The Pre-Flood World

When YHVH created the Heavens and the
Earth He separated the waters below from the
waters above on the Second Day. The waters
below consisted of rivers, lakes and the
oceans. The waters above the firmament
gathered and formed a water or ice canopy
that enclosed and protected the earth above
the atmosphere. Note that all the other days YHVH said that it was good,
except this day. We will touch on this later in this study.
Rain did not exist until after the flood came and we read from Scripture
that the earth was watered by mist that came forth from the earth. The flood
covered the whole earth including all the mountains. Where did all this water
come from? It came from the waters above that rained down for 40 days and
40 nights.
Prior to the Flood people lived becoming close to 1000 years of age because
of this protective water canopy above the firmament that filtered out all harmful
infrared and x-rays. After the flood, the water canopy no longer existed, and
man
only became a maximum of 120 years old. (Gen 6:3)
Spiritual Application: The waters above had two functions, it preserved and
protected and later on it Judged and cleansed. The Word (water) of YHVH is
similar; it protects and keeps those who submit under it so that they will
have a long life, but to those who rebel against it, they will be destroyed by it.

The Bigger Picture

Three cataclysmic things happened from Creation within the first 11 chapters of
Genesis that changed humanity forever:
1. Adam & Eve ate of the forbidden tree which resulted in the ground being
cursed, bringing forth thorns, in toil (etzev) man shall eat of the earth and
women will bear children in pain (etzev).
2. Then there was the Flood. It wiped out the world, all humans and animals
except 8 souls, 1 pair of each kind of animal were saved, and 7 pairs of
each kind of clean animals were rescued (Gen 7:2). Why more clean
animals?
3. Men build the Tower of Babel, and the language was confused into many
languages resulting in the scattering of mankind all over all the earth.
All these things were a result of sin that came after YHVHs creation. These
things had a big impact on the Plan of YHVH and what His original intent was
and He had to do something to reverse the effect of sin and its consequences
so that He could Restore back His Creation its original design and purpose.
The process was started through Yshua Who was sent into this realm to restore
the effects of these major events:
1. The first event had an adverse effect on YHVHs Word; it brought lies and
false doctrines distorting His Word.
2. The second event had an impact on YHVHs Creation; Human DNA were
defiled by the interference of the Fallen Angels. They mixed (sexual or
scientific) with the daughters of man and produced Giants (Gen 6).
3. The third event violated YHVHs Authority, where man wanted to become
like God where nothing would be impossible for them if they succeeded
becoming One or Echad.

The Wickedness of Mankind YHVH Repented

Gen 6:6-7 And YHVH repented that He had made man on the earth, and
He was angry to His heart. (7) And YHVH said, I will destroy man whom I
have created, from the face of the earth, both man, and beast, and the
creeping thing, and the fowls of the air. For I repent that I have made them.
Q Why did YHVH repent, did He have any sin to repent from?
Repentance is the Hebrew word nacham that means to sigh, that is,
breathe strongly; by implication to be sorry, that is, (in a favorable sense) to
pity, console or (reflexively) rue; or (unfavorably) to avenge or to take
revenge (oneself): - comfort (self), ease [ones self], repent (-er, -ing, self).
The word nacham means to be sorry; YHVH repented that He made man and
He wanted to take vengeance and destroy (judge) man. Another interesting
thing seen in the Hebrew is that the word for repent, nacham \,xn also
reveals what the judgment will be.
Nacham ends with the mem , that means water that links perfectly with the
context of this verse where this judgement will be by water.

