With 65 kilometres of coastline along the Gulf and close proximity to the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, Ras Al Khaimahs maritime
legacy is part of the Emirates culture. For many years the UAEs fourth largest, and northernmost Emirate has continued to serve as a major

RAK Maritime City is the latest, and most advanced, maritime free zone to
open in the United Arab Emirates. The vision of H.H. Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr
Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, RAK
Maritime City is a project of huge dimensions, which in turn will have a
long lasting impact on the maritime industry across the region.
The fifth state of the art port facility in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, the
project covers 8 million square metres of strategically located coastland,
combining a dedicated harbour, access to deepwater berths in the future,
5 kilometres of new quay wall, exclusive private jetties, deep harbour
entrance, plus a variety of plots for industrial, commercial and general
trading businesses.
The benefits are as diverse as the offerings. RAK Maritime City free zone
combines the best in international port facilities with inherent business
advantages for companies seeking cost efficient, secure, transparent and
customized business answers with the best in tax benefits.
RAK Maritime City will be zoned into areas for specified use retail,
warehousing, general cargo handling, industrial production and
manufacturing, tank storage and shipbuilding or repairs. Each will be

choice of trading licences, work permits and UAE residence visas.

Focusing on dry-docking and ship repair for


small to medium sized vessels. The latest onestop-shop further covers the complete scope
of maritime and shipping needs through the
extensive 50,000 square metres dry dock and
ship lifting system, complete with 12 dry berths.
The synchro lift has a lifting capacity of 1,000
tonnes and can accommodate vessels up to 55
metres in length and 18 metres wide.

Constructed and opened in 2009, this new port


has superb facilities for the handling of livestock,
leisure craft, dhows, and general cargo vessels,
and has facilities for provisioning and refuelling
services. With a sailing club, 266 berth marina,
and a whole range of services both on water
and on land, its the ideal addition for vessels
wishing to complete UAE to Oman paperwork
in a fraction of the time.

terminal catering for the increasing interest in
