 Employee Relations refers to the interrelationship between


employees and employers. These relationships are managed through
local and national agreements, Trade Unions and Works Councils.

 There has been a change in the way employers use and employ staff,
with greater use of part-time and casual staff and the establishment
of a core workforce.

 For successful Recruitment and Selection the following should be used:

f) Aptitude Tests

 The importance and reasons for Staff Training and Development,


including the flexibility of the workforce and upgrading of skills.

 The main institutions involved in employee relations include


ACAS, the various employers associations and Trade Unions.

 The process involved in Employee Relations of Negotiation,


Consultation and Arbitration.

 The management of Employee Relations through instruments such as


Works Councils.