What is even more fascination is when you remove the Mem or water,
indicating that the water resided, you are left with Nun Chet xn that spells
Noach. Noah means rest and comfort and those who took YHVH Word
serious connected themselves with the Nun-Chet or Noah and entered His
Rest (Ark) while the ones who rejected the Truth,
joined themselves with the Mem or water that
became their Judge. The Word of YHVH is His water
that cleanses, and you can decide the cleansing
process; out of free will, submitting under the water of
the Word, or out of rebellion, rejecting the Word only
to drown in judgement later on. The same is with
Yshua; you can accept Him as your Saviour or reject
Him and meet Him as your Judge. Another thing to
note is that Salvation is always happens in a time of Judgement, you are not
saved yet, you are in the process of being saved.
Q What do you have to do to avoid Judgment?
We find this is the opening words of John the Baptist as well as Yshuas
ministry Repent for the Kingdom is at hand. We saw how YHVH repented but
there is another word for repentance in Scripture that relates to us and that is
the word shoob that means; to turn back, to retreat, to return. Eze 14 explains
what this repentance is all about:
Eze 14:6-7 Therefore say to the house of Israel, So says the Adonai YHVH:
REPENT and TURN from your idols, and TURN AWAY your faces from all
your abominations. (7) For every one of the house of Israel, or of the
stranger who lives in Israel, who separates himself from Me and sets up his
idols in his heart, and puts the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his
face, and comes to a prophet to ask of him concerning Me; I YHVH will
answer him Myself.
This repentance has to do with people who separated themselves from YHVH.
We saw last week that separation is part of the creation process and every day
was good except the 2nd day when He separated the waters from the waters.
When He separated the waters below from the waters above He knew that the
waters above will come down in the time of Noah in the form of Judgement on
those who have separated themselves from Him (v7).
Separating things that are different it is good, like the separation of light and
darkness, water and land, but when you separate things that are the same, like
water and water or people and people, then it is not good. Separating yourself
from YHVH is like the separation of water with water because you are of
the same substance as YHVH, made in His Image. People who separate
themselves from YHVH triggers the separated water from above down onto
themselves in the form of Judgment that will destroy them. YHVH knew when
He separated the waters from the waters on Day 2, what will happen in the
future, and that was not good.

Measurements of the Ark & Prayer

When Noah constructed the Ark according to the
instructions YHVH gave him, He only instructed the
Ark to have one window on top with a dimension of
1 cubit by 1 cubit. The rest of the Arks dimensions
were given in a cubit that provides us with the idea
that YHVH used the window as a measuring stick,
to construct the rest of the Ark with. This makes that
one little window one of the most important aspects
of the Ark and we know that YHVH uses small insignificant things (according to
man) to shame the wise. (1 Cor 1:27).
Q There is something else that was constructed later and had the
the dimension of 1 cubit by 1 cubit do you know what that is?
In Mosess time, YHVH gave instructions for the construction of the Tabernacle
and all the dimensions were in cubit as well. One particular object was the same
size as the window of Noahs Ark and that was the Golden Altar of Incense.
This connects the window of the Ark with the Golden Altar.
Q What did the Golden Altar of Incense represent?
The Golden Altar of Incense represents the prayers that went up before
YHVH that stood in front of the Holy of Holies, as prayers are offered to
Him in the Spiritual. The window in the Ark also represented Noahs
prayers as he battled the storms in the physical. This connects the
window of prayer on the earth with the Altar of prayer in the Heavens,
both measured in prayers. The Ark is a symbol of your salvation, and the
the tabernacle is a symbol of your worship, and both are based and
founded on prayer. This makes your prayer life a very important aspect of
your spiritual wellbeing, and the health of your spiritual self can be
measured by your prayer life. May you prosper as your soul prospers. (3
John 1:2)
When you experience turmoil and lifes destructing waters makes your life
unstable and you cannot see land or an outcome, then look up through that
window to the Fathers presence to receive an outcome for your
challenges you face. The important thing to always realise is that you are in the
Boat, in the Ark of Salvation, which is Yshua, and He will not let you drown.
Invest time in prayer; it is the building block of your spiritual life and relationship
with YHVH. We looked at the Sabbath last week and saw that it exists in the 4 th
dimension (time), a higher dimension than our physical 3-dimensional world,
lower than the Spiritual dimension. Time or the 4th dimension connects the
physical realm with the Spiritual realm thus making prayer the way to connect
and break through to the higher spiritual dimension where YHVH is. This makes
prayer one of the most important aspects of your spiritual life and you should
give it priority to have a healthy relationship with YHVH and a
successful life.
Delayed Answers: Prayer sometimes takes time to manifest
itself in the physical realm in the form of answered prayer. Why
is this? Because of the nature of prayer, it connects the physical
with the spiritual and has to move through the dimension of time
4

to bring forth what it is intended for, and that causes delays from our
perspective. That is why you must keep on standing in faith until you see the
result of your prayer. Some people lose patience and give up saying that YHVH
will not hear them. He does hear you; it only takes time and patience and faith is
the key to answered prayers.
Faith is the link and bridge you build between the Physical and Spiritual
Realms to connect the outcome or answer to our prayer to us. For your prayer
to be answered, the bridge must be maintained until the solution has travelled
to you. Stand in faith until your prayer is answered. Another reason is because
of the complex Spiritual Realm where things have to happen first before it can
manifest in the Physical. We find an example in Scripture where Daniel prayed
and the answer did not come to him immediately because of a battle that had to
be won in the spiritual before he received his answer.

