting a greater profit than their previous sales
and production capacity, they increases the property, building, machinery
and equipment but then it is most required and important for the BPIC
Company to directly increase the manpower proportionally to the increase in
machineries and equipment. During its operation additional worker who is
who are highly knowledgeable to operate and manipulate everything during
operation. Increased in manpower requirement because plants personnel
are the ones responsible in operating those as well. If expansion in land and
in production capacity is being proposed, then provision of adding additional
quantities for every position/designation must be highly emphasized in the
companys proper business handling and management.
