Job Purpose
You will be responsible for regularly liaising with the research team to maximize data entry and
data systems. You will take overall responsibility for all aspects of the administrative functions of
the project. This is a key post requiring exceptional managerial and coordination of skills. As
such, having excellent organisational and time-keeping skills is essential for this post.
Key accountabilities
To provide proactive, high quality, confidential and flexible support to the project team.
Being the first line with regards to our data collection and entry.
Using the SEQUIN database to input results.
Organise the production of agendas and minutes, generate progress reports and deliver
presentations for all committee meetings.
To coordinate activities for the fieldwork undertaken as part of the project.
To arrange and attend group meetings, which may occur at irregular hours due to
conflicting timetables.
Implementing regulations and practices to fulfill efficient project administration.
Providing first-line administrative support and pastoral care for all department staff based
on site.
To prepare documents and help to produce reports, statistics and charts using the
database and Excel spreadsheets.
Collating all technical and scientific material from all partners relating to the project
deliverables.
You will act as the central point of contact for all material relating to the project, prior to
sending information out to the relevant statutory bodies.
Attending office and team meetings to report/discuss progress within the schemes.
Assisting with other aspects of the project, as directed by the Project Manager.
To initiate, build and maintain effective professional networks internally and externally.

Undertaking all the above in a manner which ensures the confidentiality of the project
partners.

Communications Officer
Essential
The applicant must hold a full clean driving license, as the position involves travel around
Greater Manchester.
Substantial relevant experience within the urban health driven projects.
Must be able to work autonomously for the majority of the time.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and organise own workload and
to work to strict deadlines, using own initiative appropriately with supervision.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in the use of appropriate computer software, such as Microsoft Office
(including Microsoft Word and Excel), mailmerge, SiteManager, email and the internet.
Knowledge of the SEQUIN database is essential.
Experience of data entry and a good understanding of databases.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
A proactive and flexible approach to work, and a willingness to undertake new tasks,
undergo training and learn new skills as required, particularly in response to changing
office technology and project development.
Ability to communicate effectively, confidently and independently with members of the
general public, in a pleasant, helpful and efficient manner, whether in person, over the
telephone, or in writing.
Ability to use discretion with sensitive information and to maintain complete confidentiality
at all times.
Experience of minute taking.
The person must be available to work in the evenings and at weekends when necessary.
Experience of working in a higher education environment.