Nephilim or Giants on the Earth

Q - Why did YHVH destroy the world in the time of Noah?
Gen 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and
perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with Elohim.
Noah was perfect in his
generations, and that means that
he and his family were not defiled
by the fallen angel defilement that
we read prior in Gen 6:1-4:
Genesis 6:1-4 The sons of
Elohim saw that the daughters of
men were fair, and they took
wives of all that they desired and
chose. . .There were giants in the
earth in those days and also
afterwards when the sons of
God lived with the daughters of
men, and they bore CHILDREN
to them
The Fallen Angels either had the technology to defile YHVHs Creation or they
had sexual intercourse with humans to contaminate the known human race in
the time of Noah. Noah and His family were just and righteous and kept their
distance from this evil. This is the most plausible explanation of why YHVH
made the decision to judge the whole earth and destroy it. If you read the Book
of Enoch, you will get more insight into this topic and
more detail on the Giants or Nephilim that walked the
earth in the time of Noah.
Today archaeologists find evidence not only of these
Giants skeletons that proof their existence, but also the
structures that were build that is not even possible with
todays technology which was the handy work of the
Nephilim or Giants.

The Covenant with Noah

Adam and Eve were in a relationship with YHVH by having His Spirit; His Breath
breathed into them right from the beginning. When they sinned, they lost the
Spiritual Connection with YHVH and were removed from His Presence.
In Noahs time wickedness and violence ruled
and YHVH decided to start with a clean slate,
cleansing the earth from all wickedness. This
was the first example of salvation where YHVH
saved His people in the time of Judgement.
Gen 9:8-9 And Elohim spoke to Noah,
and to his sons with him, saying, (9)
Behold! I, even I, establish My covenant
with you, and with your seed after you;
After the Flood, YHVH spoke to Noah and showed him the Rainbow, the sign of
the Covenant regarding the past and future Judgements. The rainbow is not
only a sign that YHVH will not destroy the Earth with water again, but is a
reminder that He will cleanse the Earth with Fire.
2 Peter 3:3-7 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days
scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the
promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue
as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly
are ignorant of, that by the word of Elohim the heavens were of old, and
the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the
world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the
heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in
store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of
ungodly men.
Yshua said that His Second Coming would be like in the days of Noah where
people will go about their business and not be prepared for what is coming due
to a lack of knowledge and unbelief.
Matthew 24:37-39 For the Son of Mans coming will be just as it was in
the days of Noach. Back then, before the Flood, people went on eating and
drinking, taking wives and becoming wives, right up until the day that
Noach entered the ark; and they didnt know what was happening until
the Flood came and swept them all away. It will be just like that when the
Son of Man comes.
To be sure, the passage in 2 Peter also mentions the conditions in which we
will be living that will usher in the return of Messiah and the Judgment of YHVH.
So now that we have been sufficiently warned in advance, what shall we do to
prepare ourselves? Most believers are ignorant of the end times and what to do
in order to prepare. Noah had the plan YHVH gave him to follow and we have
the Book of Revelation to study to prepare ourselves. Rev 1:3 states that
everyone reading and doing what is in the Book will be blessed. Are you
ignorant or do you understand Revelation so that you will be blessed prior to
His Second Coming. This is the message to His Covenant people to be ready,
to be watchman and to warn others of the final Judgment that is at hand similar
to the days of Noah.
6

Q What is the purpose of a Covenant?

A Covenant is needed in order to have a relationship with fallen man. This
Covenant agreement covers our fallen state while we are created into His
Likeness, so that we can be reunited with Him in the Garden of Eden (New
Jerusalem) at His Second Coming. Every Covenant has a sign that acts as a
reminder, like the rainbow, when you see it you think of what YHVH promised.

