PUBLIC SERVICE IN RSIA SITTI KHADIJAH, IS IT

REALLY GOOD?
I am a student at the Faculty of Medicine, Muslim University of Indonesia. I
was entering the final block after passing through biomedical block 1 and biosel
namely, bioethics. In block bioethics, Humanities, and the professionalism of
Medicine there is an agenda of lectures the Field Observation, where the students of
the Faculty of Medicine, Muslim University of Indonesia commissioned to conduct
observations at various hospitals and health centers in Makassar, such as Ibnu Sina
Hospital, Siti Khadijah Mother and Childs Hospital, Orbitas Clinic, Tamalate health
centers, and Tabaringan health center. The activities that will be carried out field
observations aimed to observe see how relationship between the doctor and the
doctor, the doctor with the patient, as well as doctors with nurses and other member
in hospital
We were divided into 15 groups, including 10 groups in Indonesian language
and 5 groups in English languange. There are 11 members in one group. I was in a
group of 12, consisting of: Afrillia Chaerunnisa, Michaella Almirah Tenrisaju
Mujaddid, Sharifa Pearl, Ulfa Dinariani, Nurul Ardhia Regita, Bakda Awlira
Rahmayanti, Aydilla Lil 'Annisani HS, Rahma Ulfa, Fifi Nurfiah Sriyanti, Andi mulia
Sudirman and of course me. We got a group disposition of field observations in RSIA
Khadijah Sitti. And mentors for our group was dr. Berry E. Hasbi.
Before we do observations, we ask for referrals by our group supervisor, dr.
Berry. And we asked for confirmation first by him to the place and direction on our
field observations. Chairman of our group, Afrillia Chaerunnisa try to contacted dr.
Berry. After receiving the confirmation, he asked us to meet him in the room of Vice
Dean 1. In the room there is also there are a group of 15 who were facing also their
mentor Dr. dr. Nasruddin AM, SpOG, as vice-dean of the first faculty of medicine

Muslim University of Indonesia and also as managing director RSIA Sitti Khadijah
where we conduct field observations later.
The next day me and my group went to our observations place that RSIA Sitii
Khadijah, The hospital is located in RA. Kartini 15-17 Makassar. The hospital is
located in the town center which is easily accessible by the public. The hospital is
also quite extensive. Where RSIA Khadijah Sitti This is a hospital that has been A
accredited. Accreditation is given from the hospital accreditation committee of
Ministry of Health, this accreditation includes five services namely management and
administration, emergency, medical records, nursing and medical services. We were
given the opportunity to make a field in the hospital for four days on Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, Monday and duration of each day was as long as two hours.
On the first day, on January 6, 2016. Our group was given the mandate by dr.
Berry to arrive on time at the hospital, which is 6.30. I saw this hospital started from
the front courtyard, it appears the vehicle parking area, be it a car or motorcycle. In
terms of security can be ensured quite safe, according to the parking attendants in the
hospital courtyard. All looks good on the vehicle parking. And when viewed
cleanliness also looks good. The Cafetaria also looks very neat and clean. Each
cafeteria should have a license to sell from the hospital itself.
After we arrived at our destination, we were waiting for information from dr.
Berry on the front courdyard of the hospital, along with groups of 15. Shortly ,dr nas
car seen and the he came to dr. Berry. Then we are swiftly moving towards him. We
all follow his steps toward the hospital. While we are following the steps dr. Nas,
followed by co-ass. Then we move suddenly stopped. Then dr. Nas invited for which
her to pray Duha together. And he wants the doctors and staff at RSIA Khadijah Sitti
shall pray Duha before doing the activity. Subhannallah.
Then, my friends and me waiting in front of the administration. While
waiting, we divided our chairman into five small groups. Making each our group

consisting of 2 or 3 peoples. In order to enter each room that will be to observate

