Profile

I started my career in the late 90's as a mechanical inspector in Mumbai, India. I

then, gradually moved to various disciplines of offshore construction mainly in
structural, piping and mechanical area. During my career, I have been promoted to
different departments and positions which gave me a sound technical knowledge
and management skills. This also helped me to improve my ability to handle some
of the most challenging and complex projects in any part of the world. I have been
working with many leading offshore companies at various locations which
acquainted me to various cultures and work ethics in the oil and gas industry.
Offshore industry came into my life in a very interesting way. I still remember my
secondary school days when we were asked to participate in an excursion. The
excursion was to a naval shipyard in Mumbai. We all school boys headed towards
the place of excursion and when the gates of the yard opened, for the first time, I
laid my eyes on the giant naval ship VIKRANTA. That moment will always be green
in my memory.
It was a bright sunny day and a walkthrough on the ship was arranged by the
officers. When I saw the giant vessel standing in front of me, I wondered how
humans can make such a megastructure being such a small species. That thought
haunted me and when it turned into my passion to build ships, I never knew. But
that incident fascinated me and drove me to where I am now.
I am still learning and I believe learning never ends. There no end to knowledge.
The more you get, the more you want. During my work, I always ensure that my
colleagues are benefited from my experience and learn something useful that might
contribute in their future.
With my seniors and experienced personnel, I like to share my views and seek their
valuable advice for my work. Interacting and discussing new ideas, solution to
issues and concept always leads to something extraordinary. This is what I always
believe knowledge must be shared

Until now, during my career, I have worked on several offshore projects like: FPSO,
Drillship, semi-submersibles and Jack ups. My area of work was more in technical
aspect of the project until 2011 when I was promoted to construction manager for
an FPSO. This was the period when I developed my skills in management area. It
was challenging but very interesting as well.
Then later, I was appointed as head of the Project Management Office for a
Singapore based offshore company having works in china. During this period, I
developed the PMO and its framework from scratch. After which I was promoted as
the Business Manager of the company and my main job was to represent my
company overseas and get business from there.
My journey in the oil and gas Industry has been very interesting. Many things I
learned and developed my skills to handle large and complex projects under tense
situations. I have been employed with some of the finest companies in this industry.

My seniors and my colleagues have been always a great company in my work

journey.
I have learned many important things. But some valuable learning I got from my
work tenure is beyond explanations.
I always planned my career. The planning was always in context to learn more and
grow higher in the offshore world. But the most interesting incident happened in my
career was my arrival to china. I was to join as a hull engineer in London and was on
a vacation for a month. It was then, one my colleagues asked me if I was interested
to visit china and look around the offshore industry and its development there.
At first, I hesitated but then agreed to pay a visit to china and came to yantai which
is where I decided to stay back and be a part of this development. China has
become one of my longest tenure in the career path and I still am working on.

Learning was always fun for me. I always liked to read more in offshore technology
and new developments that were made in the oil and gas field.
I still intend to study more and contribute my best to the offshore industry. Few of

Offshore Industry is always changing and growing. One must keep itself updated
with latest technologies and news related to the units. I have my own blog and
channel for educational and references purposes. As and when I get time from
schedule, I will keep it posted and updated.
I have always preferred to work for challenging projects. It is like an adventure and
helps me to improvise my skills in different area. It helps and sets you to work under

pressure situations and sharpens your personality to skillful management of the

project. Path to learning and knowledge is infinite. It never ends.
I firmly believe in leadership than a bossy attitude. Team efforts and team work is
the key to successfully accomplish large projects. One must fill its team with
enthusiasm and motivation. I like to share and explain my concept and ideas. Not
my team to follow it blindly just because I understand and believe it. If the team
understands, the scope becomes easier and achievable to the set timeline and
budget.