The Ark is a Picture of Messiah

There are some similarities between the Ark and Messiah:

The Ark was made using incorruptible wood Messiah was a man without sin.
A dove descended upon the Ark while in the
water and a dove descended upon Messiah when
He was baptised.
The purpose of the Ark to save mankind and that
is Messiahs purpose as well.
People could enter the Ark out of free will, and
you accept Messiah as your Saviour out of free
will.
The entrance was on the side of the Ark where the Noah and his family
came out after judgement and Yshuas side was opened where water
and blood came out when He died as a result of the judgement of sin.
Noah and his family found rest in the Ark during the time of judgement
and we will enter into His rest while the earth is going to be judged.

YHVHs Grace: YHVH said that He would not destroy the earth until
Methuselah died. Methuselah was the oldest person recorded in Scripture (969
years old) and that shows YHVHs grace and that He delayed Judgement in
order to give humanity more time to repent. Methuselah was the 8 th born from
Adam, 8 means new beginnings, and this is what the flood signify; new
beginnings for mankind. Yshua also tarries before His Coming before His
Judgement so that more people can be saved. Grace is seen in Noahs name;
Noach xn means rest, but if you reorder letters you get Chen ]x that means
grace. Even during Judgement YHVH takes care of His people giving them rest
and grace.

Keep your Balance

Noah is described as ish adamah, the man of the earth
when he planted a vineyard, made wine, got drunk and
was found naked in his tent by his son Ham.
Q Ever wondered why Noah made wine and got drunk?
Was it the fermentation process that took him by surprise
due to climate change because the water canopy
vanished after the flood? Was it an indication to the righteous to show them that
they can fall?

We all have a yetzer harah or evil inclination that tries to draw us away from
YHVH. Yetzer means imagination and Rah means evil giving the meaning of
evil imagination. The evil inclination or imagination always tries to convince
you that bad is good and good is bad, trying to get you to stumble. Paul calls it
the old man or old nature that you battle against in order to live a holy life.
The yetzer hara is not a demonic force, but rather man's misuse of things the
physical body needs to survive. Losing balance if you like; the need for food
becomes gluttony, the gift of procreation becomes lust, etc., all because of the
yetzer hara.
If you give ear to this voice in your head, it will convince you with your own logic
to do something that might tip you over the edge into sin. This probably
happened to Eve when that voice that told her to go closer to the tree just to
look at the beautiful fruit. Next thing, she was taking a bite.
Q - Was this the voice that tempted Noah to drink just one more unto a point of
overindulgence?
In order to keep your balance and not sinning can be explained by the
example of a tightrope walker. A tightrope walker maintains his balance by
leaning slightly to the opposite side of what he feels is compromising his
balance. If you do not do this when you feel drawn to the wrong side, losing
balance, you will not compensate and move away from danger, loose balance
and fall to your death. Noah is described as ish adamah, the man of the earth

tent by his son Ham.

used to be a problem and struggled with before you accepted Yshua.

Do not reason with your Yetzer Harah, and do not place yourself in situations
that will tip your weaknesses loosing balance and fall into sin.

Noahs Sin, Hams Curse Creating Future

Enemies
Gen 9:20 -26 And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a
vineyard. Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became
uncovered in his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the
nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and
Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went
backwards and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were
turned away, and they did not see their father's nakedness.
We will all be tempted with the sin of Ham. Will your face be turned away not
see someone elses nakedness?
Q - What does it mean to uncover someones nakedness?
After Adam and Eve had sinned, they realised they were naked, and we can
make the connection that sin and nakedness are related, sin exposes your true
nature and others can see it. If we see a righteous person really messed up, are
you acting as Ham or as Shem and Japheth? Are you exposing them or
covering them in love? Ham exposed his fathers nakedness but Shem and
Japheth covered his sin.
Shem means, name and he became
the father of the nation of Israel as well
as the Arab nations. They moved to
settle in the Middle East and Asia
areas.
Japheth comes from the word patach
that means to open, it also comes
from the word yaphah that means
beautiful. Japheth became the father
of all the European nations and spread
and populated Europe.
Ham means, heat and that fits his sin where he operated in heat of the
moment. Without thinking, he acted in the flesh and caused a curse to come
upon him and his descendants. They moved down to settle in the Northern
parts of Africa. Ham was the father of Mizraim that became the father to the
people of Mitzraim better known as Egypt. He was also the father of Canaan
became the father of the nation called the Canaanites. He also had a son Cush
who was the father Nimrod, the king of the Babylonians. All three these
descendants of Ham became future enemies of Israel; the Egyptians, the
Canaanites and the Babylonians.
Q What can we learn from this?
Every sin you commit has a consequence, and that consequence creates an
enemy waiting to attack, lurking in your future. It does not mean that you will
not overcome these enemies but it would have been much easier for Israel if
the Egyptians, the Babylonians and the Canaanites were friends and not
9