While we are also waiting, accompanied also by co-ass. With friendly, occasionally
they let circumstances and situations in the hospital. We diligently listen. We were
asked also to maintain ethics.
After he completes his Duha prayer, then we follow dr. nas to the operating
room. In the operating room, he explained to us the knowledge of OB. The facilities
in the room is quite complete since RSIA Khadijah Sitti is a hospital with A
accreditation. But when I look any facilities in the room, I found the waiting room of
the operating room with a many of people. No wonder because the hospital is also
doing renovations enlarged the hospital to meet the maximum service to the
community in Makassar.
Once out of the operating room we went straight to the maternity room which
seems to blend with the operating room. Here there are several bed. The room is
filled with patients who on average had been a patient's hospital stay.
After the maternity room, because on this day the observation group there are
two groups, and we were divided our group to a small groups. Rooms of these to
observe that where these places are: Poly Space children, Delivery Room,
hospitalization room, emergency room, or operating room is OK, and the babies
room.
Then our group spreads, entering each room. I was with my friend, Ayla
walked into the corridor inpatient unit. Then, not long after that we met a middleaged woman, we directly interviewed the woman. Do not forget we ask permission
from her and explained our intention to interview the hospital's observation activities.
The women unknown named I and mother I was one inpatients. The women said that
the hospital services is quite good. Doctors can be said often came to know his
condition. Likewise nurse, with diligent attention to the medicine that will be drunk.
And in terms of the cleanliness of the room, Mrs. I also feel very comfortable. We
also asked about the women I for informed consent. Namely the risks and side effects

of what will get after surgery. Mother and I said that doctors had fully informed her
about this impact from her as possible in terms of the still limited because the hospital
is still under construction
After interviewing the women, we do not forget to say thankfullyt and we
went straight to the room near the hall that is the pharmacies, which in pharmacies
there are some indoor room again, including child clinic, dental clinic, polyclinic
content, physiotherapy room and laboratory. dr. berry want us to wait for the doctor
at the clinic was arriving to accompany and explain about any room around them.
I saw when entering the clinic was visibly seen nurses who sit all together and
some patients who are in the queue waiting for the doctor, and turn called. Not only
me and my colleagues who were in the room, but there is also a representative of a
group of 15. We are waiting for the doctor in the waiting room that still looks not
crowded. And the waiting room appears there is an atmosphere unfavorable views.
There seems to be a puddle on the floor, exactly in front of the clinic room womb.
The water was derived from a small mattress, suspected it was a baby mattress. I do
not know clearly whether the water is stagnant. Maybe a used water from the building
renovation process.
By the time we sat waiting with women N, one of the mothers who were
queuing in the room. She appeared with her husband. After we interviewed her turned
out she was taking her child to the clinic to immunize their children. According to
Ms. N, the service is quite good hospital, doctor-friendly, as well as convenient for
services rendered.
Her other things again Mrs. M who also sat with us, she is one of the patients
who use BPJS, she came to the hospital wants to immunize their children. According
to Mrs. M services at different hospitals with that in practice. Starting from the nurse,
if in the hospital, a nurse looks less vigilant in serving patients and the number of
nurses look less favorable due to appear nurse chatting with other nurses. According

to Mrs. M, the queue at the hospital quite long. While service in practice, look so spry
nurses serving patients, and the queue has been rapid than in the hospital. And if the
terms of service of doctors, there is no difference between the hospital and in
practice.
In addition, Mrs. M also tells the performance of doctors and nurses during
her hospitalization after birth mela in advance. Mrs. M gave birth by caesarean
section and treated for three days. We are not forget to ask her again about the
question that you ask before. Regarding informed concent, and Mrs. M said also that
she had been informed of all the risks in getting after surgery she took a room with 2
classes, which where in one room with three people. Doctors at the hospital is always
swiftly came into the room to ask Mrs. M's own conditions and circumstances as well
as the state of the baby. And the nurse was routinely replace the bandages.
After talking with Mrs. M, me and my friends walked toward the exit of the
clinic. Before that we asked permission to say goodbye to the doctors and nurses in
the clinic. Not noticeably 2 hours passed. And we went to see our group who have
done completed observation. We Finished the task of our observations on the first
day. And observation of our group only performed once cause od limited time

Conclusion :
From the observation that we can get information by looking at
various aspects of the RSIA Sitti Khadijah, it can be concluded that the
hospital has a quality and service is quite good, ranging from hospital
facility belonging also quite good. Although little visible difference in
service in hospitals and practices, in terms of care by nurses. But keep in
mind that the services of doctors in hospitals and in practice no
difference. Doctor and nurses provide the best for their patients. And to
say the relationship between doctors and patients at the hospital in
accordance with the principle of medical bioethics.