enemies that tried to prevent them to enter the Promised Land. Sin will always
try to stop you from walking in YHVHs ways because it comes from the seed
of Satan. Sin is the enemy that infiltrates believers, trying to stop us from
entering YHVHs Kingdom.
We tend to give Satan a lot of credit if things go wrong and we end up rebuking
him, but it was our own doing that caused dynamics and hardship in our lives
that came into being through the consequence of our sins we have committed in
the past.
You can say that Yshua washed you clean with His Blood and forgave you of
all of your sins but there will always be consequences. A good example of this
is found in Scripture describing one of the most Spirit-filled believers who ever
lived prior to Yshua, his name was David. He was a man who prophesied, wrote
the most beautiful Psalms and he was a man after YHVHs own
heart, truly someone to look up to. Unfortunately, he committed a
sin in his past that haunted him for the rest of his life. That enemy
was his own son Absalom, who was born out of an illegitimate
relationship that involved murder as well. YHVH gave David victory
over that enemy at the end, but He did not take away the
consequences of Davids sin, David had to battle against it for a
long time. That is perhaps why YHVH did not take away the thorn
in Pauls flesh but said that His grace is enough for him. Was this
thorn an enemy Paul created in his past that came as a
consequence of sin? (2 Cor 12:7)

Nimrod & Tower of Babel

So, whos Nimrod? He was the first king on the Earth, the grandson of Ham
(see Gen. 10). His secular name is suspected to be Sargon I, and he built
Babylon and Nineveh. It was possibly Nimrod who built the Tower of Babel,
a ziggurat made of bricks; the ruins exist still. Nimrod was a towering figure and
he represents the spirit that is in the world. Nimrod deliberately rebelled against
YHVH and became the descriptor of people. Scripture says that he was a
mighty hunter before YHVH. The word before can also imply to be in YHVHs
face or in defiance of YHVH.
Hunter is the word zaid means ensnared and
he entrapped men to follow him against the
Almighty. The fact that he was a hunter means
that he was killing everything that what YHVH
saved. Nimrod turned the people against the
truth, and began the worship of the sky
luminaries. Children were sacrificed in exchange
for prosperity. He wore a headpiece with a horn
in front as ruler, a symbol of power and authority.
In fact, all crowns that are modelled with horns
are based on this design. Nimrods idolatry and
ruthlessness caused his uncle, Shem, to destroy him, cutting his body into parts
and distributing them around the kingdom.
Q Why did Nimrod build the Tower of Babel?

10

Nimrod wanted to be like YHVH, to be Echad or One and he build a tower to

accomplish that. The second possibility is, because he knew the history
of the flood, he wanted to avoid a similar future event, building something other
than an Ark to save humanity. The spirit of Nimrod is trying to find alternate
ways of salvation. We know there is only one way and we find similar religions
today that seeks alternative means of salvation other than through Yshua the
Messiah. Within this Parashah, we find two structures of Salvation; the Ark of
Noah and the Tower of Babel. Comparing these two structures will give us
deeper insights into YHVHs Plan vs. Satans counterfeit plan.

Based on Life Symbol of Tree of

Based on Knowledge Symbol of
Tree of Knowledge.

Q What is the symbol of Tower of Babel, what does it represent?

Babylon means mixing and confusion, mixing and merging of religions causes
people to loose their true faith and change it for a watered down hybrid faith
consisting of different religions and philosophies, losing its power. The moment
you dilute truth with non-truths forms other faiths you remove the power from the
pure Word of YHVH. We read the following in the Book of Revelation regarding
the Babylon system:
Rev 17:4-5 The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned
with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup
full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, 5and on
her forehead a name was written, a mystery, "BABYLON THE GREAT,
THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE
EARTH."
The Tower of Babel not only caused issues in the time of Genesis, but is still is
a problem today and referred to as the Woman riding the Beast and
the Mother of Harlots. Everywhere you read in Scripture about a woman or
female figure, it represents a religious organisation. She being the mother
implies that she has subordinates or daughters, which are other religious
systems and organisations that are founded on similar beliefs and who are
subject to Her authority, tactics and doctrines. This system confuses YHVHs
people and He commands us to come out of Her. (Rev 18:4)
11

The Tower of Babel had one language, and YHVH confused the language so
that the evil unity can be broken. In the same way, we see that the Babylonian
Religious System today consists of many languages (Religions) and try to
unify them into One Religion. YHVH will confuse them and scatter them in order
to show then His One true God.
We see an interesting example in the Book of Daniel. Daniel lived at the
onset of the Babylonian Exile. He and his friends (Shadrakh, Meshakh, and
Abednego) were part of the first wave of Jews to be exiled to Babylon by
King Nebuchadnezzar. In Chapter 3 of the Book of Daniel, we are told
how Nebuchadnezzar erected a giant golden statue in the valley of
Dura, the place where Nimrod had constructed the Tower of Babel. He called
all of his ministers and governors together from every corner of his
kingdom and commanded them to bow down to the statue, all peoples,
nations and languages.
This Giant Golden Statue is synonym to the Tower of Babel, and we read in
Dan 2:24-29 that the Rock will come and smash the statue at its feet,
destroying the systems created by man (political as well as religious) so that
YHVHs Kingdom can be established before His Coming. This shows us
that this Torah Portion is linked to the End Times and to the book of
Daniel and Revelation and the message is for us living in the last days so that
we can prepare ourselves for His Coming.

Confusing the Speech

YHVH created through speech, and he confused speech at the
Tower of Babel. Speech is the medium to translate an idea or
thought from one mind to another. All languages are symbolic.
YHVH created through speech everything He spoke into
existence and that we see around us is symbolic of something
greater in the mind of YHVH. YHVH has wings, He has a right
hand, He is a consuming fire, etc. These symbols help us
understand Who He is. The Bible also uses parables to explain
truths. When YHVH gave His Torah He wrote it with His finger not
spoken, it is more real and robust than sound.
A language is a medium to translate and transfer an invisible spiritual
reality or insight or truth from one intelligent being to another. Spiritual life is only
communicated through words. What does confusion of the languages bring,
spiritual death? Cannot share with you what is in me. Sin destroyed the medium
to connect people spiritually. Pentecost YHVH have Torah on Sinai mixed
multitude heard YHVH in their own Language Acts 2 HS placed T on their
hearts mixed Multitude heard the T in their own language.

The story of Noah and the Flood is the best picture of what salvation is all about
and when that salvation will take place. Yshua connects the flood event with the
Second Coming where He will come again to judge the world. YHVH promised
never to destroy the world again by water as stared in our current Parashah
(8:21), and in its corresponding Haftarah (Isaiah 54:9). Yet, because of the
continued evil condition of the hearts of men, he must render judgment once
again, only this time the destruction will be by fire (2 Peter Chapter 3,
specifically vs. 3-7). To be sure, the passage in 2 Peter also mentions the
conditions in which we will be living which will usher in the return of Messiah,
and the Judgment of HaShem. So now that we have been sufficiently warned in
advance, what shall we do to prepare ourselves?
The lessons to be learned from Parashat Noach are timeless. Moreover, the
solution to the dilemma that is facing mankind is still the samethe mercy and
providence of HaShem. In our last parashah, Bresheet, we learned how the
Adversary tricked our first parents into running to the tree that God
commanded them to stay away from. By their disobedience, death and sin have
been introduced into the world, and as a result of that disobedience, all men are
slaves to sin. But in this current portion, we find a glimmer of hope, one
righteous man, of whom it is spoken, Babel is the Mother of all false religions.
